It's one thing to buy a high-style car seat for an infant under twenty inches, and another to make sure your baby is getting the proper amount of protection, inside and out, from a car seat that's no longer big enough for the little lad (or lady). Once the baby is bigger than twenty pounds, and with modern feeding parctices that comes faster than ever nowadays, for as my Grandma says as our cars get bigger, and everyone is driving an SUV, our babies grow correspondingly bigger as well. With the Midnight Desrt Young Style Car Seat, you can ditch the puny little car seats that you had before when baby was one year young, here comes the heavy duty model.

br /I hesitated at first, not sure if the flaps (or "wings") would be sturdy enough for the little chap to see over, say if he developed his neck muscles, as some toddlers have a tendency to be impatient with the wings and want to see all the action happening out of the side windows (an encouraging sign by the way for moms and dads worried about possible later signs of dullness). Such activity is a sign for rejoicing, but it doesn't make your toddler easier to strap in for road trips, does it. But with Midnight Desert you don't have to worry. That protection shell you get with MD is just about the largest on the market and unless your baby is baby Superboy he's not going to get out of the hard resistant plastic and foam shell. Nor will his toys be able to dent it or rip it open as may happen with some other, flimsier car seats.

br /In defense of the other, more expensive and unnecessary toddler car seats, some of them are indeed prettier. One or two are true works of art. But I always say, baby doesn't need to be framed like the Mona Lisa! Baby just needs to be safe during your drive through the woods to grandmother's house. Now's the time to protect your toddler, he will learn about art and beauty later in life, or my name isn't Kevin Killian. Plus, if you're the tidy sort you'll enjoy the washability of the cover that slips on and off easily for you to get it clean, 'cause it's made of microfiber just as though it had been tailored by Coco Chanel.
