There are several 1-star reviews for this product, and other car seats, that are highly suspicious.
br /
br /1 - they give multiple seats 1 star
br /2 - they often use the same review for all seats they pan
br /3 - they usually mention "Britax is great, it's worth the money, they do more testing," etc.
br /
br /Specifically, check the review history of:
br /Colton's Momma (Fresno, CA)
br /Stephanie Hinderager "Stephani Hinderager" (Sun River, MT)
br /Alden Snow
br /
br /There are others that are suspicious as well.
br /
br /Sadly, many companies employ people to write positive reviews of their products, and negative reviews of competitors on Amazon.com and in forums. I would avoid products from all companies who do this, as you can't trust user reviews. When checking Amazon user ratings, look at all reviews, sort by lowest rating first, and see what other reviews the user has posted.
br /
br /Hope this helps. You marketing plant reviewers should be ashamed.
br /
br /I bought this seat, installed it easily, and my daughter loves it. The straps are well padded, the buckle is easy to insert and it even ejects itself a little bit to make it easier to get my girl out of the seat. With a press of a button the straps loosen and they tighten just as quickly by pulling a strap on the seat base.

"carseat in our SUV and couldn't get it installed to safety standards. I called the hotline and they said this carseat CANNOT BE USED IN SUV'S and will not be safe in an SUV, because of the base and reclining feature on this seat."
br /
br /I don't know what truck that guy drives but it fits into my g.cherokee JUST FINE.Has also been installed in a trailblazer, suburban, different types of sedans and the cobalt coupe and on older cherokee.Plus, the base is REMOVABLE. Some woman said she couldn't get it in rear facing....uh, duh. It's not a rear facing seat. Someone said it should be a one button release....it is. I am not seeing that complaint.
br /
br /
br /I have this seat for my 2yr old. It is a great seat. I RARELY have the straps twist and, if you catch it before it twist all terrible, it's an easy fix. I am talking 2 sec with child still in seat. I have never had to take the straps apart to fix a twist. Oh, what people will do without thinking. The seat is plenty big, too. Plenty of space. My only complaint is the cup holder.
br /a) you can't switch sides so your child has to sit to the right of the car to use it
br /b) it doesn't pull out very far
br /c) it doesn't fit all cups and is really low so toddlers cant really use. Really for older, longer armed kids which doesn't matter cause the base is gone for booster mode.
br /
br /As far as reclining goes, I recline hers. Just not something I would recommend doing while driving. Now, if you can't talk on a cell, eat, or play with the radio, how could it be safe to adjust your carseat while driving? hmm..... Her armrest have never broken or popped off. Even when pulling her out, her shorts will catch the tip and it still doesn't pull off. Wonder what other people were doing? I haven't had the chestpiece break either. I hear people complain of the straps twisting but everyone I know who has any Cosco seat, doesn't have that problem. The few times it did twist, dd did it. I just hold it right and move the clip up and down. The strap rolls right back over. Really simple. The only problem I have ever had was when I was washing both this one and the AO, I took them apart together and had fun trying to figure out which piece went with which seat. Also, the base is a crumb catcher. simple clean though. Just pull out rod, dump, replace.
br /
br /I love it and will hate it when she outgrows it.

One reviewer said that it takes 5-7 minutes just to get the get the two metal pieces linedup to buckle the harness into place. I hope this is an exaggeration. Yes, the two pieces fit together like a puzzle, but with a little practice, it takes no more time than any other carseat.
br /
br /I liked this seat because, when used as a booster, the belt positioners allow the car's seat belt to move freely and not leave any slack. Many other seats do not allow the free mobvement, and in an accident, the belt may not retract properly and hold the child in place.

Shopping for a booster covertable was harder than we imagined. Consumer Reports only recommended one seat, and the reviews by customers were both positive and negaitive. We went ahead and purchased this one anyway.
br /
br /We looked at all the convertables and although there were not that many to choose from, it was difficult. The most important thing to us was safety, so we hope this one is!
br /
br /The reasons for not choosing the others:
br /The Graco Platinum was cushioned nicely but...although people bought it b/c it was narrow and would fit in their cars, it was too narrow. My son is very slender and even he looked squished at only 28 months. I loved the look and it did look comfortable but...it is very narrow through the chest and shoulders.
br /
br /The Eddie Bauer Blue Glacier, was just the opposite, too wide and bulky. He looked like he had too much room to flop around.
br /
br /From what we were told, this car seat is the same as the Costco Summit, but in the Eddie Bauer fabric. We purchased this one and hope consumer reports is right. I think with all car seats the straps can get easily twisted when being rushed or careless. We don't like this tether strap...it seems we can't get it as tight as our old car seat. That is one downside we found so far. Our son does love having his own cup holder and arm rest though.
br /
br /Good Luck...this was a tough buy for us.

I bought this car seat for all the reasons written here by other consumers. While travelling on a snowy road 2 days ago, I hit my brakes to avoid an accident while my just turned 3 yr old daughter was in the backseat. I thought she was fine but as I drove away I heard her saying mommy help me.I turned around and the harness straps were up at her neck and she was sliding down. Where the harness straps are clipped together and connected, the connector (?) came out totally, just broke away and I was holding the clip and the short piece of strap. I went to the trooper station to see if they could fix it and they were in shock, they never saw anything like that. Needless to say they told me to return it and called for an ambulance for my daughter as the straps dug into her neck and left red welts. Thank God, she is fine. I returned it to Babies R Us and the staff there were extremely apologetic and they could not figure out how it happened. I strongly recommend not buying this car seat as when it was supposed to protect, it did not....

I HIGHLY reccommend this car seat!!!! I was recently in a nasty car accident, hit from both sides. My 3 children were all with me ages 10, 7 2. My 2 year old was strapped in this car seat and walked away without any bumps or bruises. It could have been a lot worse. Yes, the two pieces that fit into the buckle did have to fit together exactly in order to buckle properly, like the other reviews have mentioned. But you get used to it and I never really had any problems, only if he was really squirming!! I will be going straight back to the store to buy another seat just like this one!!

Awsome seat!!!! What a great purchase!!

I read the reviews on this seat and was a bit concerned about the remarks about this seat not working in an SUV. I had been eyeing this car seat in the store for about 4 months and really had my heart set on purchasing this one once my son outgrew his other car seat. We traded our 1998 Mazda B4000 truck on a 2004 Dodge Durango. Our old seat was not even remotely secure with LATCH. I wanted a car seat that would be secure with LATCH. I decided to go ahead and purchase this seat. I installed it right in the Babys R Us parking lot with the idea in mind that it was going right back into the store if it wasn't tight fitting. I left my son in his old seat to make the job easier from a controlling the child while I install the seat point of view. I took the car seat out of the box and read the instructions and also read my vehicle's owner's manuel on use of it's LATCH features. The seat was a bit harder to install, but I think that was more due to the positioning of my vehicle's LATCH anchors than it being the seat's fault. It took me about 20 minutes and some brute force pulling on the straps to install it. Now that I've installed it once I think I can do it in under 10 minutes the next time. The seat didn't budge an inch. I've had the seat 3 weeks and I absolutely love it.Some people have meantioned that the seat doesn't stay tight. I recently had to tighten the straps. The instructions tell you to periodically check the tightness and for good reason. As with any belting system the straps will loosen over time. I've only had to retighen the straps once since it's instillation. I chalk that up to routine maintence. As to the straps twisting, I've actually found that the wider Eddie Bauser straps twist less that my old Graco car seat. I am always careful to neatly take the straps off and set them aside. I have yet to have them twist on me. The straps are like folding laundry, if you roll your laundry up into a ball and don't fold them neatly you get wrinkled clothes. Well if you don't take the straps off and set them aside carefully and neatly they will twist. For those that complain about the puzzle piece seat belt locking mechanism, my husband would agree with you. My husband can't seem to get the seat belt on this car seat buckled. I have no problem with it and tend to have 100 times more patience than he has when it comes to stuff like this. I don't have a problem with the seat belt. It just has become my job to buckle our child into the car seat. No big deal. For those that are concerned about the child's head falling forward when they sleep, yes my child's head does fall forward. I have a travel personal pillow that I now keep in the car. When my son falls asleep I pull over or wait till I'm stopped at a red light to put the pillow under his chin and rest his head on it. This solves the problem and doesn't interfere with the car seat harness. His head is still forward, but it is supported and he actually looks comfy. The car seat over all is well padded. Its padding is only rivaled by the Graco Platnium Cargo Booster Seat. I strongly recommend putting your child in the car seat and adjusting it with the child in it prior to purchasing this car seat. This way you will learn if you can operate it's seat belt easily (with a squirming child in it).

First of all the person below doesn't know what they are talking about. This car seat is only forward facing, so YES IT WILL NOT INSTALL REAR FACING BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T READ INSTRUCTIONS!!! This car seat is wonderful and I have alot of Cosco/Eddie Bauer products. It is easy to use and install. Their customer service is wonderful when you need them, and you don't get great service very often.

Best of the bunch!

I looked at a lot of car seats before deciding on this one which has great ratings from Consumer Reports. Besides the great ratings, here are some other things I found:
br /
br /Advantages:
br /(1) It is easier to move the shoulder straps up when your child gets taller (no rerouting straps).
br /(2) It is wide enough to give your child plenty of room especially as he/she gets bigger.
br /(3) It has great padding for comfort which is very nice for long trips.
br /
br /Disadvantage:
br /(1) The latch strap at the base of the seat was not long enough for the 2003 Ford Expedition middle seat. Therefore, I had to get an extention to use the latch.
br /
br /I would recommend this seat to anyone looking for a great seat for their child that has great ratings. The latch strap was easily overcome by getting an extention.

I purchased this exact same car seat for my son almost three years ago now. He loves it. We take many car trips and he has never been uncomfortable in it. There is cushioning in the top so it does not affect his back or neck either, like many car seats can do. He has spilled juice on it and has lost snacks inside-all the stains have come off and the snacks were easy to place and remove. I have never had any problems with any of the straps on this car seat. If a car seat is not placed properly in the car straps can become a problem so be sure to have them checked at a car seat checkspot. They are free and should be required by state. I have two friends who also use this car seat and are all extremely happy with them. My daughter is now ready to move into a booster as well and I will be buying the same car seat for her.

I'm not impressed...

A friend got this for my son when he was getting too big for his infant seat. This car seat looks nice, but that is about it. It is hard to strap in, the harness gets easily tangled and twisted. The strap at the bottom which is supposed to tighten the harness, is hard to adjust. And the seat is not well padded. Also, the material is already tearing and unraveling and I've only been using the seat for about 5 months. I'm not impressed.

Deluxe??? Where's the comfort???

I read all of the reviews for this seat and determined that most of them were the operators fault and not the product. 1. Most all car seat straps twist if you're careless and do not place them aside neatly after removing your child. 2. As far as installation goes, if it's super easy to install then the seat probably isn't in tight enough or installed correctly. 3. I have yet to find a car seat that the childs head doesn't fall forward when sleeping - that's why there are so many after market products like the neck wings and pillows to support your childs head. 4. With all seats that recline, you have to unbuckle the seat first, then recline it, then re-buckle it. If you have a small car, you're going to have a tough time finding a reclining car seat that fits in your vehicle. 5. If you think the locking clip is too complicated to figure out........ that's SCARY!!!
br /
br /So despite the negative comments about all of the above, I decided to purchase this seat for both of my children. This seat and all of it's features are nice and the price isn't bad either. I did however return the seats because of one reason and one reason only - Where's the padding in this thing???? This seat was so hard I couldn't imagine sitting it for a long period of time. My husband and I take the kids on long road trips so it's important that they have a comfortable seat. I definitely wouldn't consider this a comfortable seat. I purchased these as a second set for my husbands crew cab truck so they didn't need to be super wazoo seats. I have the COSCO Alpha Omega 3- in- 1 seats for my suburban (which I love).
br /
br /So after my novel, to make a long story short I returned this seat for the comfort reason only and purchased the Eddie Bauer Comfort High Back Booster instead. It has tons of padding for comfort, but of course it doesn't have the reclining feature. Oh well, at least it's comfortable for the kids.

as with the person who reviewed this item before me, i have several cosco/eddie bauer products. i have always found them to be a class act.
br /
br /i am; however, concerned for another reason. how did it come to be that the consumer with all of the trouble installing it rear facing missed all of the warnings about doing so? there are many, many resources on the internet (i was researching obtaining a replacement harness, so i've seen them) regarding safety tips, common mistakes, etc. related to car seat installation.
br /
br /i am most concerned that this consumer may have been successful in her pursuits, and her children would have been endangered. PLEASE, PLEASE read the directions and use these things accordingly. and if you want one that is "appealing to the eye", safe, and easy to use, i endorse; wholeheartedly, this (and quite a few others) cosco/eddie bauer product.

Well...I've had this seat for awhile now and when I first wrote a review I gave it 4 stars (after owning it for 2 weeks), but after owning it for about 7 months, I change my mind...The straps do get twisted up about once a week. Also one side is definately tighter than the other. I have to pull on it several minutes to get it snug on my daughter as it does not tighten easily. Even when I yank on it I sometimes feel as if my daughter is not as tight in it as I would like. I hate the time it takes to put her in the car. I'm thinking of switching it to just the booster now and letting go of the harness as she is able to use it either way right now. I hope that helps it...Either way I think I will probably use it as a second seat in my husband's car and I may look for a new safe seat. It may have gotten good consumer reviews, but that won't make a difference if the straps aren't working correctly or fitting correctly around my child.

We are happy with it!

We have been useing this seat for the last 1.5 years, and we like it.
br /It's super comfy for our son, which is important because we take a lot of trips. We had it installed by a car seat tech so there are no problems there.
br /We were warned about twisty straps, and I keep a lookout for it, but I have not noticed the straps twisting at all.
br /5 stars!

We chose this carseat because our daughter bought it and was very pleased with it. At first I was hesitant because I had read the horror story reviews about the difficult installation, twisting straps, hard to fasten crotch strap buckle, etc. Nonsense! My husband installed it in my 2001 Jimmy (no latch) in less than 20 minutes in a pouring rain. It is very tight and doesn't move at all. It takes my husband less than 5 minutes to install the seat in his pickup with the latch system. Neither one of us has had any trouble with the overlapping puzzle crotch strap buckle. The straps are very easy to adjust, and so far we have had no trouble with the straps twisting. My grandson is very happy in this seat and loves looking out the window as he rides. We bought this instead of a convertible seat because the convertible seat would not fit rear facing in our Jimmy. (Convertible seats only fit rear facing properly in large suvs or vans.)

3 years going strong with this seat!

I purchased this carseat back in 2003, just before my goddaughter turned a year old. I constantly have her and it just made more sense for me to have my own carseat. I originally was going to purchase the Evenflo Triumph due to the excellent reviews at the time, but none were available when I went to purchase ... so I bought this and it's one of the best investments I ever made. It was perfect for my tiny goddaughter at the time. Now that she's 3 years old and still tiny (only 28 lbs), she still needs the 5 point harness restraints (not quite ready for the booster aspect of the seat which I will love when she's ready). This seat has been used not only for her but for my cousins, family friend's children, etc. This durable seat keeps trucking on and it still looks brand new! It fits great in my 2003 Mitsubishi Galant or in my Mother's 2003 Nissan Altima. It does have a bulky base, but it's very secure once hooked in with the latch system, it doesn't budge an inch! My goddaughter has plenty of room to fall asleep- no droopy head and she loves the arm rests, loves that she's up high-up and can see everything, loves that she has her own personal sippy cup holder ... no complaints period about this seat. I've unstalled it and installed it within minutes (no more than 3 minutes tops), even in the pouring ran! The clasps are easy to buckle and unbuckle in seconds, if it looks complicated to an adult than its perfect! You don't want to turn around while driving and see your child about to stand up and wave at you (obviously)! I think the triangle buckle is amazing, she'll never figure it out. The buckle took me one try to figure out, you don't need to be a genius to do it, my Mother who is almost 60 yrs old can do it! Great seat, worth the money, 3 years and going strong!

I actually wrote a review for the wrong eddie bauer carseat. DUH lol. I have this one just in the tan pattern. Its great. As far as cleaning, I just took it apart 3 days ago and washed it in the washing machine and hung dry I had no problems what so ever taking the padding off maybe 5 minutes tops. My 4 1/2 year old has had the seat for almost 2 years now and she still uses the straps not the seat belt. The straps are great they stretch pretty far well at least so far. When its time for my 2 year old to get a new carseat most deff it will be this one..

We had a car accident recently on black ice. Our SUV rolled over onto its roof. Our children were secure in their carseat and booster seat. Thankfully, none of us were badly hurt! Even with the vehicle rollover, this seat was still very much in tact with our child. This booster seat really protected him from being jociled around. We went and purchased the same seat now sold in the Brown Tech print. The seat sits a little higher than our previous EB seat that we purchased in 04, but the rest of it is the same. You will love this fabric. It looks nice and it seems to wear well.
br /
br /Since I first wrote this review, we have used it quite a bit, and my son says it is very comfortable. We are more than pleased. I highly recommend this booster seat. It offers the safety and support features that every parent wants for his or her child. To top it off, the price is great too!

This is a great car seat, I looked at many different models before purchasing this one, I even purchased the Cosco 3 in 1 but took it back because it wasn't made nearly as well as the Summit Booster Seat. The only problem I have with it is that the red button to release the harness is a bit stiff and hard to push in with one hand, my other arm is usually carrying my youngest child or groceries, however this also means that my son can't get out by himself while we are driving down the road and that is a good thing.

We had read the reviews on many different Booster seats and normally we would get a Britax Hands Down, however the britax does not have a 5 point harness and we want our 3 yr old in a 5 point as long as possible. We decided on this car seat because we have used EB in the past. There was really only one problem so far with this seat. When I was installing the seat in the car I use the LATCH system the 2 side anchors went in just fine but when it came to the teather on the back it was difficult to put in because it uses the old fashioned "buckle" to keep it tight, unlike my britax where its like a regular seat strap and you can pull it tight this one does not work like that. So far the straps have not twisted like the other reviews have said. My son loves his new seat because it is easier for him to hop into. I highly recomend this seat ta anyone.

Well, the car seat it's self is great! The problem that I have had with these car seats is that I was installing two in my car and they are really "made" for either putting the seat in the middle...not an option when you have two or, for a bigger SUV or truck. I drive a smaller SVU and we ended up having to take the base off in order to get the seats in to where they weren't moving all over the place. When the boys get older and weight more, we are going to put the bases back on. Like I said, I love the seats themselves but, installing was less than fun!

I bought this car seat when my daughter was a year and 3 months and weighed 22 lbs. My daughter is turning 2 in June and the car seat is still in good condition. The harness is easy to adjust, easy to clean and easy to move from one car to another. I had it inspected at our local DMV and the inspector liked it. My husband and I had no regrets!

I am very happy with this car seat.I have a 2 year old who is 30 pounds and he is very comfortable in it. It is very easy to tighten or loosen with the press of a button. Also I have found that with previous car seats(I have a 5 year old) I had the same gripe when you tighten or loosen the straps, one side always seems to be much tighter. It drove me crazy. Not the case with this one. I highly recommend it !!!!

We bought this seat as a second seat for our other car when my son was 18 months old. He was already getting too big for the convertible seat, so we went for a booster with a harness. We love it! It installs very easily. We have it in our car in the middle recline position and it fits very well. I also love how easily the harness adjusts both for height and tightness. The harness was very difficult to tighten in our convertible car seat and the straps were always twisted. The straps never get twisted on this seat and it tightens and loosens very easily. My only complaint is how easily the cover comes off the seat by his feet. While this is great for cleaning, it's a bit of a pain when he is trying to get in and out by himself because it can fold under him. Overall, it's a great seat!

This the second one I bought for my daughter. The first one, as the baby grew, hunched her forward and she wasn't comforatble would get cranky after a few minutes (very stressful). Then we bought this one and she loves it. It reclines safely (one handed while driving), durable for the weight of older children and she's not doubled forward. The first car-seat was a waste of money - this is worth every penny.

This seat is great. I have two of them for my 3- year old twins. They are easy to install and fit very snug in my SUV (they do not move at all!). I have just returned from a 15- hour car ride with my children and had no complaints of being uncomfortable the entire trip. Which is pretty great because my son used to complain after 1 or 2 hours in his old car seat. I have not used them as a belt posistioning booster yet, but I am sure they will be just as great. I highly Recommend this seat.

We went from our infant carrier to this convertible car seat when our son was about 6 mos. old and still rear facing. Installation was easy, still is as we take it in and out sometimes. Now he's 2 1/2 and front facing is great because the head support is adjustable while child is in it, shoulder strap height, too. The straps are easily tightened and loosened, for those cold sweater days when we need more room. Love the cup holder, use it all the time. We've even taken it apart to wash in the washer and dryed on low, and the cover fit and everything went back together nicely, looked brand new. I know its on the quicklist recommendation on consumerreports. Rated 4 higher than britax Marathon. I felt guilty for buying under $200, especially reading reviews of britax saying its worth the extra money, but after seeing consumer report rating and where the differences are, I'm very happy with this seat. Plus this is his second seat, won't need a 3rd booster because this has the seat belt guides and accomodates to 100 lbs. So i thought that was even more value.

I am unhappy with the reclining feature on this carseat. Every time my child falls asleep her head falls forward because I am unable to get the seat to recline any further. I am returning, and, I paid $170 for this seat in the store. Will try a different brand.

I'm replacing after less than one year.

After happily owning a Britax and needing to go convertible for my very tall 2 1/2 yr old, I settled on this seat. I had read some negative reviews, but there were not a lot of good alternatives for this size seat. I had planned to use it for many years. Two months after purchase one of the buttons that lowers the armrest had popped off and was lost during a road trip. It is impossible to lower that armrest now. Four months after purchase the recline mechanism got stuck halfway and is no longer useful. As previous reviewers noted I also had trouble with the straps getting easily twisted in the buckles and the buckle mechanism being touchy from time to time. Now that my son is over 40 pounds, I am shopping for a replacement booster seat that doesn't have the 5-point harness. I was not impressed with this seat.

Great car seat.....however...do your own safety research

This car seat is great (we have 3 Cosco seats) but please keep in mind that when used as a seat belt positioned booster, 30-80lbs, the harness system within the seat does not get used also. Check with your user's manual and local police dept as for the proper installation and use of this seat. Using the harnesses built into the seat, along with the seat belts can also cause additional injuries if involved in a motor vehicle accident. One of the customer reviews stated that the mother used both the harness and seat belt with a 6 1/2 yr old. Not safe!!! Once the child fits into the seat belt booster position, remove or tuck away the harnesses.

We've had this seat a few months now and our child seems to enjoy it just fine.
br /
br /Unfortunately, Cosco "engineers" must have failed to realize that children do, at times, tend to throw-up, sling milk, stuff cheez-its and overall, trash a car seat over time.
br /
br /So I brought the old car seat in tonight to clean and let me tell you, you'll need a set of blue prints and a tool chest to get this thing prepped for the wash. It took me about a half-hour to pull the cushion off and I'm no slouch as a handy-man.
br /
br /So unless your OK with your car smelling like old milk or your child has perfect dining habits, look for a better design.
br /
br /So come on Cosco - Seriously!!!

Loved the back height and the seat depth on this as my son is tall. However within two days he complained of a backache. After several trips to the doctor, did it dawn on me to check the car seat. It has next to no padding in the lower back area and they are basically sitting with their backs on a piece of hard plastic. I hate this thing. Within two minutes he's uncomfortable and trying to move around. He ends up sideways to alleviate the pressure on his back.

Even after reading the reviews, I decided to try this seat out because my son seemed comfortable in the seat. Unfortunately the negative reviews are correct. The seat belt mechanism is overly complicated, the straps twist and the car seat does not recline unless you have a reclining back seat. An adult can certainly manage these things but if you have other children that you are trying to safely get into the car quickly it is way too high maintenance.

I bought this booster for my 3yr old because I wanted to give her Britax seat to her younger sister. I loved the look, and the adjustable armrest. However, the latch system was not easy to use. I could not get the latch straps tight enough and the booster was moving all over the place. When I tried to use the 3rd anchor for the top of the booster the strap popped off when I was tighting the anchor strap! I returned this seat and went back to Britax...I don't even know why the heck I left!

Our family travels a lot and will be in and out of the car. We already have an EB car seat/ booster we love, but it needed a transitional seat from the baby carrier/ car seat system we have for our infant to the height and weight it required. We didn't want to have to use a transitional seat and haul it with us everywhere as we're moving now with our second child on the way and big brother already in the EB he loves, so have done some homework and this one will meet where the infant carrier we have leaves off weight and height wise, around the one year mark! It is cheaper than the three in one and its less difficult to get your little ones in and out of than if you bought an all three in one, rather than use the carrier for car and stroller tranfer ease during the first year, then switch to this seat later. Otherwise your first year will be a lot of strapping and unstrapping a sleepy/ cranky little bundle everytime you need to go out. Leave them asleep and comfortable in their carrier, we say... Also, no worries on rear facing of the three in one not fitting your smaller car, as this seat takes over once your little one is ready to face forward, plus the sides go up for easier in and out and it reclines! Can't wait to try it out for real by having it shipped to our new place (not having to pay some moving company to tote two other car seats to our new residence) once our baby is old enough...

I registered for this seat and received it at my baby shower back in November. I am a first time mom and when i saw this it said for children 22-100 lbs so the other day, I decided to switch my 5 mo old son who is 20 lbs and 27" long into it. It turns out this seat is ONLY forward facing! So it cannot be used for children that small. It was a tiny bit mmisleading because of the weight and a lot of babies are 22 lbs way before their 1st birthday! So, if you are looking for this for your child under ONE YEAR OLD...look elsewhere. Look likes an ok seat though !

Had this seat for about a year before we had a problem. The seat does adjust nicely without taking out straps all the time. My son vomited all over the seat and the problem began. It took me several days to remove the seat cover for cleaning. You will want a seat to come off quite easily with an accident like that, make sure your's does!! I got it all cleaned and put back on, i should be good now until he does it again (in which case i would buy a new seat before attempting a removal again). Buyer beware!!

It amazes me that other car seat manufacturers can get the straps on their seats right, while the makers of this seat have failed - year after year. Why isn't it possible for them to get this straight? I am so frustrated with the amount of time it takes to actually get the straps fixed on this seat that I am replacing it with a Britax Regent. Should've bought Britax to begin with, would've save myself alot of time.

I was very unhappy with this car seat, I returned it after 2 days. My son is 2 years old and wieghs about 24lbs. The straps are really uncomfortable the middle piece that locks the seat belt in place was very tight and couldn't be adjusted any more loose. It was cutting into my sons thighs. The seat part where the butt sits on is very small, unless you put a child without a diaper or any clothes on their butt will not be in place or very comfortable. The carseat was all together not what I expected. Now I'm back to searching for another car seat, until then my little one is in his Evenflo carseat that fits kids upto 30lbs. and has been used by my other child, I love it but it's time for it to go soon because he is growing out of it.

Just some feed back on the bigger car seats. It really sux that we end up having to buy three car seats. Seems like Car seat engineers could do better. They all seem to be a total pain in the rear when it comes to going on a plain or to day care (when you need to drop off and pick up in different cars.) Being able to set up car seat bases in different cars would be a huge improvement since we could leave the seat with our kid at day care and switch it out into different cars without having to re-route the seat belt through it.
br /
br /To make a better car seat though, making the seat work more like roll along luggage, and/or adding backpack straps, handles, something to make it easier to move the seat around would be great.
br /
br /Also, the harnesses are constantly getting twisted up, and they are difficult to snap and unsnap. I'd suggest wrapping the belts in plastic or maybe braided aluminum flat tubing or something so that the belt can't twist. Also, it would be nice if the harness had one big button to unstrap it, and perhaps if the belts opened in a way that I didn't have to fed a kids flailing arms through loops of harness...
br /
br /Finally, it makes so much since to have the one seat that works in the stroller and the car. I'd suggest making a car seat base available that even the booster seats can be strapped into, or just putting some retractable casters on the bottom of the seat, and a retractable handle on the back.

I have a britax car seat, but decided to invest in another car seat so that family members would be able to take my daughter out too. The straps for this car seat is always twisitng the wrong way, the two metal inserts take about 5-7 min just to get it lined up so that you can get the lever into the buckle. This car seat is a pain in the rear end DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Latching system a pain

I bought this car seat for my 4 year old. So we never had to do the rear facing with it. So I have no comment on that. I do not like the latching system. I dont know if they are all like this, but I think it is miserable. You have to have it a certain special way before it will connect/snap into place. One has to overlay the other and it has to fit just so into the lock. It is not a lock and go kind of chair. I would say it takes me at least over a minute to get him clicked in there. I have had this for about 7 months and it still makes me curse when I put him in there.
br /
br /I am sure it is safe, but it is a pain. Also when he falls alseep he tends to fall forward. I liked the ones that cushioned him. I like thed one we had before. I forgot the name. It was more like two slots went into the groin snap, where is this is one overlaying the other and then snapping in..
