I purchased two of these car seats a year ago, for my kids now ages 35 months and 6 years old. On August 30 this year I was stopped behind a school bus that was picking up high school kids. I was in a 40 mile an hour zone and was hit from behind by a flat bed semi going somewhere between 60 and 70 miles an hour, he never even tried to brake. My 2 year old had minor scratches and bruises while my son(6) had to be life flighted 200 miles away for a severly broken leg and concusion. The childrens hospital where he was sent told me that had he not been in a car seat with higher weight limits(80-100 lbs.)he would have been killed. I am so thankful that I bought this car seat and after this experience I highly recommend it.

Very nice seat!

I purchased this seat for my 1 year old son because it is very roomy seemed like it would actually live up to its weight height capacity. The seat cover is a plush, high quality fabric with the exception of the outer edges which seem to be some sort of fleece type material. I have a feeling that this will show wear tear much faster than the rest of the fabric covering. I especially liked that the fabric straps were dark in color so that they won't show dirt stains. The straps were very easy to adjust you don't have to re-thread the entire harness to adjust. The seat was easy to install using the lap/shoulder belt (we do not have the LATCH system in our car) fit extemely snug against the seat in our Toyota Sienna van with virtually no movement at all once it was installed. There are 2 discrepancies in the product description - 1)It says that it has the "puzzle" snap at the crotch ours does not, and 2)Ours came with a detachable lumbar support cushion. Overall, a very high quality seat for the money! My 3 year old son is currently using an Eddie Bauer high back booster we're seriously considering replacing it with the Vantage because of the difference in quality features.

maybe not this one...

For the most part this seat is an ok seat. My son says it is comfortable and he likes having the toy net handy and a place to keep his drink. When your child is small enough for the harness it will keep him/her secure. The harness adjusts easily in front.
br /
br /However the bad points of this seat. First off it is difficult to install. It takes 2 people to get it tight enough if your vehicle does not have the LATCH system. With the kickstand down it sits straight up. There is no recline. so a napping child will end up doing that awful carseat head bob. With the kickstand up the seat reclines waaay too far for the older preschoolers. It sits them back like they sat in an infant seat. And it also makes the seat gouge into your vehicle seat on both the bottom and the back of the seat. There is no way to recline the seat if your child falls asleep without taking the whole thing out and reinstalling with the kickstand up. By then baby is awake so who cares anyway. The tether strap is a pain to tighten. But once it is in it is IN! I strongly recommend you get a heavy duty rubber mat to put under this seat. It is not a solid bottom but like a plastic frame of sorts underneath so it digs into the vehicle upholstery. I have taken ours out and I have a perfect square where the seat was gouging my truck upholstery. Nobody wants a ripped seat in their vehicle.
br /As a belt positioning booster it is not so great. The wings on the side come out a little too far. The seatbelt comes through the guide around the seat and does not touch the childs shoulder until almsot midchest. I think in a wreck that would be an awful lot of leeway for a little kid to be able to move before the seatbelt stopped them.
br /
br /If you're stuck for a seat this one is certainly better then nothing.
br /I suggest you put this one back and check aorund for somethng else. There are nicer seats for the same dollar amount. Buy this as a last resort.

I ordered this booster for my three year old because it was rated well by Consumer Reports. Having owned several other car seats, however, I was disappointed with this one. The top harness retainer that is positioned over the child's chest is too easy to unsnap and my daughter is constantly unbuckling herself while we're driving in the car. Also, the top anchorage strap is not easily adjustable like on other car seats I have purchased. I didn't have the time to figure it out. (I also have a six month old.) Luckily, my husband could figure it out. Finally, at the time we purchased the seat, we owned a Honda Civic which was too small anyway with two car seats in the back, but the cup holder wouldn't fit in our car (we couldn't close the car door), so we had to remove it from the booster seat until we got our minivan.

Pretty pleased so far.

When I was checking out seats on-lins and in stores, I found that they were either comfortable and expensive or were cheap with little padding. I was pleased to find this one for a good price and with good cushioning. I was also happy to see it for about half the price on Amazon as it was in the store.
br /
br /The only bad thing I can say so far is that I ordered 2 of them, and only one of them came with an instruction manual.
br /
br /And just something to note; I had them shipped through Amazon from Babyage.com and it was $[...] each, so about $[...] to ship them. But Babyage does flat-rate shipping at $[...]. I went through Amazon expecting the shipping to be faster, and I wanted them in time for a long drive over Thanksgiving. But it ends up that it took just as long as it would have had I gone through Babyage. Long story short, go through babyage and save yourself some money.

My 3 year old son loves his new car seat. It is a great fit. Easy to install. It appears to be comfortable. I like that it has such a great weight/height range and becomes just a booster seat. My only concern is they put an expiration date on it. Not sure why but I was hoping to use it for my baby when she got older. Guess I will have to buy a new booster later.

We have no complaints about this seat. It's comfortable for our daughter and expect it to last a long time. We didn't find it to be difficult to install, other than the fact that it didn't fit well over the center hump and had to be installed on the side. Not the fault of the seat. We would definitely get this again.

Purchased this car seat for the sedan so we wouldn't always have to use the van for our twins. Didn't have any problems installing (as other reviews have mentioned). Love the tension control in the front. The non-moving arm rests have not been a problem (and don't fall off like some of the movable ones do). The cupholder can only be located on one side (might be a problem with a small car but we have a full-size sedan) and both seats fit just fine and the cup holder is still usable on each. Don't know how much we will dislike the inability to conveniently recline the seat - we don't plan on using this vehicle for car trips and such - but it would NOT be a quick thing to do.
br /All in all, we really like this seat for what we use it for and the twins seem to like it better than the seats in the van. They like to try and "help" get everything latched and sit with their arms on the armrests like some king and queen admiring their domain.

I did alot of research on what carseat was the safest based on crash test ratings, and the consumer reports. This carseat was rated the best (of course britax comes out on top but I cant' afford those) for what we could afford. Its easy to install and to use. The only thing I wish was different it I wish the pillow was adjustable because my son is short he usually sleeps to one side of the other.

No frills, but seems solid

This seems like a good seat for the price. No frills, meaning no cushions on the straps, which I'd like to get when I find the time to make it more comfortable for the little one. My car is not huge, so the mid-size build is nice, and we'll probably take it over the larger one we have in the other car when we go on the plane for holiday.
br /
br /I was not too happy with the shipping...it was just the seat dumped in a box, no plastic wrap. I live in hawaii where moisture can ruin something quick, so some sort of wrapping to protect the material would have been nice.

EXTREMELY Difficult to get to fit righ t in vehicle.

I purchased two of these... one for each or our cars an 07 CRV and an 07 Xterra. I have found it to be extremely difficult to install these correctly in both of my vehicles. I tried to use the seatbelt clip and the latch system and neither of them are any easier than the other. I spent at least 20 minutes in each vehicle installing these seats.
br /
br /I am returning both of these seats and getting a differnt model.
