This review rates the Britax Roundabout in the Aloha pattern. My wife and I did a lot of research before choosing this car seat and it really paid off. If you are like us and have your child in and out of the car constantly, paying a little extra for a really nice one is well worth it.
br /
br /Let me start by saying that our other car seat is another popular brand car seat that cost about half the cost of the Roundabout. We use both seats daily in our travels to day care, etc. So my comparisons will be against the other seat (a Graco Comfort Sport). Both were bought in 2006.
br /
br /The Britax is much easier to get our child in and out of. It is slightly wider and more 'open' than the other seat.
br /
br /The Britax seems better built, padded better and the cover is softer and appears to be more durable. Spills have wiped off easily without staining. Girls will love the Aloha pattern!
br /
br /The Britax has a few small touches that really have proven to be worth while in daily use. The most obvious is the button used to loosen the straps. On the other seat you pull a belt to loosen the straps. When the seat is mounted rear-facing, this belt is hard to reach and hard to use. A child could reach it and pull it, loosening the shoulder straps. The Britax button would not be easy for a child to reach or push to loosen the straps, but is very simple to use when removing your child from the seat.
br /
br /The other small touch I really like is the velcro on the straps and the sides of the seat - when you remove the straps you just lay them on the sides of the seat and the velcro grabs them and holds them there. When you get back to the car and put your child in the seat the straps are already 'open' and ready so you don't have to pull them from under your child like we do on the other seat we use. Works great.
br /
br /The last small touch that is really nice is the belly shield - a padded circle that keeps the harness clip from digging into your child. It's a great idea and it is very well executed. It will really prove its worth in the summer when our child is in shorts or a dress and we won't have to worry about a hot metal clip touching her skin.
br /
br /We don't use LATCH so I cannot comment on that, but the seat was really easy to install with the standard car seatbelt. We used the Versa-Tether and the seat is rock solid in our Subaru Forester.
br /
br /Overall we are really happy with the purchase of the Roundabout, and the Aloha pattern really stands out when compared to other car seats. I'm sure we will get our money's worth of use from this seat. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the price of admission is rather high. If the seat was more affordable it would be perfect.

I bought this car seat over the Marathon due to the consumer crash safety results (number two on convertible list) and because of a friends recommendation. Online I was not impressed with the cover, but in person this is prettier. The cover is so soft and the features, like the Velcro belt holder and belly sheild is a plus. This car fit in my Civic in the middle seating position, rear facing with no problem and plenty of room to adjust front seats. This seat will definitely grow with my daughter giving me many years of use. It reclines perfectly for the rear facing infant allowing them to still be able to sleep peacefully, yet sitting up enough to support their necks. The seat is easy to install on your own and worth every penny. If you have a girl and want a different seat besides the typical blue or gray cover this is definitely the seat for you. It is worth spending the extra money, if you have it, for the luxury of this great seat. When you are ready to move up from the infant carrier then this seat is the seat to buy.
Purchased and returned 2 other seats before getting this one...

Being a first time Mom...I wanted to make sure that I had the safest carseat for my little girl (now 8 months old)...but my dear husband also didn't want to spend a ton of money on a seat that she will eventually outgrow.
br /
br /I researched everywhere for carseats and found 2 other cheaper seats with high safety ratings...the Alpha Omega Elite and Evenflo Triumph 5 (If I remember correctly on the exact name). The Omega Elite may have been a good seat...but it wouldn't fit in our 04 Camary...and the Triumph 5 just wasn't a good fit for my daughter...the harness was so hard to unlatch I couldn't do it with one hand and even using both it was really difficult and the recline feature was almost impossible to use...I had to almost sit in the seat to get it reclined...I couldn't see myself struggling that hard to get a wiggle worm in an out of a car seat everyday.
br /
br /So...my first selection was the Britax Marathon (the pretty flower one)...my husband wasn't in agreement since it was a little costly...so after much frustration with the other seats..I decided to go for the Roundabout...a little cheaper to ease my husbands concern and still a safe and attractive seat for our little one.
br /
br /We've been using this seat for about a month now and everyone loves it! It fits great in the car (although we did have to lift it a bit to get the right angle with a piece of one of those swimming pool foam thingys). The velcro strap holders may not seem like a big deal...but they're awesome! The material is very soft and seems very comfortable and the print it really pretty. Instructions are clear and installation is pretty easy...especially with the latch system.
br /
br /Overall a great seat...I'll surely purchase another one for the next little wiggle worm.

I bought the Marathon after having used two Roundabouts for my older sons. I had been very pleased with the Roundabout and used them until my sons were almost 4. They loved them, easy to use, and they always fell asleep in them. Worth every penny.
br /
br /The Marathon is a total joke and has a huge design flaw to it - the buckle is too close to the crotch/back of the seat, so there's no way that it could accomodate a 65 or even 25 lb child. I'm so disappointed in Britax for making the Marathon and hawking it as better than the Roundabout. It's not even as plush or padded as the Roundabout. And it was way too big for my minivan!
br /
br /Stick with a good investment and a solid, long-term winner, the Roundabout. I know I'll have it for many more years and get good resale on it like I did the other ones. And the sales cleark at BRU said that they see too many returns on the Marathon because it doesn't fit babies' crotches and it doesn't fit most cars/vans.
br /
br /I bought this Aloha pattern and was surprised at how much cuter and brighter it is in person. The photo on Amazon makes it look dul, but it's not - it's very cute and girly - hides the food!

I purchased this car seat for my one year old daughter. I had some second thoughts at first because of its cost but I finally decided to go for it. And I didn't have any regrets at all. When my husband installed it, this car seat wouldn't move an inch!! And I love the fabric too, soft and very comfortable. Plus the print is so attractive, especially for my precious little girl. Now my daughter enjoys every ride:)

This car seat is wonderful! I LOVE the Aloha print. We installed this car seat when my daughter was 10 months old, prior to that we had the Graco Snugride infant seat. I didn't think it could get better than that, but this is! She adjusted to this new seat so easily, it was so comfortable for her. It's so easy to get her in and out of and she loves it. It's not light, but it's also not as heavy as some of the carseats out there which is important to me because I plan to travel on a plane with it. The straps are so easy to adjust and snap and unsnap. We are in the car alot. She sleeps comfortably in it too. I asked my Pediatrician for advice on a car seat and even though they don't "officially" recommend brands or models, he has this one for his own baby so I was confident it was a good choice. We've had it for four months now and I'm so happy with it.

I bought this car seat for my newborn. At two months old I placed her in it and she LOVED it!! It is very soft and the picture of the Aloha Print is better than the picture. Easy to clean and fits perfectly in our minivan. Great product.

I bought a Roundabout seat because my daughter ask for it! However, I purchased it online at Babiesrus so she could return it to the store if she did not want this particular one. Do you know Babiesrus stores will not give you a refund if the item was purchased online? Only store credit! This is unfair to the consumer who uses the convenience of online or is only able to shop at the store itself occasionally. Please read through the maze of "pages" before you purchase if you think you might want your money back... it is the right carseat but buy locally if you can! The Aloha pattern is really cute and the Marathon seat is also terrific, the baby is sitting up high and can look around. We finally purchased a Marathon and a Roundabout. The Roundabout fits better in a small car (Outback station wagon) and the Marathon is in the Taurus because it's a little bigger. The fire department had a Child Safety Seat installment day and they were glad to see this seats, they recommended Britax as the best! One doctor commented how about parents who spend all kinds of money on the car, the clothes, and then put the babies in a second rate car seat, true, it doesn't make sense...priorities, people!

- user friendly in every way. (installation/how it buckles/ removable seat cover)
br /- safe
br /- only limitation is weight. If you have a chunky baby and a big car you may want to consider a Marathon. I have 3 roundabouts for my three kids and love them. Mine have lasted as my 4yr is not that tall or heavy.

The seat is very pretty in person and is very comfortable for my seven month old daughter. We had to move into a convertible carseat because she is now to long for our infant carrier seat. It fits perfectly into our Ford Escape. The cover is very soft and plush.
br /The seat also has a very high saftey rating. I hope that we will be able to use this seat until she is ready for a booster seat.

I have owned a Cosco and Graco car seat. I finally broke down and purchased this one from all of the glowing reviews. Even after reading the top safety and parent reviews - I didn't know if it was worth the money. I just received it today and I now know why it is top rated!
br /
br /First - the latch system is the easiest I've ever seen. It's wonderful! It's also the tightest I've ever made a car seat. Mine always wiggled back and forth and that's with all my weight in the seat and pulling with all my might. This is the first time it never moved. YEAH! It's so easy, it won't be an issue switching this inbetween vehicles if needed. I don't dread it anymore.
br /
br /Second - it is easy to take off the seat cover and clean it. You can even replace it if you need to. It's also SO SOFT.
br /
br /Third - I love the little velcro strips on the side that keep the straps so they aren't under your little one.
br /
br /My child's review - well, I'd have to go wake her up..she's asleep in it.
br /
br /CON- No cupholder.
br /
br /Roundabout vs. Marathon - I debated between the two and decided that my child wouldn't want to be in the Marathon when she hits 65lbs. I'm pretty sure this seat will last until she is almost 6 and then it will be time for a booster seat. If you have tall children, you may want to consider the Marathan.
br /
br /You'll probably want to search the net for the best price. You might be surprised at what you can find.

Loved it. This is the second one I buy. I purchased the first one a year ago for my first daughter. It is very easy to set up in the car. It's comfortable for her to take naps and it looks great. I just recently bought another one for my six month old becuase my older daughter who is 2 yrs old still needs her and I wanted them to have matching car seats. It is also very easy to take apart to wash. Great product!!

We only buy Britax carseats as it is (specifically the Roundabout) as we truly feel they are best. I purchased this partically seat b/c of the print. I now have a daughter (after having a son), and wanted a really girly carseat for her, well this it!!! The colors are fun, vibrant and everybody comments on it! I was a bit leary about the green, but it looks so much better in person than on the computer.

We actually purchased this item in 2006 when our daughter outgrew her baby carrier. It is very sturdy, stable, safe and of course has a beautiful print. Our daughter loves it, so we know it's worth every penny. We plan on passing it on to our 10 month old as soon as she outgrows the baby carrier; which will be very soon. Our 2 year old will be moved up to the Britax Regent Madison as soon as it arrives. I am a firm believer in "You get what you pay for" and the price may be a little steep ($269), but you are getting a great seat!
