I have never written a review but am so pleased with this car seat, I would like to share my opinion. I delivered my daughter ten weeks ago and was very happy with the quilted cover and oversized visor. Considering the weather was still chilly, this helped provide extra protection from the elements. I have five sisters who all delivered babies within four months of my baby and we all have different car seats. It seems that this car seat by comparison has the best scenario for growth. Often times it seems that when the babies are newborn the car seats swallow them whole in an effort to be useful when they are bigger. This car seat has very effective and adjustable supports for the head and hips as well as a belt that has the five point harness that starts very small and grows with the child, better than any my sisters have. When we had the certified instructors at the fire department help us install this car seat, they were very pleased to see the adjustable base. I have read critiques of the loud clicking noise that is made when the handle is adjusted to the back position while driving and our solution has been just to go slow when repositioning and it can be moved without that clicking noise. And if your baby is sleeping, you tend to go slower anyhow. The only other improvement I could suggest would be to add a line to show if the base is level, where now it is only on the car seat itself. I really like the little window in the visor which makes it easy to see the baby from the front seat. Finally, I did a lot of research prior to purchasing the first car seat for our first child. I would recommend this car seat to anyone and plan to keep it for any additional children we may have. Thanks for reading.

My girlfriend, Suzanne, bought this car seat for me as a baby gift six weeks ago when my son was born. I have been so pleased with the car seat from day one. It is so well made, and just beautiful. The head support and hip supports are all made in leather, which provides awesome support for my baby. I love the five point harness system as well, and it is so easy to use. I've gotten so many compliments on the seat itself. I didn't find it too heavy to carry, and my son weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz., and I also had a c-section.
br / I want to share something that happened yesterday, a freak accident, and how this car seat saved my babies life. We were in a store, and I had my son strapped in his car seat on the top of the shopping cart. My three year old son was walking beside the cart, and somehow managed to turn the shopping cart over on top of himself, and the car seat came loose, and completely tumbled over and then bounced three times five feet across the floor on its side, and my son was perfectly fine! The straps held him securely in place, and the headrest and hip pads kept him from being jarred around. His pediatrician told me that this car seat saved his life. I can't thank the company enough for making such a wonderful item, or Suzanne for sending it to me. I would definitely recommend this car seat!

My husband, and I LOVE this car seat. So does our baby girl. It is SO soft, and during the winter months it helped keep her snug, and warm. She LOVES to feel the different textures of the fabrics. The safety belt is soft too unlike some. After having used three different car seats for our other three children this by FAR has been the BEST one. It has style, convenience, and comfort, and it is EASY to install. It is not too heavy, and the colors are great. Also it is comfortable to carry. It is EASY to put baby in, and take out. The orange "Push" button on the safety belt is not TOO hard to push unlike some others we tried out at the store, and we love how the safety belt is designed to fit securely, and comfortably around baby. Our daughter is almost 9 months old, and weighs 17 pounds. It's almost time to buy a new one. We are planning on buying the Eddie Bauer Manchester 3 in one Elite Car Seat. I hope it lives up to the infant car seat! I would HIGHLY recommend this infant car seat!

Well all i have to say is woo hoo! I had a c section and i have to say that toting my baby around ( 8 lbs at birth) was easier than i thought. Yes the seat is a little heavy but that is a good thing due to u know that if you got in a crash it is a durable seat. The seat is great also because it isnt stuffed with alot of pads all around so in the summer time when the sun glares ina little it doesnt make your baby sweat. I like the 5 point harnes deal. It gives parents a piece of mind when they have all these straps going everywhere. The latch system is great too becase it is actually anchored to your car and not just the seat belt. IT was a little confusing trying to figure it out but when you read the directions good and slow it all makes sense. I would suggest this car seat to anyone who can afford it. I also checked the recal list and there are a ton of carseats by other manufacturs but the eddie bauer one is not a recall it passed all safety tests.

As a first time mom, I had nothing to go by except for the reviews posted on this site about this particular car seat. My daughter spent 12 months in this seat and my experience with it was wonderful. It was very easy to detach from the base and the handle was very sturdy. The base provided a recline which was very helpful on long trips. The material was easy to clean and didn't stain easily either. I highly recommend this car seat!!

I have twins a boy and a girl. I decided that instead of switching the carseats and bases between my car, my husbands car, and grandparents car we would buy extra carseats. We already had Graco travel systems with the carseats but decided on getting 2 extra seats. After A LOT OF EXTENSIVE SEARCHING we were torn between the Prego and Eddie Bauer. Our friends had the Prego and felt their child was always hot and always uncomortable. So we took the babies to the store with us and tested them we felt the Eddie Bauer seats would be the best ones for us. They may be a little heavier than the Graco seats but to me its just safer for them to be heavy. I can still cary both of the kids around in them at 5 months old without a lot of problems. The kids fall alseep in them very easily. They are sturdy safe seats. Easy to get in and out of the car without waking up a sleeping baby. The colors are great for either boy or girl. And its so easy to clean. I have washed the seats once a month for almost 6 months and they still look like brand new. The other plus is how easily they fit on the Manchester double stroller. And makes it easy for me to take the kids out for the day by myself. The only downside is that boot that comes along which seems to fall off, but that is not really a big deal. All around its a great wise investment.

Nice looking and sturdy, but needs some improvements.

What I liked this item is:
br /
br /1. After going thru the other travel systems on display in the store, it was the easiest car-seat to pop in and out of the stroller;
br /2. I liked the fabric pattern
br /
br /There are some things that really need to be improved about the seat:
br /
br /1. When you move the carrying handle into position, it clicks REALLY LOUD when it snaps into place and wakes up my baby everytime unless I squeeze the sides of the handle as I'm lowering it.
br /2. Latching the lower portion of the restraint (in-between the legs) is difficult because you have to line up the plastic pieces on each side of the strap like pieces of a puzzle just perfectly or it won't go into the latch---so, forget about doing this with one-hand.
br /3. Unlatching the lower strap is difficult as you have to press REALLY HARD on the button to release it---again, you need 2 hands---one hand underneath the latch to give you leverage to push (so you're not crushing your baby's crotch area) and the other hand to push the button.

THis baby seat was basically a good seat. The only thing I did not care for was the sun shade. It would not stay UP on my seat. It kept falling down and hanging under the seat when I picked the seat up. So I just ended up taking it off of my seat and wearing hats on my little girl to shade her from the sun. Other then that, it was great. Lots of head support!!!!!!!!!!

Like most of you, as a new parent I checked reviews and reports before purchasing my baby's car seat. I bought the Cosco Eddie Bauer Car Seat and it is amazing. It is easy to install and I drive of a Honda Accord so ease was a concern. The seat is nicely padded for my little ones ride. It has the great Cosco brand which according to consumer reports is the most purchased brand with the least amount of recalls. I am very happy with the car seat. In fact my best friend is pregnant and I already recommended it for her.

This has been the biggest aggravation. Other than it looking nice and having the Eddie Bauer name on it, I think it's crap. It's too wide getting it in and out of the car. The handle is not ergonomically shaped. And when carrying a baby around this needs to be comfortable. It's not easy to pinch the handle release and move it back or forward. The cover gets in the way when trying to put the handle back. It's extremely difficult to put the carseat in the base. Finding where it snaps in is an annoyance. I have to slide it back and forth to find where it goes. I have to press down on both sides for it to snap in. It doesn't just snap easily. When taking the seat out of the base, it doesn't just come out when you pull the release. I have to pull the release numerous times to finally get the sucker out. And in doing so it moves the base from it's secure position. The buckle is hard to snap. Even my husband has a hard time putting that puzzle piece buckle in the latch along with putting and taking the carseat in and out. When tightening or loosening the straps, using two hands you have to reach behind the carseat and pull or tighten each side. The cover is flimsy and two hands are needed to cover the child. It's not worth the money or time. I won't buy anything from Cosco again. I now use the Graco Quattro Tour Travel System and LOVE IT!!!!.

Thought we checked everything, but....

Liked/Disliked By the time our son was two weeks old my husband and I were purchasing our third car seat.We chose this seat because our son's fit was snug and secure. Something that was a problem with the others we owned, our son's head dangled no matter what level it was adjusted, even with a head support. So, this time we took our son in the store and fit him in every car seat they had in stock. This model far exceeded the others in regards to a secure fit.It was also very easy to get our son in and out of, in reference to the actual car seat.Problems: First, if your vehicle isn't equipped with the latch system, which one of ours was not, the base is hard to keep from moving more than the one inch recommened by law enforcement. We were able to prop the base with a towel as recommended, and then my husband with all his might would tighten the seat belt and knot, so that it would not loosen, which kept the base from moving. I personally never took the base out because I could not tighten it to keep it from moving. The whole process was quite an ordeal. However, we found that when the seat was placed on leather interior we did not have this problem at all, only with cloth interior.Secondly, the arm when raised and lowered has a loud clicking sound which woke our baby whenever he was sleeping. The arm was also physically difficult to move up and down.Third, putting our son/carseat back in the base, required physically getting in our vehicle and pushing down and then pulling on the seat it self, because at times only one side would engage. However, the release for being able to pull the baby/carseat out together - easily, works great! Fourth, now that our son is at 22 lbs, which is the maximum weight allowance for this model, we must buy another seat. We cannot forward face the seat and be able to use for weights up to 35-40 lbs. Overall:50/50We had no other option.

Nice looking and easy to use.

I love this car seat. I babysat for a little girl who had the same one and when I registered for my own baby I knew this was the one I wanted. The colors go easily for a boy or girl and it is made very well so it can be used again for future children. It is a little heavy, but there are only a handful of infant car seats out there that are lighter. Plus lets face it, once your sweet little baby starts putting on the pounds all carriers are heavy. This seat is easy to clean and extremely easy to install. I would recommend this to all parents. The belt fastening is a little tricky to figure out the first time, but once you figure it out it's a piece of cake.

Love the car seat overall- nice thick foam padding and it seems extremely comfortable for our son. Rugged- held up fine through airline baggage (in the separately sold carrying case). Only frustration is the checkered fabric, which quickly became "pilly" and rough under his feet and calves from his activity. Surprised a premium brand would do so. I would also suggest purchasing little padded strap covers from the get go- again surprised a premium brand wouldn't include them. Funny how you notice different things after the baby- when we registered we chose based on non-recalled brands and the color of the upholstery. But overall very happy with carseat and how well it has held up.

When I was pregnant, I saw this carseat and knew that it was the one I had to have. I liked how the print didn't seem to favor one sex. Most of the seats in the store are blue or have little animals all over it (I'm not big on those animal prints.) Anyway, my daughter is now 4 months old and I haven't had a problem yet. I love the infant head insert. She just seems more snug and comfortable in it. And I absolutely love the big canopy. It's so much bigger than the rest. In response to those saying that the handle clicks too loud, just hold the parts in some so that when they snap into place, they don't click. Either way, my daughter is now used to the click it makes. Now I just can't wait to buy the 3-1 convertable carseat for her! :)

I only gave this car seat 1 star because I really don't like it, the only thing I do like is the print, it is classy, but everything else is terrible. The car seat itself weighs about a hundred pounds, it is very uncomforatible to carry, the canopy thing never stays up and worst of all the straps keep coming undone, I believe this carseat should get rechecked by those safety people because those straps coming undone all the time is very dangerous. If I could I would like my money back and as of today I am searching for a new car seat.

We bought this car seat to replace one that would not fit in the middle seat. Our son never cried in the other car seat. The only time he does not cry in this car seat is when we are moving. He is not comfortable in the seat when we are sitting still. The straps are not easily adjustable. You have to adjust them from the back whereas other seats have a strap in the front. The handle is straight across which makes it more difficult to carry. Also, the handle is very loud when it snaps into place almost always waking up our baby. I think there are better car seats out there for the same price.

I am a first time mom. I looked at all the travel systems before buying this one. If you read the manual there would not be so many complaints about this seat. The straps have never come loose, they twist on occasion but what seat belt doesn't? It snaps easily into the base. The latch is tricky at first if you are not familiar with using a car seat. I would buy this seat again. If it were unsafe I would not put my baby in it for one second.

overall this is a very attractive seat. my hubbie and i chose it because of the suede appearance. my 2 month old fits very comfortably and i especially appreciate the harness, which does not need to go over his head, and the canopy which pulls down quite far and has a vinyl window so he doesnt feel like hes in a cave. however, the seat weighs a ton and is about 25% larger than most seats. i wind up using it sans the base because its very akward lifting it high enough into the back seat of an suv to snap it in. i have to climb in every time to use the lap belt to secure it. alternately, it wont fit into our volvo sedan without the base to lift it some 5-6 inches off of the seat. for the price, id definitely buy this seat again.

We are very pleased with this car seat. The head support works wonders and the material is very soft and cushiony making traveling for our newborn an enjoyable experience. Yes, the seat is a little on the heavy side, but that is something that I am willing to deal with considering all of the other benefits. As for the loud clicking noise that the handle makes when being lifted into place - babies should get used to noise. Over sensitizing a child can lead to you having to tiptoe around them and can make it very hard to get a child to sleep and let you have the rest needed. On the negative side - I do find the handle not quiet long enough, especially when the canopy is up. This does make it a little difficult to carry the seat for long distances. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend it for others.

We received this carseat as a baby gift for our new son who is now 5 months old. I receive more comments on the look and quality of this carseat than any previous carseats (I have 3 other children, he is #4!) The latch is tricky at first, but easy to use after you catch on. Took me a day or two to get it down! Once they are strapped in though - VERY secure! I am very comfortable with his safety in this carseat. I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful carseat and will be purchasing the upright Eddie Bauer seat after my son has outgrown this one!

br /4 great things about this car seat:
br /-Super easy to install
br /-Wide, so it works for your baby for a long time. Most newer versions of infant car seats are very narrow and kids outgrown them quick
br /-the feet protector is great for cooler temperatures
br /-the head cushion: they sell this separately for $10+... so you save some bucks here

I would not give any stars to this item, but you have to put at least one. I would not recommend this car seat to anyone. Basically you are paying for the name and nothing else. The base and seat are very flimsy. You have to adjust the straps from the back of the seat which is very inconvenient and after strapping the child in it still doesn't feel secure. Also the canopy is worthless, the back part is not even connected to the seat, it hangs down and doesn't attach to anything. The worst part is that it does not snap into the base easily. You have to move it all around to get it into place. I received this car seat and the Graco Snugride both as gifts. I highly recommend the Graco seat for your baby.

We recieved this car seat as a gift. We were initially very pleased because it is amazingly stylish for baby gear. The problems arrived when our little man did. He HATES it! The head/body support made him extremely uncomfortable- he would cry immediately upon being placed in it. We removed that. But he still cries as soon as the straps are fastened- something about them is very uncomfortable. We've tried loosening them, but there is not enough strap material to keep him safely fastened (it slips when there is too little). He's not that big a baby, but after only 3 months, we're going to have to buy a new seat! Also, the seat is enormous and difficult to carry compared with others. I don't recommend this seat at all!

Living in Chicago, one day Baby is in a t-shirt and the next, we're dragging out the polarfleece. This car seat does not have the button to tighten and loosen so it's an ordeal. As a result, he is not always strapped in as tightly as he should be. I would have chosen a different seat if I knew this.

This car seat is very appealing to the eye, but it's pretty heavy and the straps seem to twist rather easily which is a big pain in the neck when you are trying to strap in the baby cause it will not work right until you get the straps fixed. Baby seems to like it though ... must be very comfy!

I liked this car seat. I only had two problems. In the beginning, it was hard to lock into the base, but after I figured out to go at it from an angle, I had no problems. Secondly, the shade visor cannot be taken off and washed. After a while, the shade visor gets pretty nasty.

We have been very satisfied with this infant carrier. It lasts a little longer than the Graco's. It is true... the handle does make a loud sound when it clicks into place. This is EASILY resolved by holding in the release latch until it is in place. Other carrier handles are quieter, but I think any of the carriers handles popping into place would wake a sleeping baby. We had no problems with installation. We have it in the backseat of a honda civic coupe. The adjustable base works great! No need for towels or noodles for us and our backseat is very slanted.

I bought this seat initially because of the looks. It really does look very nice. I like the suede material it has in place of the Ashford line that has the microfiber, as the microfiber shows every water spot as a stain. Our baby is a big baby and we didn't have to use the newborn insert for very long. He is now 5.5 months old. The seat still looks like brand new and he still fits in there great. I have not had the problems with the visor that others describe. Ours stays up just fine and you can remove it to wash it. You just have to slide up the material and unhook the tab under there. I don't think they have a matching single stroller, so I bought the Ashford, which is a very close match. I carry the car seat over my forearm like you might carry a purse. It puts much less strain on your back than carrying your arm extended and is very easy to handle this way. I have no complaints about the seat. We'll be buying the Eddie Bauer Manchester 3 in 1 when the baby graduates out of the infant seat.

Thank you Graco!

I thought I was spending too much for a car seat. That's not the case.Me and my son were in a car wreck. The other driver hit us at 45 miles an hour or more.We got hit pretty hard.Totaled the car on impact. My son is 2 1/2 months old he weighs about 13 pounds. He came out without a scratch, the seat never moved. It is a little heavy to carry with the child in it.Well worth the trouble and money. It did take a little practice learning how to install the seat properly.Me and my husband learned how to do this before the baby was born.We were experts by the time the baby was born. Now I'm coming back to buy this seat again to replace the one in the crash. Thanks so much Graco!

I purchased this car seat for my daughter, my third child. It is wonderful. It has the built in head padding that keeps her tiny 6 week old head from flopping from side to side. It also matches my 2 year olds convertible car seat and the interior of my vehicle. This car seat also fits into the tandem stroller. I did not find the base to be any harder to install than other car seats( I do not have LATCH).Yes, the handle does make a loud noise but, my daughter has not been bothered by it for more than a second. Overall, it is a very sturdy car seat and I feel comfortable that my daughter is safe and secure in it wherever we go.

We placed this car seat on our registry because we thought that the Eddie Bauer brand would be of good quality, but the straps always slip after about a week of use. The visor doesn't stay up either-it's very flimsy! We did drive accross the country with our daughter at 3 months, and she was comfortable for the entire ride. Overall our daughter likes her car seat, but I question it's safety.

I really like this product. Easy install, can buy extra bases, it is safe, and the positions are really nice. My son falls asleep as soon as we put in him. Some of the downfalls would be the handle is hard to grip and makes a big clicking sound. Unfortunally it is only rear facing and my son is three months and almost has out grown it.

This is one of the most plush car seats around. The baby is also covered almost completly by the hood and the blanket. Love the fact that you can leave the base in the car and don't have to struggle with getting it buckled in correctly each time you take the child out of the car. If I was an infant this would be the car seat I would pick.

My son is 3 months old. We bought this seat because the seat my son was using was causing him meltdowns in the car, where he would scream as soon as he knew he was going to be put into it, until we got where we were going and he was taken out, still shrieking and crying. This seat had good reviews and looked good, so we bought it, hoping it wouldn't cause the meltdowns.
br /Amazingly, my son has ridden in it and already fallen asleep in it, in the car! I can't believe it! I think it's the hip roll and sun shade that helped, and it's very nicely padded. His other seat (a big brand name seat, too) did NOT have the cushy padding. Also, the nice dark pattern will help hide dirt or stains.
br /Personally, he hates the headrest but if your baby likes their heads to stay secure, it should be fine.
br /The things I don't like is that the handle of the seat isn't ergonomically made, and the sun shade does feel flimsy, like a gust of wind would blow it right off. Also, the locks deserve some practicing before you get them right.
br /Overall, very happy, I can't believe my baby slept in the car.

Worked fine for us.

I brought my son home from the hospital in this seat. It worked fine for us until he was about 5 or 6 months old and weighed 20lbs (the weight limit). It was not this exact pattern that I had but it was this same seat. Anyway, the seat worked fine for us and my sister in law used it after me. I have it stored in a spare room in case anyone else might need to use it. Yes, the visor is flimsy but I had no real trouble with it. The only thing I did not like was the loud click that you would get when moving the carrier handle. It would wake a sleeping baby unless you were very slow about moving the handle.

I haven't had the opportunity to put this car seat to the test yet (4 months to go) but I can say that I have not seen another seat that even comes close in terms of strength and style. There is one thing that prevents it from getting five stars and that's the fact that there's nothing to hook the back end of the hood to the body of the seat. So if for any reason you pull the hood too far forward, you pull out the back of the hood and have to fix it. Other than that, though, I am confident that I got great value for money and that my baby will be both safe and comfortable.

My husband and I love our son's car seat. Very nice-looking car seat for the price! I have been having trouble getting the clasps open and closed, but my hubby can get it no problem. That is my only problem. Love it though!!!

This is the second Eddie Bauer infant seat that we have had for our 4 kids. This newer model has a better buckle and the handle is easier to raise/lower than our first seat purchased in 2003. The design of the bottom of this seat allows it to "snap" onto many models of grocery carts for added safety. The only drawback is that it also only snaps securely onto Eddie Bauer brand strollers. We have invested in these strollers (which we are also a big fan of) so haven't had any issues with this seat at all. Good value for the $$.

This is a great seat. I have had three girls and bought three different infant seats and this is as good as graco and has more accessories for half the price. Releases easy from base and is very sturdy and skinnier than some other models if you need room for three carseats in you car at once. Great seat Great Buy

I LOVED IT!! My son is almost 10 months old now and ready to move on to a larger seat but i was totally impressed with this one. My only complaints...a little on the heavy side (but so was my son at 10lbs 23inches at birth) and i wish the handle was different so it was easier to carry. Other than that it was perfect. Very sturdy and didnt budge while strapped in the car. If you are looking for a very safe seat this is the one. I highly recommend it!

I was completely happy with my Eddie Bauer Infant Car Seat. I needed one because my new granddaughter was visiting from out of state. The car seat looked nearly brand new. It was easy to use and both the baby and her mother were pleased with it. With the base in the car, we used the car seat both in the house and for travel safety. Both baby and her mother were pleased with it. We plan to use it for this baby, and for more grandchildren in the future.

Terrible Buy...not worth it.

At first glace this car seat is very appealing. We bought because it was an Eddie Bauer and we really liked the pattern. We thought that buying an Eddie Bauer named product would be good quality, but we were wrong. It is very very poorly constructed and the doesn't always lock into the base very well. The hood is poorly made and very flimsy.
br /We decided to return it before our daughter was born and went with a Graco car seat and have been very pleased.

We wanted this carseat when we found out we were having a girl b/c it was something besides blue. It has suede like material on it that is very nice, the whole seat is very soft padded the infant head rest even has padding down to the sides to keep baby from wobbling more safer. The slide off cover/blanket is great b/c it helps keep air from getting to baby's legs helps keep her warmer. We also have the matching double single stroller to use with it. Eddie Bauer defineltly has the nicest products. We have other EB carseats w/our other 2 boys they have been the best.

I am a new mom and wanted to do everything right for my new little bundle, spairing no cost. So, I registered for the travel system that includes the stroller thinking that Eddie Bauer had to be the best - especially since it was the most expensive! WRONG! The colors are great and the padding is a plus, but that is the only good thing that I can say about this product! These are my complains in order:
br /
br /1. The straps repeatedly come loose from the back anchors! I mean this is a child safety seat and the straps won't hold him in when conditions are good! How the heck is it going too perform under tramatic conditions? Each time I strap him in I have to secure the straps in the back.
br /
br /2. The canopy is completely useless! In fact, I do not hesitate to say that it in itself is a safety hazard. The canopy will not stay up unless you hold it with the handle. It falls down and drags the ground to the point that you are actually tripping on it if your not careful.
br /
br /3. Poor quality fabric - the cover is begining to rip where it covers the front of the carrier.
br /
br /4. There is a certain way you have to secure the straps in the front, but once you know how they go it isn't too much of a problem.
br /
br /Folks, I have a degree in Safety (no joke). If you are looking for a fashion statement than this is your carrier. If you are interested in protecting your child than I would look for other options.

I bought this car seat with the stroller as a combo. I mistakenly made the assumption that since it was more expensive and carried the Eddie Bauer name, it would be top of the line. When we came home from the hospital, it literally took us 45 mins to fix the carseat adjuster on the bottom of the base so that he wasn't sitting straight up. I don't like how the lower straps snap, I think it pinches my baby's legs. The harness straps are also constantly coming out and I don't see how this would be safe if I got into a car wreck! We don't have much money because my husband is a stay at home dad and full-time student but we wanted to make sure our baby was the safest he could possibly be. I'm so disappointed with our purchase and am now out of quite a bit of money. I thought I had investigated all of the options and thought I was getting the best and safest! I was wrong!

The handle is hard to move, the grips are entirely too tight. It also makes a very loud click when it gets into place, I have a Graco as well and it is much smoother and easier to use.

We used this car seat for about a year. The color hides dirt and stains and overall was a good seat. However, the straps twist all the time and as if you don't have enough to do taking care of an infant you will also need to untangle them on an almost daily basis. We were never in an accident with this car seat and I believe that is the true test for a car seat.Consumer reports may be able to help with that info. This seat is heavy and my son was also heavy it was very hard for me to lug around. We purchased the Britax roundabout now that he has out grown the edie bauer and we LOVE IT! He is our second child and we have purchased five car seats the Britax is the best it is worth the outragous price.

Even the Babysitter hates it.

I'm the babysitter, just to let you know.
br /I hate this carseat, but I'm giving it 4 stars, because I like the colors, and the handle.
br /The little boy I babysit for hates it he will not sit in it for more then 30 or 40 mins. Even in the car. I also hate the canopy it is so filmsy that it will fall and get stuck in the base, and will fall all the way under the carseat and drag the ground. Also when the canopy is up the handle is too close the the fabic.

I hate this carseat. We registered for it (big mistake) received it as a gift before our daughter was born. My husband I installed it -- it took about 30 minutes -- when I was 6 1/2 mos. pregnant. We really liked it until we had to take our daughter home from the hospital. It took 4 people about 15 minutes to figure out how to properly adjust it -- and we did read the directions. The straps are way too short extremely difficult to adjust. Our poor daughter cried every time we buckled her in. The straps just don't provide enough slack to comfortably put her arms through, and the puzzle buckle is a pain. Our daughter is less than 9 lbs. at 4 wks old we finally gave up got the convertible Britax Roundabout. The Roundabout is much safer, and although it's $199, it's worth every penny lasts alot longer. Thank God we aren't causing our poor little girl pain anymore.

Do not buy this car seat! I bought it simply for the name and not the quality, BIG MISTAKE! It is nearly impossible to adjust the handle and the safety belt is very difficult to latch. My son was 9.5 pounds at birth and now weighs 21 pounds at 4 months and I am already looking for a new seat. I wish I would have read reviews before hand. Trust me I will from now on...

I have not used this product yet but am very interested in it. This will be my first carseat for my first baby. I have read a lot about the convenience of a carseat fitting into a stroller and wondered if this seat did the same for any EB strollers?
br /
br /If anyone has any suggestions on this or any other type of carseat for a newborn, I could use them. Also, I looked at some of the infant/toddler (in one)carseats. None of which sounded safe in my opinion. Is it better to just purchase a new one when they grow out of the infant carseat?

The latest, more vigorous crash tests have shown that nearly all infant car seats provide poor protection. Some seats snapped out of the bases and some of the LATCH belts broke. If you already purchased an infant car seat, it is safer to use it with the seat belt rather than LATCH (according to the crash test results). One of only two seats to perform satisfacorily was the original Graco Snugride. If you want the convenience of an infant car seat, this one is cheaper and very safe. If you are considering Graco Safe Seat because of the higher weight limit, please look at a convertible seat instead (Britax Roundabout is the best, although a little pricey).
