My husband and I chose this carseat and stroller after months of checking out other ones at stores like Target and Walmart and doing research. After 6 months of use, I'm sooo glad we got this one! The carseat has been awesome. I really like being able to tighten and loosen the straps using the one strap in front, instead of having to tweek them all individually. The harness clips are also alot less bulky than the ones I've seen on my friends' carseats...it doesn't look like my daughter is going to be strangled. This was important when she was brand new because she was born six weeks early and has always been small. The seat itself feels quite solid and the base is very secure; we don't have LATCH, either. One of the best parts is the fabric...it's super easy to clean and hides spit and drool much better than all the navy blue seats we looked at (it seemed like every other seat was navy or tan). The canopy on the seat is also super adjustable, so I don't even need to use window shades to keep the sun or wind out of her face. Combined with the stroller, it's quite weatherproof. The stroller is a bit bulky, but sturdy and easy to maneuver. I've found that it's easier to fold it up if the wheels are locked in place first.

br /Overall, I'm very pleased with this system. If only I could find something equally as cool in a convertible seat... :-)

This is an excellent Travel System. The car seat is easy to use and fits great into shopping carts and can easily be used in other cars without the base. the stroller folds easily and is not too heavy for one person to lift to put in a vehicle. I recently saw a safety review of "infant" auto seats where only 2 passed and this was one of them. Very pleased and would definately purchase again. Highly recommend.
I've never found a better travel system!

Everything about this system is wonderful! The colors are fabulous, it stears like a dream, and it's pretty easy to close up and store. I've used others in the past and none were as great as this one!

I would highly recommend the Baby Trend Travel System. The handle on the car seat makes for easier carrying of the baby, not as bulky and awkward as all the others on the market. The color and material is awesome, highly durable and trendy...nothing you'd find in the store and is good for a boy or girl (we have a girl)! The true color of the item though, is silver and a light, lime green w/a baby blue outline. The photo of the item online I believe, appears to be lilac, but it is not. The stroller is very nice. The only downside to both pieces of the travel system are: The car seat is a little heavier than others I have felt however, the ease of release from the base makes up for the little extra weight. The front plastic piece on the stroller where a babies snacks would rest, does hit the ground when you fold it up, so you would want to be careful not to drag it otherwise, it would scratch it up.
They have thought of everything!

I bought this stroller this weekend after retiring my 3 month old Eddie Bower hunk of junk. When you see all of the bad things improved upon with this stroller, you will see they have thought of everything. The pics are not even as great as it is in real life! Very trendy, funky colors , which is very hard to find! The handle on the car seat is sturdy, centered and rubberized for easy grip. The canopy is also very sturdy and does not fall on top of the baby. The "crab claw" latches the base to the car are HEAVY DUTY, this baby is going no where! The wheels turn like the breeze and finally, this car seat fits in all shopping carts, the cosco brand did not. Very nice!

Yes, I do hate this travel system... I bought it for it being highly recommended by Consumer Reports... well, they failed to rate based on ease of use along with a few other things. For starters, the infant seat is a hassle to buckle my little one into. The straps are completely ridiculous to snap clip together. The straps get cross-threaded all the time. Also, the material is completely inappropriate for infants. My son, sweats ALL the time in it. There is NO getting around that! Also, the travel system came without a head support, so when I called Baby Trend they told me I had to purchase one seperately. Also, the way the car seat sits in my car, a Subaru Outback, the infant seat tilts forward, which meant my newborns head continuously snapped forward while driving, stopping, turning, etc. So, once again, I called Baby Trend they said that I had to purchase some type of foam support - they called it a noodle. (Another added cost!)
br /Next, the weight of the infant carrier the weight of the stroller - both ridiculously too heavy! I had a c-section could NOT lift my baby in his infant carrier for 6 weeks - not good. Also, the whole contraption itself is very heavy. I have a backup travel system - a Graco - and that is so much lighter easier to use (fold up snap open). Also, the Baby Trend stroller is VERY difficult to manuever. I am not sure who said that it was easy to stroll around, but I find it very difficult I am in excellent shape. So, if you are seriously considering this stroller, I beg you to go to a store who carries the whole system TEST IT OUT! I will be very glad when my son outgrows it, which will be very soon!

This is the very best travel system out there. The price is worth every penny. I love the colors and all the unique features. It has the highest crash test rating for any infant car seat on the market. The stroller is well made and the colors are beautiful. I have been stopped in malls, hospitals and doctor's office with people asking where I purchased this travel system. One of the features that I like the most is the "triangle" on the handle of the car seat. This allows you to hold it different ways and your arm does not get as tired. I am very happy with this design and have had no problems. Baby Trend should mail me a gift for all the new Mom's that I have turned on to this travel system.

I agree with the other reviews. This is a great TS and the stroller does glide easily. I do have some advice though. Do not buy if you have a 2-door car like we do. The car seat release latch is at the foot of the seat unlike the graco that release from behind the head. It's practical for a four door car, more so than the graco release. I have to put it behind the passanger seat and climb in on the driver side so that I can get to the release bc you have to pull and lift from the foot. My car is too small (focus zx3) to put it in the middle or behind the driver seat. Like most newer cars it has the LATCH on the outer 2 seats and not in the middle. Also when you go to collasp the stroller you have to be so careful bc the tray will scrape on the ground which makes it awkward to close.
br /
br /The base isn't supposed to move more than an inch in any direction... but it does move more, a lot more. Especially from side to side. I can't say that I have seen it do that while I am driving mostly bc I try and keep my eyes on the road. The (buttons??) that you squeeze to lower the carry handle on the seat are difficult. You have to apply the squeeze on both sides perfectly or else the handle won't go down, which is frustrating when you have a crying baby and have to struggle with them. And getting frustrated doesn't help your snychronized squeeze reflex.
br /
br /The basket on the stroller holds quite a bit of stuff. Over all I do really like the system and Hailey seems to think it's okay too.

We received this travel system as a gift and we love the carseat. It's very easy to use and our daughter seems to like it. However, I was taking her on a walk with the carseat attached to the stroller and the stroller collapsed. Luckily, she was strapped into the carseat, so she was not hurt, just scared pretty badly. The locks on the stroller are defective. They look like they are engaged, but you can stick a piece of paper between the locks and the holes that they are supposed to fit into. I called Baby Trend and their warranty is only for 180 days and I have to pay for shipping the stroller back and for insurance. I have not resolved this matter with them yet and hope they will stand behind their product.
I would not buy this again

My husband and I are both nurses, so we did a lot of research to find the best car seat. Once the crash test ratings came out and had this one listed as one of the best, we decided to buy it. I have been very happy with our choice. The stroller has been great. It is easy to fold and unfold and is very portable. We have taken it in small spaces, and it is very easy to maneuver. We used it with the car seat for a while, and now that my daughter is old enough to sit up by herself, we use the stroller by itself. It is easily converted from use with the car seat to use without it. We also did not have any problems going from the reclining position to the upright position. The harness is secure without being too restrictive and is easily adjusted. It has just the right amount of storage space and cup holders. The car seat has also been great. The base is easy to install and transfers to any vehicle. We have a mini van and a truck, and it fits just fine in both. The car seat is easy to put in the base and also easy to release from the base. My daughter weighed 4lbs 12oz when we took her home, so I am glad that it did not have too much padding. We just used one of the store bought head supports until she gained control of her head. It does not have much padding, but that has only bothered my daughter the last couple of months (She is 13 months old) and only when we are traveling for several hours. My daughter weighs about 20 pounds now, so it is time to upgrade to another car seat anyway. This car seat is more on the heavier side, but I would rather have a car seat that is heavier and safe than one that is lightweight but doesn't hold up in a crash. The shade does a great job, and we live in a hot and dry climate. It doesn't get too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. We have had several people stop us in stores and ask where we got the car seat and/or stroller at because they liked the appearance. It is a nice classy color that isn't too girlish or too masculine. One of my only complaints is about the handle on the car seat. It can be difficult to move forward and back. After a few times of using it and practicing when my daughter wasn't in the seat, I didn't have too much trouble with it, but every once in a while it still takes some effort to move. The upside of that is that the handle stays in place and doesn't slide around. I don't consider that to be a big deal, it's just something I thought people might like to know when they get it so they don't return it right away. The harness is fairly easily adjusted, although the straps can get twisted on occasion (my other complaint). I have been very happy with the entire set, and we are still using the stroller even though we had to upgrade to a bigger car seat.

We have been using this system for a year and finally are going to get rid of it as our son is outgrowing it. I regret purchasing the stroller every time I look at it. I NEVER used it a stroller alone, always only as a base for the carseat. Wasted money for sure. The stroller is SOOOO heavy, the triangular handle is a great idea, but don't count on being able to use it. Unless you plan on strolling around with an empty stroller. With a diaper bag, a car seat and a baby you can forget about one handed use. It's hard enough with two hands. The front wheels don't spin around easily. Next problem. It so big, it and handful of grocery bags is all that fits in my sedan's trunk. Next problem. Everytime you fold it, the front tray hits the ground and scratches immediately. Horrible design. And it's heavy. Also, wheels started squeeking after a shot period of time. I really really really hate this stroller. I have nothing good to say about it.
br /The car seat has worked ok for us. It rated safer than other carseats, so we chose it for that reason and were happy with it from safety standpoint. Also, straps are easy to use and adjust. Base is easy to move from one car to the next. Done it 10 seconds including walking from car to car. Ok, now the list of problems. It's SOOO SOOO SOOO heavy. I am in a great shape and carry my 20 pounder around in one hand all the time for extended periods of time, but I could not carry the car seat with the baby in it when he was half the weight. Again, great design for the triangular handle, it allows for a choice on how to hold the handle, BUT, unless you're a guy (Or a woman with super duper muscles), you won't use it much. I used both arms to carry him short distances just to move him to the stroller or a shopping cart. Next. The material is very good looking but impractical. My guy sweats in it like crazy and he is not a sweaty baby. The car seat is the only place he gets sweaty. I put a cloth diaper underneath him and it helps some with the sweating. One thing I hate about this car seat most is the handle. So hard to switch positions, it's crazy. I always feel like swearing when I have to do this and strugle even after one year of using it. One or the other side unlocks but get them unlocked simultaniously on the first try. Good luck with that.
br /I also had the opportunity to deal with baby trend customer service and it was rather sad. They sent me bent front wheel. No way that thing could bend like that during shipping. It's a strong axle. Anyway, so I call the customer service and after 15 minutes of giving them this and than number from the stroller they said they will call back. Never did. So, I call back couple days later. They say "sure we can send you a new wheel, what is your credit card number?" So, I said you either send me a new wheel or I'll send the whole thing back (which means waste for them, returned baby items like that cannot be resold). So, they sent me a new wheel at the end. Not a very good customer service, huh?
br /Even though the car seat has problems, it is safe and overall not bad. I would give it 4 stars, but would not buy it again though.
br /The stroller is a one star for sure. Hate that thing.

Overall, I like the car seat. My husband hates the straps, but I have no trouble latching them. My son does sweat EVERY time he is in it. I live in the south so I was blaming it on the weather here as well as the material (it does not breathe), but it seems other people have the same issue. It is very heavy for an infant carrier. I see other parents walking with their carriers and it seems so easy for them with their lightweight carriers. While I'm struggling to get this seat in and out of the car and carry it, his head is bouncing around because it has no head support. This is by biggest complaint-an infant carrier without head support-what is that about? It makes absolutely no sense!
br /I haven't used the stroller much. It is a little difficult to fold/unfold, but maybe I will get used to it. The only thing I don't like is that the edge of the tray hits the ground when folding/unfolding, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. The times that I have used it I had no complaints. It has plenty of room for your things and seems very comfortable for him.
br /Like I have said, overall it is a good system. I wouldn't rate it any less because it does seem secure and safe. If that means dealing with it being heavy, then it is worth it. I'm 5'2" and have an X-Terra which has a very narrow backseat doorway. It is also high for me to get him in/out of the seat and the seat in/out of the car, so I would probably have the same trouble with other seats but it would be easier if it were lighter.

The stroller is easy to fold, not as easy to unfold though. The car seat is nice, but my son gets sweaty in it in no time. The car seat straps are great. Very easy to loosen/tighten baby and adjust for growing baby. Besides I trust this carseat for its safety. Overall, I recommend this travel system.

although my baby isnt born yet.... i have two other kids and have always had a horrible time with the stroller... not turning smoothly... hard to fold and unfold... car seat not fitting in it properly.... but THIS stroller/carseat combo is the BEST.... i put it on my registry and was disapointed to see that i could only get it online.... i was worried about leaving it as a shower gift because THIS is the set i wanted after all the reviews i read about it.. i HAD to have it... i love the triangle handle.. very comfortable to carry the car seat.. i love that the way you fold up the stroller is so easy... the plastic pieces DO slam on floor when i fold it though and that worries me.... i dont want to break it or totally ruin them the first time i use it out side of the house... other than that.. i love that it turns SO smooth.. the stroller glides around like its on air.. not all bumpy and horrible.... the overall look is beautiful.. it looks like it would be easy to clean up when baby spits up all over and or diaper leaks.... i am VERY impressed with this product and im VERY glad i decided to buy it myself and not just HOPE someone else would get it as a gift.. THIS is the one i wanted...and i love it... although if i didnt have access to my husbands debit card.... i wouldnt have been able to purchase it... so the ONLY complaint i have about this is that i couldnt buy it in the store.... babies r us had the same brand of stroller .. but it wasnt THIS one....
br /oh and i just remembered a concern i had about this stroller..... it has a plastic clip to keep the stroller folded... i really feel it shouldnt be plastic.. and if it HAS to be plastic.. it shouldnt be flexible like this one is... but still overall.. i love this product...and if this one flew away in a hurricane.. i would definitely get this one again... i would recomend this to anyone..

My husband and I researched extensively to find a great travel system and we found it in this one!! Our daughter is now a month old and is very comfortable in the seat. It is very easy to get her in and out of the seat and the handle grip is great to keep your arm from getting over-tired. I love that the seat is very sturdy! You can tell that it is well made. I am only 5'2" tall and find it very easy to carry my daughter in the seat when I am out and about town. I also find it easy to put the seat in the car (we own a Subaru Tribeca and it fits inside with ease) and out smoothly! The stroller is also great. It took us a few practice runs to figure out the folding of the stroller, but we are now very skilled at it. I would recommend this system to anyone! It is perfect for a boy or a girl as the colors are spectacular!

The stroller is a smooth ride and has held up well to the rough terrain I tend to puch it over. The color is nice, and my son seems to like it well enough. But the baby carrier is SO heavy, the buckle system is very cumbersome, the handle part of the carrier is very difficult to adjust, and even though my son's feet are starting to hang out, he still doesnt seem to get proper support in the upper half of the seat. the base is fine, except that I cant get it level enough to no have my son's head completely fallen forward when he sleeps. Any type of bucket seat makes the base adjustment difficult. So it has worked well enough, but I plan to get a different one for my next child.

I love this stroller. We bought it not knowing what sex our baby was and it could easily be appropriate for girl or boy. Now our baby girl is 7 months old and this stroller has been across the country with us. It was banged around on flights and I have pushed her on bumpy, country roads and it shows hardly any wear and still works great. It does seem to hold heat, so you wouldn't need any type of warm seat cover in the cold months. But it's not so hot that she sweats constantly in it. Now that it is late spring we are careful to not put her in the seat with her jacket on and she is fine. I read the other reviews before buying and it is true that the tray bangs the ground when you collapse it, but it's the front of the tray- not the surface or anywhere the child's hands can reach (so you don't have to worry about germs). I also liked that this travel system didn't have the gaudy red buttons everywhere like the Graco models have. The stroller is great looking and durable. I would recommend it.

We bought this in 2005 when we had our first child and are now using it for our second child. This Baby Trend infant seat is a good fit for our little one. It also scored quite high for highway safety in 2005.....right up there with it's much more expensive counterpart by Peg Perego. The 2005 model that we bought has the Flex Loc system which is a modification of the Latch Loc. Baby Trend effectively fixed the issue with the ridged Latch Loc system. Flex Loc gives you the ability to latch into any car with the latch system without issue. I would recommend the infant seat. Hopefully, BabiesRus now carries the extra bases separately. We ordered a second base for around $30 from Baby Trend directly. If you need to use the seat in more than one vehicle, a second base is a must! I would have liked to have chosen a different stroller now that we have used it. BabiesRus only sells the Baby Trend infant seats in the travel pack including the stroller. The stroller is lightweight but the front tray does hit the ground when opening and closing it. Most people (women like myself) are not strong enough to avoid hitting the tray on the ground when opening and closing the stroller. The Sit-N-Stand LX by Baby Trend is much lighter and easier to open and close. That is a winning stroller!
Love it but people are right about it being heavy.

I think this travel system is great. The car seat is pretty heavy so don't plan on just carrying it around places. That really hasn't been an issue for us since we usually just take it from the car to the stroller or a shopping cart (which it fits in perfectly by the way).

br /When going on walks in the stroller(w/o the carseat) I have really come to appreciate the canopy's ability to move a full 180 to the front of the stroller. I take walks daily with a neighbor and her graco stroller doesn't have this ability but it really does come in handy when facing the sun. I do wish the little peekaboo window in the canopy was larger though.
br /
br /As most travel systems the stroller is pretty large but it does fit into the trunk of our cavalier (although there is not much room for anything else).
br /
br /My son is over 10 months now and just starting to grow out of the car seat. I love the look as well and would recommend this stroller to anyone. However if you are concerned about the weight look elsewhere. The previously mentioned neighbors Graco system is much lighter but it is also not holding up as well.

I absolutely LOVE the colors of this system!!!There is no other sytem out there like it that I have seen as far as colors go with the lime green...
br /Anyway, The stroller rides great! The car seat latches on to it and it does not budge at all when hooked on! The stroller is easy to push with one hand using the triangle grip on handle, has a rotating canopy to cover baby at all angles, and folds easily. However it is a bit large and heavy- Mom's looking for a lightweight system may want to try a different one. Also the basket on the stroller pulls down like the ones on the graco quattro strollers but not as easily. On this system you pull out on the basket and then down to get it to go and it seems if you do not grab in just the right spot it is not that easy to get it to fold down. Once you figure out though where that "spot" is, it is very easy to do every time.
br /The main complaint I have with the stroller is the way the seat reclines. It has a strap with a buckle that you have to undo everytime you want to recline the seat or raise it which is not a big deal at all BUT the strap itself is a pain in the neck to tighten or loosen to adjust the amount of recline. If you have the seat in an upright position and then want to recline it you can't just unbuckle the clasp (buckle) you have to actually unthread the strap partially from the buckle, loosen it up and then re-tighten it- you can't just pull on the strap or buckle to get it to loosen like most other strollers.... I tried more than one of this system because I thought it may have just been the one I had but they all did the same thing so I don't think I just have a defective one. It is the way it is made I guess.
br /The car seat is great. Can't really find anything bad about it except I wish the crotch strap was able to be removed like in the old sytle latch loc seat to wash it but I guess it can be done attached to the seat so no biggie. Just thought I would mention it so people would know... I do not like the base of the car seat. I wish they had kept the old style base. The car seat base no longer is weighted, nor does it have the rigid LATCH system anymore either. I thought it was much more secure in the car with the old style base. It did not move an inch or even a centimeter! The new style base is very similar to the graco snugride base but the LATCH connectors are a bit different. This base seems to move a bit too much for my liking. Maybe it is just my car? You need to try it for yourself though in your car as all vehicles are different and not all styles of seats/bases fit every car...
br /All in all though I don't think it is a bad system. I feel it is safe and attractive too!

My son was born recently and we have just begun to use them. So far we have been very pleased with the ease of use. Putting the stroller together was not too difficult and installing the car seat when according to directions even though the pictures in the manual are hard to see clearly.
Best in Government crash rating too.

Its great... let me give you the bad part.
br /1. Heavy
br /2. The trigger to unlatch from base is in the front.. Not practical for a rear facing system.

Do not buy Baby Trend strollers! I only gave it 1 star because I couldn't figure out how to give it none. We have a Safari Travel System and the support bar between the rear wheels completely broke in two after less than 4 months of daily walks on the sidewalk. And Baby Trend refuses to cover a repair or replacement. Only buy if you consider strollers disposable items, because ours is now ready to throw away.

I hate this travel system. Contrary to the hefty price tag, it is NOT well built or designed. It's very cheap and it's not cushy or comfy for the baby. The canopy on the carseat pulls off easily, the tray on the stroller gets scratched up because of the way it collapes, and it's not easy to use at all. I'm tired of fighting with this thing (it's only 4 months old)...I'm getting rid of it and purchasing a Graco or Evenflo.

I haven't actually used this yet. I registered for it because I liked the look and the unique handle. Then, I discovered that the Flex-loc carseat was the TOP RATED consumer reports carseat for safety, one of only two that passed their safety tests. That is enough for me!
Poor ease of use

I currently own the Chicco Key-Fit infant car seat but when the new test results were released I purchased the Galaxy Flex-Lock seat. I was not impressed when it arrived. It does not come with any infant head support and the seat wasn't as comfortable as the Chicco seat. I also noticed that the clips that buckle at the crotch are plastic, Chicco's are metal. To release the seat from the base you have to dig under the front of the seat, Chicco's release is at the top of the seat near the canopy. The handle on the Flex-Lock is VERY difficult to move as well. I thought I could overlook these things if it meant my baby would be safe in the car, until I tried to install it! I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey and I could not get the latches to tighten all the way so I had to use the seat belt. In order to use the seat belt with a shoulder strap you have to thread the lap portion and the shoulder portion through to metal pieces, the seat belt is doubled up when you do this. The seat belt does not fit through the metal piece when it's doubled. I tried several different ways to install this seat, without doubling the belt, and nothing worked. I am returning this seat. The Chicco Key-Fit ranked 3rd and did pass with a "Fair" rating. I did order the Graco Snug Ride since it was one of the two top rated seats, if I can't get it installed we're definitely sticking with the Chicco Key-Fit.
