I liked this car seat and would have given it 4 stars but I was rear ended and upon impact the adjustable harness at the top didn't stay locked it slid from the lowest level to the highest and cut my toddler's neck. I notice in the newer models that the place where you thread the harness is no longer adjustable but 2 stationary levels.
Excellent, Versatile Seat!

After reviewing the high-end range of booster seats, we decided on this awesome one. The LATCH system helps to insure a stable, safe installation -- this seat is NOT going anywhere once installed! The harness system is easily adjustable, with just a push of a button in the front, pull on the straps to desired slack, then push a bar at the back and slide it up for length. It was the easiest chair I've ever adjusted to our daughter's size. The recline option is an added benefit so no more floppy, sleepy head. We were pleased that the seat we ordered did not have the "puzzle" type of buckle closure as that would have been a major drawback when the little ones try to buckle themself in - ours was a regular buckle that our 5 year old can handle herself. This booster is wider than others, and our daughter is petite, but she loves the extra room for her stuffed animals to cuddle next to her, and for toys to play with, etc. The armrests go up and down easily enough for her to change too. Excellent seat!
The perfect fit

I was sorry to read the other reviews. This is a fantastic car seat that is extremely wide with lots of room. I bought this for my 4 year old daugther. She loves it. I feel that it is easy to take apart and clean. The best part is that you never have to rethread the harness. It is simple to move up and down. The cup holder is easy to slide back and forth. I researched many seats, this buy far it the safest. I have peace of mind with my child in this seat.

This seat was just terrible! The straps twist very badly, and you hae to take the whole carseat out and dismantle the straps to fix it. Not worth the time or money. Get the Graco ComfortSport.
I hate this carseat.

This carseat is the worst carseat I've ever had to deal with. The straps are extremely hard to adjust and totally confusing. The thing is so huge and heavy that you can't hardly move it from one car to the other. My daughter got sick and threw up all over it so we tried to get all the washable cloth cushions off and it took forever, & that was once we finally figured it out. Then when we wen't to put it all back together & we couldn't figure out where most of the straps went. Needless to say it's still sitting apart & we got a new Graco carseat in which we love. Don't buy this carseat it's way over priced & difficult & bulky.

I have a 6 month old who is more than ready to move to a big car seat. We bought this with gift cards from our baby showers so that we wouldn't have to spend the big bucks later. Well, yesterday I was reading the instructions and I discover it is NOT REAR FACING. It is only forward facing and a booster seat. NO WHERE on the box does it say it is only forward facing. What a waste of $119. Thank goodness I have a friend that has a 16 month old and is having another baby in November. She is going to buy this one from me for her oldest.

The product description says (When your little one outgrows his or her infant car seat, this flexible Eddie Bauer Summit Deluxe High Back Booster is the only seat you'll ever need. Includes 5-pt. internal harness for babies 22 to 40 lbs. (LATCH equipped) and a belt-positioning feature for kids 30 to 100 lbs.) WELL, WHEN A BABY OUTGROWS AN INFANT CARSEAT, THEY ARE NOT USUALLY 22 POUNDS YET. MY SON IS 15 POUNDS BUT IS 25 1/2 INCIES LONG AND IS OUTGROWING HIS ONFANT CARRIER SEAT. CAN THIS BE USED REARFACING FOR AN INFANT????

This car seat was not worth the money...the seat belt is horrible to adjust and it is very hard if you need to transfer it between two cars. It is just awkward.

would not recommend this seat, my husband and I tried out several car seat for our 5 mth old
thinking that this car seat was good only to find out that when I tried to install this rearfacing in my 98 accord it did not fit and the buckle was hard connect together, The fabric had a funny smell that when my son sat for while in the seat you could smell on his clothes. The straps also left marks on his legs that I did not like.

I thought it looked like it was a good car seat. After only a couple months the latch snapped in two. I can't imagine what would happen in an accident. it is also not comfortable for little one's legs as the edge of the seat is pointed where it should be round. I will replace this broken one with a completely different model. Very disappointed I through away that much money.

Seat is very secure when strapped in with the LATCH system and the 5 point harness works great once you can get used to the 2 piece buckle. However, the tilt and pull lever does not function unless you unstrap the LATCH system and move the seat, because the seat itself can't tilt....the base does not slide, so unless you unstrap the whole thing the back of the seat won't tilt.
DO NOT USE FOR CHILD UNDER 1 YEAR OLD!!!!

YOU CANNOT USE THIS SEAT FOR A CHILD UNDER 1 YEAR OLD! IT IS NOT A REAR FACING SEAT, AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE USED SAFELY FOR AN INFANT UNDER ONE.
THE DESCRIPTION ON THIS WEBSITE IS VERY DECEPTIVE. YOU CANNOT USE THIS SEAT UNTIL YOUR CHILD IS AT LEAST ONE.
MINE IS ALMOST 3, AND WE ARE STILL KEEPING HER IN A CONVERTIBLE CARSEAT RATHER THAN THIS BOOSTER, WHICH WE WILL GET IN A FEW MORE MONTHS, BUT UNTIL THEN, SHE IS SAFEST IN A CONVERTIBLE CAR SEAT, ALTHOUGH SHE CAN SIT FORWARD FACING NOW.
AGAIN, IF YOUR CHILD IS UNDER AGE ONE, DO NOT USE THIS SEAT! KEEP IN MIND AS WELL THAT THE SIDES HAVE VERY, VERY, VERY LITTLE CRASH PROTECTION (OKAY, ACTUALLY, THEY HAVE PRETTY MUCH NO CRASH PROTECTION) IN THE EVENT OF A SIDE IMPACT ACCIDENT.
HOPE THAT HELPS SOMEONE OUT THERE!

My dd was a big girl and we went from a infant seat to a convertable seat at 4 months but by the time she turned a year she was getting too tall for her convertable seat so we bought this one at a year and now at 2.5 she still loves her seat. and for the lady that bought it thinking it would work rear faceing READ THE BOX!!!! it says nothing about rear faceing on the box.just because it says convertable it dosnt mean that is is useable for rear faceing , pay attention people. this seat has litterally traveled across country and back.(alabama to washington state to maryland to Georga driving the whole way!) has seen more miles than most people.

Thanks to Marydawn from Augusta,SC for recommending the consumer reports website(www.consumerreports.org). I own a britax roundabout, excellent seat!!!!!! I purchased the summit seat after reading your review because the roundabout has a weight maximum of 40 lbs and my child has outgrown it. The summit is a great seat that is easy to use forward facing. However, the Britax convertible car seats, the roundabout and the marathon (wt. up to 65 lbs), are rated higher than both the Evenflow Titan 5 or Triumph 5. I'd highly recommend the Britax car seats, if you can spare the additional cost because they are expensive, but if not consumer reports advertises the evenflo Titan 5 as a seat that performed well in their tests. See their recommendations on the overview page concerning car seats.

THIS CAR SEAT IS GREAT!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS A LITTLE EXPENSIVE, BUT IT IS WORTH IT!! WE HAVE 2 CAR SEATS FOR EACH OF OUR CARS, AND MY SON LIKES THIS ONE THE BEST, IT IS MORE COMFORTABLE, STURDY, AND THE STRAPS NEVER GET TWISTED UP LIKE THE OTHER ONE. I ALSO HAVE A SMALL CAR- 2 DOOR FOCUS AND IT FITS IN JUST FINE. I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS CAR SEAT, WE ARE GOING TO BUY ANOTHER ONE TO REPLACE THE COSCO ONE!
Well Worth The Money!

It is most likely common for families with babies that money can be tight. I know my growing family would like to dine out more often or indulge in some of the nicer things. I can't for the life of me think that I would look at a car seat because of price or convience. I don't want their to be the possability of regret in my family in concern of a car seat. Now that can make it seem like anyone with an expensive baby saftey product is the best but we all know that it is not always true. If you read consumer reports and they crash test the seats to see which one holds its integrity the best, that is a more logical step in the process of finding out which seat you should buy. Do the research yourself, you owe it to your family.

Thank you Bakersfield, CA for stating that this booster is not for aft facing. You are correct that it is not mentioned anywhere in the description. (I wanted this seat because my son is just over 9 weeks old and he is almost 20 lbs!)
However, the important fact for purchasers of this seat to realize is that it is the only booster seat recommended without reservation by consumer reports.
So, after I purchase the Evenflo Triumph 5 (rated better than the Britax for convertible seats), I will be purchasing this seat (the Cosco Summit High Back Booster) simply because it is rated the highest of all booster seats and lasts up to 100 lbs.
Check out www.consumerreports.org. God Bless Everyone!!!

I bought this seat for my seven year old who is 50lbs and only 49 inches long. He does not meet the safety requirements for our state to be in a seat belt. He loves this seat, it is high up so he can see out the windows of my suv, has folding arm rests so he can buckle himself in, great back head support and the tether system is so easy to use! I would recomend it to any parent of an older child.
DO NOT BUY THIS!

Don't buy this with the idea for rear facing use unless your car is LATCH equipped because it won't work! This was bought for a gift for us and it does not work in our car and we can not return it to Target because we "don't have the box". We can not afford a new car seat and are stuck with our 6 month old son unsafely riding in this until we can afford one or he turns a year. If you buy something from Target make sure you hang on to the box because with the receipt or not, they won't take it without the box.

I wish I had read these reviews before I registered for this car seat. I registered for this car seat becuase on the box it says that it is for 22-100 lbs. I thought I could use it forever! My 7 month old is now ready to go into a bigger car seat, but cannot use it until he's one year old. Nowhere on the box does it say 22-100 lbs AND 1 year and over. If it had said that, I never would have registered for it. Target will not return, exchange or give me credit for it becuase it is over 3 months old (even though they still carry it and it is still in the original box). I wish I registered at another retailer that would take everything back (And thats what I'm telling all my pregnant, and engaged friends)!
