I STRONGLY DISAGREE with the opinion from Feb '07. I have THIS EXACT carseat and it is very portable, handy, and lightweight for an infant seat that holds a 30" baby upto 22lbs. The SIP (side impact protection) wings are thick sturdy pads that allow the infant's head to rest securely so that in the event of a car accident, the SIP wings absorb the shock & ricochet effect that can shake a baby fastened to a carseat.
I like how this carseat does not require a base. A base will still work, and I prefer to use the base as I prefer to use the LATCH system in my vehicle, but without the base, you would simply feed the seatbelt through two slots on the left & right sides of the infant seat, then buckle the seatbelt.
In addition, the toffee pattern is beautiful and elegant looking, perfect for a boy or girl, and made of quality italian upholstery. The canopy is larger than the primo viaggio's of 2002, so there is more shade for the baby.
Another thing, the 800# for customer service is 800-671-1701. They are located in Ft. Wayne, IN and have another center in New Jersey... I dont know who the other reviewer called, but they certainly don't transfer you to INDIA!?!

Thanks for your feedback
I have found the Peg Pergo infant carseat to be ideal for my visiting grandson. The portability from car to stroller has made the seat my first choice in that I can go from car to shopping cart or stroller with ease. I like how well the 5 point harness fits and protects around my grandson giving him comfort, and me, assurance that he is safe and secure. I like that it was easy to secure in car without a book of complicated directions.
