Helps with Captain's chair style seats

If you have a minivan with Captain's chairs, many booster type seats won't work with the incline of the seat. And the safety of the Captain's chair belt support system is compromised if you have to adjust the tilt of the back of the seat. This product works well for me. I changed from the triangular model to the 2 part one and it works much better. Also, the kids can do it up themselves and it is much more user friendly as you don't have to try to pry the fastening end of the seatbelt through the small area of the other model. Remember not for kids under 50 lbs.

I got this for time when my niece was in my car. She was in the habit of climbing out of her car seat when we'd be driving. Thankfully, this fixed that problem because she can't unbuckle the seat belt. However, this adjuster would come unsnapped at the seat belt would push right on her neck.pThere is a velcro seat belt adjuster made by Axius available in the automative section of most department stores. It is must easier to adjust and I've had fewer problems with it. My niece no longer has red marks on her name from the seat belt and she's still safe and secure while we're driving.

This product constantly came unsnaped and simply did not work. I bought 2 for the 3rd row of my minivan since I often cart other peoples kids around, but ended up having to go out and get the one piece triangular type instead. So far, they type seems to work much better.

Mom of 3 kids.I bought this hoping it would be the answer to my daughter's seat belt problem. This would not stay snapped and it was impossible to get the top part to angle correctly away from her face and neck. I returned it the same day.

I'm 5'2", and my seatbelt would always rub or cut into my neck. I keep the seatbelt adjuster attached to my seatbelt, and it works great. The only drawback is that I need to re-adjust it every time I buckle up. But I can live with it. It beats having a chaffed neck.

Wish I could find another one.

I purchased this item when about 2 years ago for my oldest daughter when she moved out of the booster seat. Now both of my daughters are out of car/booster seats and I could use another one. My kids end up putting on their belts and putting the shoulder strap behind them turning their belts into a lap belt only. This product does not allow them to do that and also keeps the shoulder strap from rubbing on their neck. We found no trouble with snaps coming undone.pThe only draw backs we found were the kids cannot buckle themselves with this product on. I buckle them and pull the adjuster into position and it stays there for the ride. The other draw back is in the heat of the summer, it is a little warm to have such a big part of their chest/stomache covered with an extra piece of material. It still beats complaints from red necks and unsafe riding from lap belts only.

This item is NOT SAFE. The lap belt portion of the seat belt should rest on the hips/thighs of the passenger. Devices like this can cause the lap belt to ride up onto the soft part of the abdomen, which can cause serious internal injuries in a crash. If your child is too short to use the seatbelt properly (no putting it behind their back, and no shoulder belt across the neck/face) they should still be in a booster seat! Most children are not ready for just a seatbelt until they are at least 8 years old and 80 pounds. Take the money you would put towards this product and get a booster seat instead.

We use this for our 4 1/2 year old, who's in a booster seat. As long as you can remember which side is up, (unlike the hubby sometimes!) it's fabulous. We use it in both cars and it's very quick when changing from one to the other. I would definitely recommend it!

Works for short adults too

I ordered 2 of these for my 4-year old twins' booster seats. What a waste of money. The velcro and snaps are very hard to adjust and hardly ever seemed right no matter how much I tried to set them. Worst of all, the seat belts seem constantly tangled and get stuck in the car door. Save the money and use a hand towel wrapped around the belt near the kids' neck... that will protect the child better than these things!

I have two of these adjusters and have been using them since my kids were 5 years old. They take a few minutes to put on properly but they work and the kids can clip themselves in....Yeah!!!! They are excellent when traveling!!! I will be buying yet another one in a few months.

I am a certified child passenger safety technician. This product and all others like it will cause severe internal injury to children in a crash. If your child is under 4'9" (like the child in the photo) s/he needs a booster. Seat belts are for adults and big kids (about age 9), and will ride up on their bellies instead of the strong hip bones. This causes "seat belt syndrome" and can be fatal.

These are not just for children. I used mine all the time. It really helps to keep the shoulder strap from grabbing you across the neck. It is so much more comfortable to wear a seat belt now. I have bought several as gift for friends and they love them too.

i bought this for my son when he was 4 yrs old.he no longer wanted to sit in his booster seat and was thrilled to be able to sit like a big boy in moms van.so far i havent had any problems with this seat belt adjuster unsnapping or anything.it fits him perfectly and he was even more comfortable on our long trips.although it would be nice if he could buckle himself in seems it is difficult to do when wearing this.

I ordered five of these so that my disabled son would have this seat belt adjuster in every car he rides in. It is easy to install, easy to adjust and stays in place well. My son is 12, and needs to be secured in the seat belt without it choking him. It took him a little while to adjust to it, but now it's not even an issue. He has used it in all five cars, and we have all been pleased with it - especially for the price! I am very pleased with this product and would reccommend it to anyone.

This product ends up lifting the lower lap belt off of the hips and legs and ON to the stomach and soft tissue. In an accident this product could cause a great deal of internal organ damage. Don't buy this product and destroy any that you are already using! Buy a low back booster seat because this isn't a viable safe option.

This belt positioners is no replacement for the security and safety afforded by a federally certified booster seat. This belt positioner allows for too much movement on the part of the child and is not able to keep them properly positioned in the adult seat belt system. If your child is too large for their car seat then spend the few extra dollars and purchase a belt positioning booster to make their ride more comfortable and safer.
