We have used the Roundabout since the day we came home from the hospital with our son, Ryan. He is now 21 months old and is still very comfortable in it. It shows no signs of being worn out in any way. The straps are as tight as ever. Plus, they adjust to a height which is comfortable for him (he's almost 35"!) He even has room to grow - width-wise and heighth-wise.
But the most important thing is, we were hit from behind, while waiting to merge into traffic. My husband and I were both wearing seat belts but were injured. Ryan, who was secure in his car seat, had absolutely no injuries. The seat did its job exceptionally. The police and fire fighters on the scene checked for any damage to the seat but it was as if we just installed it, they said. We had the chest plate as it should be and the straps as tight as recommended. He didn't even get a bruise!
So I feel the best review we could give is, it has proved to us, it is a safe seat for our toddler. Which, really is why have car seats!
Our insurance company's policy is to replace a car seat in an accident like ours (back-end damage and our floor cracked). We bought the Roundabout again... just in a different pattern. The new baby is due in October and you can be certain we will be getting another Roundabout in the coming weeks. We trust both of our children in this seat. I hope this has been helpful and I pray no one has to test the product's reliability in an accident again.

My 8-month old daughter and I were rear-ended and the car was totaled. She was in a rear-facing Roundabout and although the entire trunk of the car was gone, she was unhurt except for two bruises on her legs where the carseat straps caught her. I immediately bought another Roundabout to replace that one. I would recommend Britax to anyone.

My wife and I purchased 2 of these seats after doing alot of research on the web (check out www.aap.org and www.nhtsa.dot.gov for car seat tests and reviews). This car seat is of very high quality. The frame is very stiff and solid. I found the instructions in the manual to be a bit confusing, but after looking at them for a little while I realized how easy it was to install. We have an Accord with the latches and a Land Rover Discovery that we used the shoulder belt. Both were very easy to install. I had to add a rolled towel under the front of the car seat on the Accord so it stayed in a 45 degree angle (this is what Britax recommends). The Discovery has very tight rear seats and I was worried that it would be a problem with the Britax, but it actually left more room for the front passenger seat than her Graco infant seat did. I bought the seats from www.elitecarseats.com after reading some of the reviews about them here and they had a great deal on the Roundabout ($179.99 + no shipping charge or tax ). I got the seats in 3 days !
The "Funky Denim" is a really nice color (not too bright or dark) and feels like a comfortable pair of broken in jeans. My daughter loves the seat and I guess that's the most important thing of all.

I purchased my first Roundabout carseat for my now 16 month old about 10 months ago (my three year old daughter outgrew hers), and with baby #2 (now 4 months) we will give him my daughters old Roundabout.
PROs
- It was very easy having two installed into my MiniVan with stow and go with the LATCH
- Safest on the market
- Comfortable fabrics, multiple choices, very plush and easy to wash
- Easy to adjust the height of the shoulder straps, dont remove the seat
- Adjusting the tension can be done with the knob on the side
- There is a belly pad to protect your child from a cold, or hot buckle
- Reclines well
- Not really too expensive
CONs
- They can only hold about 45 lbs, but the boys would be in a convertible way after the Marathons 65 lbs
- I really wish that I could have left my toddler rear-facing longer, because I turned him around at 12 months (safest possitions is rear-facing)
All in all I love the Roundabout, and am defiantly planning to use them over again!

We bought the "Roundabout Convertible LATCH Car Seat in Denim" for my 8 ½ month old son who out grew of his infant car.
I chose the roundabout because it was rated #1 in consumer reports for convertible car seats in 2004. I chose the denim fabric because it is 100% cotton and I wanted my son to be comfortable in the hot & humid Texas weather (he used to sweat a lot in his infant car seat). I also like the fact that this car seat is not huge and bulky. It is approved for aircrafts (but we have not used it on one yet).
We us it in 1999 Honda Accord with no Latch. The instruction booklet tells you how to install the car seat without a Latch. It was easy to install. My son is very comfortable and secure in his new car seat (we use it rear facing).

I bought the Marathon after having used two Roundabouts for my older sons. I had been very pleased with the Roundabout and used them until my sons were almost 4. They loved them, easy to use, and they always fell asleep in them. Worth every penny.
The Marathon is a total joke and has a huge design flaw to it - the buckle is too close to the crotch/back of the seat, so there's no way that it could accomodate a 65 or even 25 lb child. I'm so disappointed in Britax for making the Marathon and hawking it as better than the Roundabout. It's not even as plush or padded as the Roundabout. And it was way too big for my minivan!
Stick with a good investment and a solid, long-term winner, the Roundabout. I know I'll have it for many more years and get good resale on it like I did the other ones. And the sales cleark at BRU said that they see too many returns on the Marathon because it doesn't fit babies' crotches and it doesn't fit most cars/vans.

I bought this car seat after checking out amazons reviews and consumer reports. The only concern I had was no one on Amazon mentioned whether this carseat was used with a newborn direct from the hospital. Well i took a chance, since I didn't want the added cost of buying the infant carrier seat. Our son was 7lbs when he was born and he came home in this carseat for the first time and he slept all the way. I did use the babies r us especially for baby head support as it has just a thin cloth in the back and wasnt bulky to hamper safety, I ok'ed it with thepolice officer who installed the car seat first though. You can use rolled up recieving blankets, but they didnt work the way I used them.
This car seat is extremly sturdy and very safe. I wont need to buy another seat till our son is 40 lbs, so this is a fantastic investment and worth every penny. One shouldn't skimp when it comes to the safety of their child.

We were recently in a car accident and I was extremely impressed by this car seat!!!! We were hit from behind at about 45-50 mph (we were stopped) and his seat stayed put, no marks on him from the straps (I fully expected his to have SOMETHING on his body). The tether system works GREAT in our Dodge Magnum but I've always had an easy time with the installation of this seat. Now that we have to replace the seat we're looking at the Marathon because the weight limit is higher (65 lbs rather than 40 lbs) and our son is nearing 35 lbs. I would highly recommend this brand to anyone, it on the spendy side but it's an excellent, SAFE brand!

I did a lot of research on the convertible car seats out there when our daughter outgrew her infant carrier. I bought this one because of the safety rating and all of the positive reviews. I could not be more pleased. It was easy to install, the seat is very comfy for her - nice and padded. (check this before you buy because some brands have no padding at all in the seat). The denim is breathable because it is 100% cotton and it is very soft on her skin. It may cost a little more than some of the other car seats out there but it is well worth it. I Highly recommend this product!

We purchased 2 of these seats when our twin girls outgrew their infant carriers. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this seat is. Our girls are now 4 1/2 and approaching the weight limit for this seat, and although they are expensive, we are buying 2 of the Britax Marathons because we still want them in a 5 point harness. The Marathon is one of the only seats available that has that high of a weight limit WITH the 5 point harness. Although we LOVE this seat, consider the Britax Marathon instead. It is almost exactly the same only a little larger and goes up to 65 pounds (the Roundabout goes to 40 pounds). When we purchased this seat 4 years ago, the Marathon was not yet available.
This seat when installed, is rock solid and will not move at all, the staps will not twist (all of my friends complain about this in their kids' non-Britax seats), the fabric cover is removable and machine washable (air dry), and they are very comfortable for your little one. We have had ours for 4 years and our girls eat alot in the car (we're always on the go), so our covers have been washed ALOT and still look great. You can also purchase additional covers for these seats (we have an extra set, came in handy while travelling to Texas and one of the girls got carsick).
Trust Britax and rest assured that even though they are more expensive than most other car seats out there, you will never regret your decision. Considering they are going to spend the next 4 years (for the Roundabout) to 6+ years (for the Marathon) in these seats, its well worth the extra expense and peace of mind.

This car seat is NOT PLASTIC, like most you see on the market. It's really heavy duty and worth every penny. I bought it when my son was about 18 lbs, it would probably be best for over 20 lbs. We were in a 70 mph crash a few weeks ago, my son was so secure in this seat he never even woke up! This seat really straps them down tight, and supports the head really well! When I compare it to the Graco infant carrier I have, this seat is superior by 150%!

We have 3 boys and 3 Britax seats. The Roundabout, the Marathon, and a Bodyguard booster. I prefer the Roundabout over the Marathon for a few reasons: The belts are easier to tighten than on the Marathon, it rated higher in Consumer Reports for safety, and it is an easier fit rear facing. My 11 month old has been in the Roundabout since he was 2 months old. He hated the infant carrier carseat and is very happy in this seat. The Marathon goes up to 65lbs but my almost 4 year old who is small (barely 30lbs) for his age was very cramped in it with his winter coat on. So we got him a booster. I thought he would be able to use the seat much longer. If I did it over again I probably would have purchased the Regent over the Marathon. We have all 3 seats in denim and they have been washed several times and still look great.

We bought this for our baby after he outgrew his infant seat. We looked at a bunch of other models, and decided on the Britax after extensive research. It fit very comfortably in my 2002 Toyota Camry and my husband's 2001 Honda Accord. Installation is easy, and the LATCH straps make sure we installed it tightly. The tether straps were amazing, and I really felt like he was very safe and secure while driving.
As he grew bigger, the straps were easy to adjust and he still fits well in it, despite the fact he's a big kid. I do suggest the denim cover, it is very comfortable in the heat and cleans up nicely! I just ordered a second one for my husband's car.

After extensive research on the other car seats and their safety, I went with the Britax Roundabout. We bought the seat for my daughter 2 years ago, after she outgrew her Graco infant seat. I love the ease of installing the Britax seat in my car and I like the extra foam cushioning on the sides and bottom. The padding is thicker than the other brands that I have seen. Getting my daughter strapped in the seat takes very minimal time and energy, while keeping her secure. The five point harness is easy for us to use yet difficult for my daughter to un-do. I also like the velco sides for attaching the seat belts while getting my daughter in and out of her seat, especially when it gets hot. We also purchased a Century-Graco brand seat for our other car. This seat can not even compare to the Roundabout. This specific seat is made with hard plastic that makes my knees hurt when I install the seat in the car, unlike the ease of the Britax.
In this case, I believe, you get what you pay for! I am so pleased with this seat that I will get another Britax (booster) for my daughter when she outgrows the Roundabout. I believe every parent should get a Britax. It is worth every penny!

I purchased this seat for my daughter when she outgrew her infant seat at 4 months (in length, not weight). She was always comfortable in this seat and her head did not fall forward when she was sleeping as it does in the Alpha Omega we have in my husband's car. We were involved in a car accident a couple of weeks ago where I hit my head and fractured my hand (even with my seat belt on and adjusted properly) and my car sustained extensive damage. When I turned around to look at my daughter, she looked scared, but had not budged a millimeter from where I had strapped her in. The seat was still very secure in my car. I am now replacing the seat since it was in a serious accident and plan to buy another Britax, since I am confident it will protect her if we are in another accident. I have decided to purchase the Marathon instead of the Roundabout since my daughter is extremely tall for her age and I feel she will outgrow the Roundabout before she is ready for a booster (she is 28 months, weighs 30 pounds and is almost 39 inches). I would highly recommend the Britax line to anyone who asks.

I am very happy with the ROUNDABOUT and would not buy anything different. I have been searching for a while for a convertable seat after my 3rd child outgrew her infant carrier seat. I did ALOT of research through consumer report and other sites and found that the ROUNDABOUT was highly recomended for crash test ratings. This made me very confident in buying this seat even though it costs a little more than many out there. If I am paying extra for safty, it is well worth it!! Once I received the seat (after searching around for the best price, babyage.com) I was very happy with everything about it! The LATCH belts have a storage area for the belts and the TEATHER strap is built in to the seat and even has a pouch to store it in when not in use. The back of the car seat, where the straps connect, have a cover which I find VERY important expecially when traveling through an airline for protection of the straps and breakage. Overall the roundabout is well worth the money. In my opinion, if you buy the wizzard, your child will be too old by the time it reaches the weight restriction of the seat and WILL NOT want to ride in the "baby seat any more." The roundabout is good enough with the LBS. restriction that it has. You can always buy a smaller booster for your 5 yr. old down the line!!!

After much debate and reading countless safety reviews on all the different car seats, we decided on the Britax Marathon. The Marathon will take your child to 65 pounds instead of 33 pounds. It was soooo worth the money. It looks so cozy and it does not budge in the seat. This seat usually retails for $279.00 or more, but we got ours brand new on e-bay for $185.00 It pays to shop around. We are thrilled with our purchase and we also have the piece of mind knowing that our daughter is in the safest car seat out there. Oh, the Britax car seats also come in fun prints that no other car seat offers. Do the research and I am sure that you will want the safety of the Britax name for your child.

I have owned this carseat since my daughter was 10 months old and now she's 3. We love it! Everything on it is easily adjustable and user friendly, not to mention it rates highest on the safety tests. The straps are always easy to adjust for when she has a jacket on then takes it off. It's comfortable for her and it's super easy to install (we don't have LATCH). My husband and I opted not to buy two car seats for our two cars and so we are always taking it in and out of our cars with no problem. My only thought now, 2 years later, is that maybe I should have bought the marathon. My daughter is skinny and light weight and so she doesn't fit into the boosters or booster convertibles. The problem is that my second daughter is ready to take over the roundabout. I guess if you're buying for an infant you won't know if they will be skinny or not, but no matter what, hands down, this is a great carseat.

I love the Roundabout carseat. We have two -- one for each car. I did a lot of research before buying this carseat. Britax really went above my expectations.
* It is simple to install. I only read one review of someone having trouble installing it and I really don't know how it could be difficult. The first time it took us a while, but just because we wanted to make sure we were installing it correctly. I have moved it several times and it takes me less than 3 mintues to install.
* Once installed, it does not move an inch. We have used it both in the center of our SUV and on the side when we had to move it to fit another car seat. The tethers that go over the seatback are wonderful.
* It is constructed of solid material and it just feels safe. A lot of carseats I looked at felt very flimsy.
We love this car seat so much, I think we are going to get rid of our Graco infant car seat for baby #2 and get a Britax infant seat. We live in the Detroit metro area and I see lots of accidents on the freeways. I want to safest possible seat for my children.

My husband and I knew very little about carseats and early on in our research we kept hearing that Britax seats were the best. In the end we bought the Roundabout and we could not be happier! Our son grew too tall for his infant carrier at the ripe old age of 4 months so we needed a convertable seat for him earlier than anticipated. The Roundabout is plush and comfrotable, not to mention being one of the safest seats on the market. I drive a VW Jetta and the seat fits nicely in the middle. The rest of the backseat is tight but getting two more people in there is doable. We have a Graco Comfortsport in our other car and while our son likes both seats, there is a huge difference between the two. The Roundabout was fairly easy to install and it is easy to adjust the straps.
I love it and would but another in a heartbeat.

When we bought our first car seat for our Daughter, we had no idea what to buy. We ended up buying one of those stroller, car seat combos. It Would Tilt from side to side, enless we stuck it between the two front seats. When she reached 5 months, we could tell she really wasn't that comfortable in it. INfact she hated the carseat. I had an uneasy feeling that it wasn't safe for her.
After doing a lot of research we decided we should buy the Britax Roundabout. When we went into the store to buy it, we found out it was more amazing then we had first thought. It has styrofoam on the sides, incase of a side impact. It is so easy to tighten and loosen the straps. You can do this by a button up front. An added bonus, there is velco on the side of the carseat to velcro the straps in. Makes it a lot easier to get your child in and out of with those straps out of the way. Also This carseat raises your child up. So it is easier to see them, and they can see more of the world:)
We were worried about spending $200.00 on a carseat. Specially where we really didn't have the money. Well worth it. Best thing we have ever bought. You wont regret buying this!!!! Great Color Option too. Also, this Car seat is Airplan Approved. Not all car seats are. Actually Most arn't. This is something I learned on the Today show, not just from the company it's self.!!

then,after a bit of research,
i got a Roundabout for my car

simple installation

Boy! was the missus jealous!
how i would laugh as she struggled with her cockamammy
seat system
"you shoulda listerned to me!"i yelled irritatingly
until she begged me to stop.
and after getting her to admit i was right (again!)
i rewarded her with her own Roundabout seat for her car
so now our little girl is happy whichever car she's in
(although, for some unfathomable reason, she always prefers riding with mommy)

I love this carseat. It is truely easy to use even when using a lap/shoulder seatbelt. It has its own locking clip built in the side. It's comfortable, my child can fall asleep without having a crocked neck. The cover comes off easy for washing. Easy to belt your child into. hands down the best!

This carseat used to be my now 3 year olds carseat, and now that my baby's old enough, I chucked the infant carrier and finally put him in this Roundabout, at around 5 months old.
PROS
- Easy to install with the latch system
- Enough leg room rearfacing to leave a baby rearfacing up to 19 months!
- Safest carseat on the market
- Easy to adjust the width of the straps with the knob on the seat. Knob is easy to reach and use, yet a toddler could not move it
- You can adjust the height of the straps without removing the seat from the car
- Easy to remove the cover for a good washing, and also easy to wipe up
- Reclines really easily, and enough for a sleeping baby without annoying the driver/passenger seats
- Love that the five-point harness can easily attach to the sides of the carseat with Velcro, so its easy to use
- Fits well in my Subaru Outback with a booster seat
CONS
- I didnt like that my son outgrew the Roundabout before he totally outgrew the weight, he was just too long! And for the money I was expecting for this seat to be his booster as well! (although purchasing a booster and a Roundabout is cheaper than two roundabouts)
- The price tag is a bit WOW!
- I wish that the carseat came with infant head-support for usage right out of the Hospital, since my toddler was already in a booster before the baby was born.
All in all an amazing seat by Britax that has survived nearly 3 years in our family, and hopefully 3 more! Highly reccomended!

We purchased this car seat after reading the reviews on Amazon and are so happy we did. We needed a seat for our growing 10 month-old son before we left on a 16-hour car trip. It was easy to install and our son was so comfortable compared to his infant carrier. It made a very long drive an absolute breeze and I would highly recommend this seat to anyone considering this item for purchase. It is worth every penny.

Great seat! No problems so far.....installed it in Feb or so. It does loosen every now and then (the fit to the car, not the harness in the seat). I don't know what causes it, could be something with our seats. Our son seems to be comfortable in it. We had to hook the tether onto an "anchor point" on the rear of the front passenger seat, and this was kind of awkward but seems to work. Great straps, no twisting.
Love It!

I love this car seat. It is easy to install...both forward and rear facing. It's light-weight. It's easy to get my daughter in and out of. And my daughter is very comfortable in it. Looking back, however, I wish I would have purchased the marathon only because it goes up to 65 lbs. I bought this seat when my daughter was about 10 months and outgrew the baby-seat. She's now 2 1/2 and I'll have to purchase another seat pretty soon. We have really liked this product!

We recently purchased the Britax Roundabout seat for our five month old. He outgrew his infant carrier very rapidly. We couldn't be more pleased with this seat. It was very easy to install. The instruction manual was easily comprehended. We purchased it at the Babies R Us store for $199. The quality of the fabric cover is outstanding. We received an Alpha Omega Elite car seat as a gift and had it installed by a certified seat installer. It just didn't seem to fit correctly. We couldn't get the level correct no matter what we tried. I would highly recommed this seat to anyone. Having done all the research with regard to car seats I came to the conclusion that the cost is certainly justified when it comes to my sons safety and comfort.

I purchased this carseat for my daughter and have been using it for almost 2 years and we just love it. I find that it installs very easily. I have never had a problem with the straps becoming twisted the way many other models do. It is very comfortable for her, even on long trips. The denim fabric is very durable and washes well. I have no complaints!

We decide to buy just one really good carseat instead of two cheaper ones and its great!! We have two cars so we are constantly switching the seat from car to car. It only takes a few minutes to readjust the tabs for each car and it is easy to put the baby in. The straps easily adjust to the constantly changing size of the baby.

I ordered this car seat after reading the reviews...and I am so pleased with my purchase. We started using this seat after my son outgrew his infant carrier at about 9 months. We used it rear facing until he was a year. It was a little hard to install in my car in the rear facing position, but after a little time and practice we got it right. Now that he's over a year it is front facing. It's much easier to install this way. He loves being able to see, and I love that the straps never twist, it is very easy to tighten the straps from the front, and that it is one of the safest seats out there. I would highly recommend this seat.

Grandma bought a lesser brand for her car and our son screams because it is just not comfortable like his roundabout. We are graduating to the Marathon and maybe little brother (or sister) can use this one. A fantastic value for your child's comfort and safety. Easy to install and easy in and out with baby. Peace of mind.

We own two of these carseats for our 6 month old twin sons. They are amazing in both quality, and comfortability!
We were shopping for a Britax seat and found out that the Roundabouts would be our best option for the price (less than the marathon) and ease of use. We installed both rear-facing with the LATCH system in just 15 minutes, and when checked by highway patrol, we found that they were installed correctly! That means we wont need 4 seats, two for both cars... we would just keep them in the middle row of my minivan (NOT bucket seats, the middle seat and seat behind driver... other seat is folded down for easy access into the 3rd row) and can be easily transported into my husbands average sized car. It reqlines at the perfect angle for them, and they dont need to have a pool noodle, or a papertowel roll underneath to make it reqline right, (which is unsafe)! The five-point harness also rests perfectly, and its not on their theighs or rolling off their shoulders... THATS IMPORTANT! I also found it easy to put the boys inside of the seats, the buckle is easy to undo to place them in or take them out (but too hard for any child under the age of 7 to do) and theres velcro on the sides to keep the straps out of the way. The straps are easy to adjust in width, but in hieght you will need to take off the seat cover, which isnt a problem because you dont have to do this too often. Its also at the PERFECT hight for them to see out the windows, but also at the right hieght for the driver to see out the back as well. The cover is plush and comfortable for the baby, yet the boys dont get over-heated or too cold. Its easy to "spot clean" and also easy to take off and wash in the macine. Its made so that the boys sleep well in it, their heads go to the sides, or occasionally foward... not the seats fault at all, no seat can provent that. They also seem to have the perfect amount of leg-room while rear-facing... something that is lacking in the design of other carseats. It can also hold up to 40 lbs, not 60 lbs like the marathons, but our boys will still get long useage out of it (maybe until around 4ish... by then we will be borrowing an older booster or something...) which is important since we dont want to be buying 4 carseats or something!
The Roundabout is amazing, its easy to use and comfortable for the twins... We all love it, and I am so glad that we own it.

I have this carseat except in the Cascade material (tan). I have yet to have the straps get twisted I love the velcro side. The belly pad is a must-although grandparents did need a little instruction. It is definately one of the more expensive carseats out there. I didn't buy it from this site-I went into a search engine and found a retailer that had last season's color for $159.00 with free shipping.

We bought this car seat for our 11 month daughter. The straps are so easy to adjust and never get tangeled like the other brands do. Our daughter is safe and secure. We have 2 Britax car seats now one for each car and wouldn't put our daughter in anything else. It's a pricey car seat but when it comes to our baby we only want the best!

I've had this car seat for over 6 years. I've used it on 2 kids and it is still working fine. I got new cover for my 2nd child and after that it looked brand new. This was the best investment for me. I have recently upgraded my 2nd daughter to the Britax Bodyguard Booster. I will have to see how that one works out.

I originally purchased a more affordable (cheap) Graco model and ended up regretting it rather quickly. The Graco was not very stable, not matter how tight I latched it in. My sister told me how wonderful the Roundabout was so I splurged. It was so easy to get in and out of the car and once latched in, it doesn't BUDGE.

My granddaughter loves to be in her seat. It was easy to install, fits perfect in the car and easy to get McKayla in and out of. My friends at work recommended it. It has been 25 years since I had a child and I was not up to speed. This works out perfect for the two of us when we are off to a new adventure. I highly recommend this to parents as well as grandparents.

This is the second Britax Roundabout Convertible Car Seat that we have purchased. (We originally purchased one for our son almost two years ago, and the second one is for our daughter.) The seat is easy to put in the car in either direction. The denim cover is easy to remove when it needs to be washed. And the straps can be tightened quickly.
A definite winner!!

We absolutely adore our child's Britax Roundabout. We have it in the denim color and it has worn beautifully--she's been riding in it for over a year now. We moved our child into the RA when she outgrew her Graco Snugride.
Safety was (and is!) our number one priority with carseats and we really love the high rear-facing weight-limit (33 pounds) of this seat and will keep our child rear-facing as long as she is eligible. She currently is 19 months and 29 pounds and still rides rear-facing.
We have taken this seat with us on eight airplane flights and have installed it with no problems on all of those flights--and yes, she was rear-facing on those flights. Be prepared though--having the seat rear-facing on an airplane means that the person seated in front of the carseat cannot recline their seat. Most people have been very nice about this, but we did get some snarky comments from one flight attendant on our last flight. Oh well--safety first!
We have installed it in rental cars as well as our Jeep Liberty and have had no problems with easy installation. In our Jeep Liberty we do not have LATCH in the center position (many cars don't--and you don't want to accidentally use the LATCH from the two outboard positions if you're putting the seat in the center!!) so we use the seatbelt as well as the rear-facing tether and the seat is in there as solid as a rock!! We've had it inspected by certified carseat safety inspectors and they have been VERY impressed with how secure the seat is.
Our child is very tall for her age and her days in the Roundabout are numbered, so I just ordered her a Britax Marathon to have at the ready for when she outgrows this seat. She is 35 inches and 29 pounds at 19 months and the tips of her ears aren't at the edge of the plastic yet (one of the markers of being too tall for the seat) but they're getting close!!
We really do recommend this seat--we were fortunate enough to find it at one of the nationwide wholesale clubs for a bit less than it is at BRU, but it is a fantastic seat at any price.

I own three Roundabouts, one is in Popsicle (cute, pink and "summer" colors) and two in the teddy bear themes (navy with brown teddy bears).
I first chose the Roundabout Convertible Car seat for my daughter because it was rated highly in consumer reports. I decided on it over the Marathon due to its smaller size, and lower cost. When I was pregnant with my twins, I was already a loyal Britax owner, and had been more than satisfied with the purchase made for my daughter. I also decided not to place any of my children in infant car seats, due to the wide selection, short-term usage, and constantly changing safety ratings and designs.
(1) I have managed to fit all three of the Roundabouts, comfortably, in my minivan. I have chosen to keep one of the in the middle seat of the second row, the other behind the driver. I then placed my daughters seat in the third row, "behind the passenger seat". I know that they are safer in the middle, but this arrangement made it the easiest way for me to use them. I also used the LATCH system for all three of the car seats, and they fit wonderfully, I also had them all installed in about 1/2 an hour (or 10 minutes each)! I would also like to add that before I purchased the van, my daughters Roundabout fit perfectly in the center seat of my convertible (no rear doors).
(2) The seats can hold up to 44 lbs (or somewhere in the 40 lb range) and that's more than enough, being that I was planning on purchasing boosters for the children to use until they were around 6-9 years old any way. I also found that the seats will last us a long time, being that my daughter is nearly two, and no where near outgrowing hers, she was even rear-facing until around 17 months old...
(3) The seats are easy to adjust as well. I can adjust the harnesses easily, while all of the car seats are still tethered into the car. Adjusting the recline is also fairly easy, and I am thankful for this... especially after hearing the complaints about the Triumph, which my friend owns for her 14 month old.
(4) The five-point harness is great. Its easy to adjust, as I just mentioned and very comfortable. The children seem to be very content in their seats, and the harness is correctly placed as well. I also love that Britax included Velcro on the insides of the car seats, out of the way of the babies, so that you can keep the straps out of the way while buckling/unbuckling the harness.
(5) The car seat is also very well padded. Its comfortable when the children sleep, and it offers them with stability, and comfort. The boys dont sweat too much either, another reoccurring problem in the Triumphs design.
I couldn't ask for a better car seat, because the Roundabout is great. Its perfect for various families, and is defiantly a great choice in baby gear.

We now have 3 of these seats and I can't say enough good things about them. We love them! We started off with 1 and another brand. The other brand was a pain from the start and my daughter cried every time we put her in it. When she was old enough to talk she told us it hurt her bottom. We actually wasted $120 because we replaced that seat with another Roundabout and even bought a third for my Mother. I have used more types of seats than I could ever count because I was in child care and a Nanny. I hated every seat I ever used until I used a Britax. It is so easy to install and use. I have had it in many different cars and always been able to get it so tight that it seemed like it was built into the car. We have one without LATCH and 2 with. I don't even feel LATCH is necessary with a Britax, but it sure is easier. We have twins now that are ready to move into these seats, so I need to purchase something else for our daughter. I have researched extensively and can't find anything better than the Britax Marathon. She is 5 years old, but only 33 pounds. She would like a belt-positioning booster, but my pediatrician says wait till 40 pounds even though the manufacturers say 30 pounds. So, I'm going to use my tax return to buy 2 Marathons; 1 for my husband's car and 1 for mine. Later when she's ready for the belt positioning booster our twin boys will use the Roundabouts in our car and the Marathons in our van.

I agonized over spending so much on a car seat but we had tried several others with our first two children and I really wanted something safe, comfortable and easy to use. I read every review I could find and did a poll at work before caving in and getting one. It was well worth the money. My son used this seat from 8 months to nearly 4 years and we never had a single problem or complaint with it. Save yourself a fortune in the long run and buy this seat the first time.

We have a 5 month old who has outgrown her Graco Snugride. When it comes to the Marathon versus the Roundabout you need to know that the Marathon will NOT fit into every car. We drive an Audi A4 and there is no way the Marathon will fit!! From online reviews I was sold on the Marathon until we went to check it out at the store. From what I read, the Marathon does not fit into many larger cars, including SUVs. It is large, particularly it is very long and even in the middle of the back seat it hits the driver and passenger seats. The Roundabout fits nicely even reclined in our small A4. That's all I can say as we haven't bought the Roundabout yet, but will shortly.

Although others have reviewed Britax seats and given them high ratings, I would tell you not to buy Britax. We have the Roundabout carseat and it's been popping out of the lock-offs no matter which car we've tried it in. This causes the seat to move quite a bit since the lock-offs are supposed to keep the tight seatbelt in place. When I contacted Britax, they sent new lock-offs for us to install, but that didn't fix the problem. When I called again to tell them our seat isn't safe and needs to be replaced, they told me they couldn't do anything for me. After spending $200 on a car seat to keep our precious cargo safe, you'd think they'd be willing to replace it. Do not buy from Britax -- they won't help you if you have a problem with your seat. It's the most disappointing customer service I've ever received.

Everyone said it was the best so I bought it. It has worked so far. The function I like best is the ease in which I can take it out of the car, using the latch system. Of course, it doesn't hurt that you can buy a Michigan Wolverine seat cover to make it respectable. GO BLUE !!
