The travelmate is awesome, especially if you are traveling alone. It will make your life so much easier. You'll get a lot of compliments at the airport, too. I really don't think there is a better product available. It did not fit through the X-ray machine at the airport or down the aisle on the plane. While those were slight inconveniences, I would still highly recommend this product. However, make sure you get the new and improved version of the UNI06. The wheels of the original travelmate I got were held on by metal caps. The wheel fell off when I was making my connecting flight the first time I used it. I had to scour the airport in search of the tiny metal cap. Without the wheel attached it's useless! I sent that travelmate back and got a replacement. The new one I received has tension springs in the wheels and was manufactured March 2007. It looks so much more durable and safer than the previous travelmate I owned. Plus, no more tiny metal caps to worry about.
Makes traveling MUCH easier!

**Update** I have been using this product for over 6 months and it still works great and makes life so much easier! I've been lending it to my friends for use on their trips and they love it as well. 5+ stars.
I love this product. I travel a lot with my son and this makes our lives so much easier. It is very light and easy to attach to the carseat (a Britax Decathlon) and can stay attached to the carseat and fit into an airplane or car seat. For the airplane seat you may need a seatbelt extender. This product makes the transportation of the carseat easier as well--sometimes I put my son in a stroller and hook the carseat to the stroller handles and tow it. It is extremely easy to steer. I highly recommend this product for those with children who travel a lot.

We just got back from a trip from Orlando to Chicago using the travelmate and it was quite the success!! As another reviewer noted, I had many people stop me to ask where I got it, especially the jealous looking man who was lugging his toddlers seat on his back!! This carrier is a DREAM, I was traveling alone w/ my 19 month old son and he had his own seat on the plane (if your little one is riding on your lap, you can check this at the gate just as you would a stroller so you cal have it available at your destination gate) and I planned to rent a car at our destination, so I really needed to take his carseat, but couldn't imagine how I would manage a car seat, a stroller, our carry on and him with only my 2 hands. This was the perfect solution. I was able to leave the stroller home, and w/ him strapped into the seat I could just push him along and all I had to carry was my bag. Once we got the Chicago, I was able to pop the wheels off and put the seat w/ the carrier attached right into our rental car using the latch system. You can probably even leave the wheels on, but I felt this tilted the seat a bit forward and we had quite a ways to drive and I knew my son would be dozing, I didn't want him lolling forward, but that is a personal prefeence. The only issues I had w/ the carrier aren't the carriers fault, they are the airlines. In Orlando it fit right through the X-ray machine no problem, but in Chicago it was WAY too big. Unlike some other reviwers I did not have to take it apart though, the security guy just took it aside and swiped it with a wand (simimlar to what they would do w/ a wheelchair), if you have someone try to make you take your seat off the carrier, ask them to do this instead, it was no biggie and actually was a help as I had to put shoes back on me and my son so we needed a minute anyway. The other issue I had was on our plane, I could not roll my son down the aisle in the seat, it is too wide, even after taking the wheels off (I thought that would give me enough clearance & I could just drag him) it was too wide (I have the Alpha Omega Eddie Bauer seat, which is a monster, I admit) so I had to take him out of the seat and hustle him down to row 17 and carry the seat, which was a bit difficult as I am 5'2", so I was pretty much carrying it over my head to clear the seats, but there was no way I could carry it that distance w/ my 25 lb son in it. It also would only fit in the seat w/ the wheels off, but that is no biggie, they pop right on and off. Coming home, I upgraded us to business class, and that was much easier, we were in the first row so I could roll the carseat that far and the seats were MUCH wider, I was able to put the seat in w/o taking the wheels off, if you can do this I would, it made it a snap to get in and out, I never had to take him out of the seat. We are going to NYC next month for a wedding and will take his seat and this carrier again, it was well worth the price for the ease of traveling!
This item is gold.

This gogo Kidz Travelmate worked great at the airport. It was pretty easy to figure out how to put together. I have a Britax Boulevard car seat. Like some of the other reviews said, when going through airport security it did not fit through the x-ray machines but TSA wanded it instead. It was really no problem. I would not recommend dragging down stairs however; the bottom of my car seat got scratched. Also other reviews say that you can leave the wheels on in the car and you can but the instructions do not recommend this because it has not been tested for safety. Overall this product made going through the airport a breeze and I received many complements on it.

This is a great gadget if you want to bring your child's carseat on the plane but think it would be too much hassle to have a carseat and a stroller. My almost-2-year-old daughter LOVED being wheeled through the airport in her seat -- she thought it was an amusement park ride. It's lightweight and very maneuverable, even when you're pulling a suitcase with your other hand and have various carry-on bags draped across your body!
The only problems we had were:
1 - Most airplane aisles are not wide enough to allow the child to ride down the aisle in the seat. That leaves you with a carseat, carry-on bags, and a small child to wrangle onto the plane. Not a problem if you have more than one adult per child, but a hassle for a parent traveling solo. Other passengers (or in one case the flight attendant) had to help me. (Of course, this would be a problem if you had a stroller too, since you'd need to gate-check it.)
2 - The instructions say you can use the seat on the plane with the wheels still attached, but while this is technically possible, I preferred to take them off. As the other reviewer said, the wheels tip the seat so far forward that the child doesn't recline at all, which seems uncomfortable. It's also more cumbersome to install the seat with the wheels on it than to carry them separately.
3 - It won't fit through most baggage scanners with the wheels attached, so be prepared to take them off at security and reattach them afterwards. If your child is a bolter, you may want to have a safety harness for this phase.
The wheels are pretty quick to attach and remove, though it helps a lot to practice several times at home.
We've only used this once so far, but even for that, it was worth the purchase price.
Couldn't think of traveling without it, but still has some room for improvement

I love this product for the reason that it makes traveling with my 1-yr old far easier than it was beforehand. That said, I don't know why they don't put quick releases on attachment as it takes 2 minutes to get the screws on/off. This is isn't a big deal unless the car seat does not fit into the xray unless the wheels are off, and they won't wand as everybody else suggested...and then 2 minutes can seem like a long time. Of course, I usually try and game it and hope that the unit does fit, which means that it becomes a flurry when I find out that it doesn't fit. Further, although I have not had a problem keeping the unit on when in the airplane, it can be extremely difficult getting the seatbelt through the back of the seat as the attachment is right where the seatbelt needs to go. Since the child has to sit next to the window with the seat, this means that it's even more complicated. I can do this with my smaller hands and a couple of minutes of trying, but my husband, with the size of his hands can't maneuver and has to remove the unit if he is sitting next to our child. In that case, it then becomes annoying once again to have to deal with the screws for the attachment. That said, despite the issues, I would highly recommend this product for the fact that there's nothing better out there and it does make a world of difference.

Gogo Babyz Travelmate
I only wish I had purchased this product sooner! We recently went on a trip and the Gogo Babyz Travelmate was a lifesaver! It simply attaches to the carseat you already have and then you can pull your child through the airport (almost like a stroller). This way we didn't have to push a stroller and carry a carseat. We simply checked the stroller and pushed our child in the carseat using the Gogo Babyz attachment. When you're on the airplane or in your car you don't have to take off the attachment it simply slides down out of the way.
The only thing that was a little tricky is the handle. It takes some time getting use to locking it in place.
Great product

This worked well at our recent trip to the airport. We buckled our daughter into the airplane seat with the go go kidz travelmate attached to the seat (wheels and all). It didn't fit down the aisle of the Embraer that we flew, but it did fit down the bigger Boeing. Worth the money.

If you are traveling on a plane more than twice in the next three years (or in the life of your current carseat), then you NEED one of these.
My husband and I found out about the gogokidz right when our daughter became too big for her carrier-style carseat AND we were bound for FLA a month later. We lamented the loss of the super-convenient carrier (we had carried her in the basket on and off three flights before she was 5 months old) and wondered what to do. This thing was a LIFESAVER for the next stage - 6 months to 3 or 4.
When you get to the airport, just unbuckle the seatbelt on the car seat and take child out (still in the seat) and put him on the ground. Attach this rolly thing (will take a little practice) to the carseat and roll him right into the airport. Get a stroller bag for your stroller and pad it with all the extra stuff (blankets, diapers, toys, etc.) and check it at the gate with all your other bags. Better yet, have grandma and grandpa (or whomever you are visiting) buy a cheap stroller for their house so you don't have to fly with yours (unless you need the extra space provided by the stroller bag, we always do...)
The only real bummer about this thing is the carseat won't fit in the xray machine with it on, so you have to take it off at security and then put it back on after it goes through the scanner. But I think this is a minor inconvenience to deal with when the alternative is either carrying the darn bulky thing or, worse, renting a carseat when you get to a destination (almost the price of a carseat in itself!) I also like the piece of mind I have knowing we are traveling with our own good carseat.
One caveat: Do NOT put this thing on for CAR TRAVEL. It renders all the wonderful safety features of the carseat USELESS. VERY DANGEROUS. Use it at the airport. Many leave it on in the plane, I think it makes my daughter uncomfortable because it puts her so far forward in the seat, so I take it off.

We traveled from NY to CO and this made the treks through the airports easy. They were easy to hook up and then when it's time to use the carseats in the rental, all you do is pop off the wheels which takes seconds and install the carseat. We had 2 of them for our 4 and 2 yr olds and they loved the ride. We must have been asked at least 5 times where we got them!

this was a life saver. I recently traveled with my two kids by myself to Florida. This made the airport a breeze. My four year old even pushed it when my hands were full. A great buy!! Thanks for making our trip a little easier.

I purchased this product for our recent vacation and it worked wonderfully on our Britax Boulevard car seat. Attaching the Travelmate was easy and quick and it was great to wheel my daughter through the airport and not have to hold her hand while carrying the heavy car seat. I highly recommend this product to all who travel with young children.
