May limit visability

With the rear-facing infant seat in the recommended middle seat of our sedan, this mirror limits driver visability. When the mirror is positioned so the driver can see the baby in the rearview mirror, a large section of the back windshield is blocked. I'm glad we kept the box so we can exchange it for a different mirror.

The 2 previous reviews make good points. Mine is about the general uselessness of the item even IF it was a good idea - and the other 2 reviews raise excellent points.
I bought this so I could see my rear-facing infant. First of all, it is next to impossible to install in about the most common SUV seen on the road (Ford Escape). Ours doesn't have a headrest in the middle...and the option we have according to the directions simply doesn't work. After getting creative, I was finally able to get the thing to stay put reliably. The second problem came when I went to actually use it to play music and the lightshow. I clicked the remote (the ONLY way to turn the sound and lights on) and nothing. It seems to want to work only if the moon is in the right position and you hold your face in a certain position. I am serious...the thing is a complete waste of money.
Unfortunately, my husband tossed the box and the receipt by accident (didn't realise I wasn't done with it all yet) and now I can't return it. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
Save your money!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do NOT buy this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This mirror really isn't worth the money. You'd be better off just buying a plain mirror for baby to look in and for you to look at baby, that's about all this thing does. The remote control has to be pointed directly at the mirror, kinda hard to do driving down the road. Also, the music isn't very loud, atleast not loud enough to get baby's attention when upset, which is what I was hoping for. And the lights aren't very bright. Really can't see that they even light up unless it's very dark out. Also, the positioner works fairly well when baby is facing backwards, but once you turn baby around and have to attach the mirror to the back of the front seat, it doesn't stay in place that well. You could spend alot less money for just a plain baby -in-sight mirror.
Not impressed

I was very disappointed in this mirror. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because I do use the mirror. I have a 2000 VW Passat with a headrest in the middle seat so I had no problem installing it. It's great to watch my little one while I drive. I do see the other reviewer's point about it being a safety issue because you kind of get obsessed with watching your baby and you should keep your eyes on the road. However, it never obstructed my view at all.
I registered for this because of the remote control feature. Well, the remote control only turns the unit on and off and you have to keep the switch on the unit "on" (remote control access mode) in order for it to work. There's a switch on the unit to play music OR turn the lights on and play music. You cannot control that feature from the remote control. You also cannot control the volume from the remote. It's really a pain. I'm keeping it because I like the mirror but I'm not happy with it. Save your money and buy the SafeFit Baby In Sight mirror.

I had no problem installing this mirror and it works great for me to keep an eye on my baby when driving. The light show and music are nice but the music is too low even at the highest setting which makes ita problem when it get noisy on the road, other than that its a good product and it attaches safely to the head rest.
We love it!!!

I absolutely love this mirror. It definitely captures her attention when she starts fussing. The lights aren't as visible during daylight hours, but that's to be expected. We just took a trip and it was hugely helpful and I love the size of the mirror. I can see her very well and she can see herself too. I had purchased a regular mirror - (SafeFit) which serves it's purpose, but for a few extra dollars this one works for her and me :) You won't be dissapointed. I also love that the music stays on.
I really like this mirror!!

I first bought the SafeFit mirror, and was not pleased with it. I bought this mirror because of the remote. I have a Ford Freestyle with a headrest in the middle, so it fit perfectly and does not block my view. I bought a mirror, so she would have something other than a carseat to look at while I'm driving, not so that I could look at her, even though I can see her from my rearview mirror. I have used it from the passenger seat to see her, and to relocate a pacifier. What I like about it is that once you turn it on, it stays on. I don't have to turn it on every five minutes like some toys. It also has adjustable noise levels, and lights and/or music, but you obviously can't do that from the front seat, so I leave it on the same setting. I have had no problem with turning it on with the remote, I have it clipped to my sun visor, and it works from there (but the angle is right in my car, I guess). The only complaint I would have is that the lights are hard to see in the daytime, but she seems entertained by what she sees in the mirror and the music, and at night watches the lights. It's a little more expensive, but worth the money in my opinion.

I am surprised to read that people don't like this mirror. We have had it since our son was 1 mon. and we still use it at 7 mon. We have a Trailblazer and it installed easily and we can see him great even over his Britax Marathon carseat. It has been great for road trips (our son was entertained even on a 9-hour trip) and has been a blessing for short trips to the store. We don't always use the music/lights but the mirror is always handy. We have never had trouble with it being too soft. I have given this as shower gifts and my friends have been pleased as well. Def. recommended.
NOT RECOMMENDED BY CHP!!

I went to the CHP office to get my car seat checked, and the officer said that auto mirrors are not approved and considered a major safety hazard during an automobile crash because they can become a projectile, possibly injuring or killing your child. DO NOT BUY!!
