We have taken this seat on three flights overseas and on a couple of domestic flights, as well as on many car trips at home and abroad. It is great! It is quick and easy to install forward or backward on airplanes and in cars. On some plane seats the buckle is under the childs bottom, but the cushioning is adequate, my son has never complained. He seems very comfortable in it. "Baby Bargains" recommended this seat for travel back when my son was a baby, and I am online ordering one for my daughter right now. If you expect to travel, this seat is an essential. It is light enough that lugging it around airports, cruiseships and such is not a total pain (although as with any seat, it is nice to have a bag, we've done it both with and without).

I'm going to buy a new car seat even though my 12 mo. old son weighs 28 lbs. and should be able to stay in it for alot longer (up to 40 lbs.). The straps are let all the way out and it's still too tight for him. I wouldn't recommend this car seat for chunky babies.

When buying a convertable car seat for our daughter, we were looking for one that was not only safe and easy to install, but also would be extra comfortable. Both mine and my husbands families live a day's drive away, and we wanted a car seat that would be extra soft and comfortable. This one has turned out to be wonderful! Very easy to install, has the 5-point harness which is the safest way to strap a baby in, and the padding is thick and cozy. Very simple to turn it from rear-facing to forward-facing. I've noticed that I cannot loosen the straps unless I completely take it out of the car, and I'm going to have to get the manual to figure it out, but I'm sure I'll get it. (Side note: I also took this as a checked item on a flight, and the car seat made it without a scratch!)
