Please be aware that this kit must only be used for specific Evenflo seats. It cannot be used on other brands. In fact, Evenflo doesn't even advise using it for all of their own seats; it has only been proven safe on specific models (and I wish Amazon had been able to put those models in the product description). By using this on non-approved seats, you are either using it in a situation where it has been tested and failed, or you are making your child the crash test dummy. There are many reasons why it may fail to perform with a different seat - your seat may be heavier than the Evenflo seat it is designed to restrain, for example, or may have a belt path that puts strain on different areas. Please do not use this kit on non-approved, non-Evenflo seats.

I was amazed at how much more secure the seats are (they don't move at all!) than they were with seat belts. We got one to try it out and now we're buying two more so that our infant, toddler and preschooler all have them. They do take a little muscle to install, but it's a small price to pay for the extra safety. I also recommend that you get a seat protector because since the seat is fitted more firmly, it will more likely mar your car's seat unless there is a layer between the vehicle seat and the car seat.

If you automobile is equiped with LATCH compatible clipping locations this is a super product. It lets you avoid those irritating and difficult to use locking clips, and if you transfer car seats between cars this product will make your task much, much easier. We own three sets!

While this LATCH retrofit kit may work great with some vehicles, not all LATCH equipped vehicle, seat, and retrofit kit combinations will work.pI recently took this kit, along with a seat it was approved for use with (an infant, rear facing seat) to a car seat installation inspection provided by the California Highway Patrol. It just plain old won't work. The belt of the kit is too long for the belt path in my vehicle (a 2002 Saturn Vue) and we wound up ditching it for the good old seatbelt.pPLEASE, regardless of whether the kit is approved for use with your particular seat, go get the installlation checked out by a professional, to make sure it is safe in YOUR vehicle.

Thanks to Karen's review of this product I went out and bought one a few weeks ago and have just started using it in my Windstar, I have never had such ease putting a car seat in the car and if you have a minivan with a bench seat in the middle row it can help to avoid the difficulty of getting into the third row. This is a VERY BIG MUST HAVE. Thanks Karen!! If I had only known about this product six months ago.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has LATCH compliant seats in their vehicle. LATCH seats will be required in vehicles made after Sept 2002 but more and more are getting them sooner. We use ours in a 2002 Honda Odyssey with a Evenflo Apollo seat and it installs like a dream in a fraction of the time it takes with a seat belt and is rock solid.

Words do not adequately describe how wonderful these are. I would never trust the retrofit kits that mount to the base of the seats. These are safe and durable and reliable.pI still use my convertible car seat and my booster seat like infant portable seats and these make the in and out an absolute breeze. I would spend 3 times as much considering how wonderful they work. I would recommend them over any seat belt on the market for anchoring a car seat.pI went through a car seat safety inspection and I was the ONLY one with my seats (two of them) installed. They had been checking for two days and I was the first and it was all due to the idiot-proof-ness of this system and these latches are RUGGED and BUILT to last! I have washed them, hooked and unhooked them more times than anyone could imagine and there is no trace of wear and tear, not one tiny bit of fraying. And they are a year old.pDefinitely on my thrilled list.

This item is a must have if your car is equiped with LATCH. I had my car seat in perfectly in less time than it has ever taken with a seatbelt, and more securely.I would definetely recomend this to anyone.

This latch belt is great. Within 5 minutes I had my baby's car seat tightly installed. When I was done tightening this belt the seat wouldn't budge even a fraction of an inch. I was impressed with how easy this was to use. NO locking clips and no fighting with the seatbelt to lock. I only wish I had a car equipped with LATCH when my daughter was first born. I'm so happy Evenflo came out with such a great product. If your vehicle is equiped with LATCH then you really should consider getting this product.

There's nothing to this product - it's just a belt made of the same kind of webing as your seat belts. It clips into the LATCH anchors of your LATCH-compatible vehicle, you pull to tighten and voila, you child's seat is as secure as ever with less effort than using the seat belts. Give a good tug on the belt and the seat will hardly budge when you try to move it. Evenflo doesn't support this item for other manufacturers seats, but it works with any seat that accepts a lap belt. Removing the seat isn't as easy as I had hoped, but it's still easier than the regular seat belt. I leave the strap threaded through the child seat so that I can re-install it quickly. Simple and nice.
