We have two of these seats for my daughter -- one in her dad's car and one in my parents' car. It's easy to install and pretty easy to use overall, but there are several things I don't like about it. First, the cup holder comes off the seat all the time. We also have a Graco TurboBooster, and I love that the cup holder slides in and out rather than having to be "hooked" onto the carseat. We have used the CarGo with the harness and with a shoulder/lap belt. When using the harness, it's pretty easy to strap my daughter in and the straps are long enough to adjust and readjust. However, the buckle at the crotch is short and not adjustable -- and I always end up pinching my 4-year-old daughter's inner thighs when strapping her in. It's just a tight fit! I wish it were longer or could be moved a little farther towards the edge of the seat. When using a shoulder/lap belt, it takes longer than I would like to thread the shoulder strap thru the part by the child's head. When my daughter gets out, I have to undo the entire shoulder/lap belt again -- such a pain! I prefer the Graco TurboBooster, but it doesn't have a harness system. It's just easier to use with the shoulder/lap belt and my daughter can get herself in and out of the car -- which she can't do with the CarGo. The CarGo has the right idea -- but needs some revisions!

We got this seat when our son grew out of his snugride. We have always been happy with Graco and were happy to find this one. We wanted something that would last that didn't cost hundreds of dollars. We often take 6 hour trips to my parents' house and he seems to be very comfortable. The cupholder and snack holder are great. We use it with the LATCH system and it is pretty easy to take in and out of the car. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it doesn't recline very well. You almost have to take the seat out to flip the recling bar and even then is doesn't recline very far. So sometimes my son's head falls forward when he falls asleep. But I've looked at other seats and they seem to be the same way.

Mostly happy with the Cargo Booster Seat

I bought the Cargo Booster by Graco after being talked into it by a lady at Babie-R-Us. She liked it for the useable cup holder (The Britax ones are too shallow), the head rest, and the fact that it had harness straps for those of us that just aren't ready to go without them just yet. My son is big for 3 1/2 and about 40 lbs and he fits into it very nicely. I have not tried the seatbelt with it yet. I am however, a bit dissappointed with the harness straps. I had been using a Britax Roundabout and it has little buttons on the straps that prevent the buckles from falling way down into the seat. I find that with this seat I am constantly fishing for them, once my son sits down. Also the Britax had velcro to hold the straps out the way (so they aren't behind the child once he sits down) and I didn't realize how nice that was until I didn't have it. I may add some velcro to this seat and try to find some sort of button or grommet to prevent the buckles from sliding all the way down.
My favorite part about this seat is the toy holder on the side. My son loves it. I was also very happy with the padding on the seat. It seems very comfortable. Overall a good booster seat with a very easy to remove cover.

My daughter is 3 years old and we bought this carseat as an extra carseat so stay in out other vehicle (due to the fact that my husband left the house to go to work with the only carseat we had in his truck) So we purchased this one knowing that our daughter was growing and she could ultimately use this one after she grows out of her Britax one. The only 2 things that I do not like about this carseat is that the straps are connected under the carseat so if you pull one side out the other side is tight...the other thing is that when she falls asleep her head does not rest on the side of the carseat and it looks rather uncomfortable.

But other than those 2 things I love the seat. I really like the cup holder and it is light and easy to install.

I have used this seat for a toddler (under 30 lbs.) I LOVE that it is more narrow than our other car seat. It actually fits in the space that most cars leave for one seat. My other car seat is so big that whoever sits next to it is always squished. The harness system is really nice. It's graco, so it isn't too hard to use. My daughter looks really snug and secure in it. I have never used it with a seat belt, but it looks like it would be a pain. If you are looking for something to use with a seat belt, I would NOT recommend this. Try the Turbo Booster instead!

We have had this seat for about 2 years now, I think. My son is 3 and a half now, just under 40lbs and I forget how tall - he's 75% in his age group. Anyway, this is a good seat. We like it. I've read all the complaints, but none of them bother me. I've never had the cup holder come off, or the buckle pinch my son, or my son's head hanging forward when he falls asleep. Actually, I haven't had ANY complaints for this seat. I'm probably going to buy another one for him for my car. My daughter is just about out of her infant seat and I will put her in my son's Britax Marathon (rear-facing of course!). Which is another GREAT carseat. But the Graco is much less expensive (didn't want to say "cheaper").

I bought two of these from TRU for my twins about 6 weeks ago. They are almost 6 and have been able to clip themselves in and out of their car seats for about a year and a half. They have always complained about our long road trips and the hard seats that we had in the past. I went for these due to the wonderful padding in the seat. That is where the compliments end. I used one as a booster seat and one with the 5 point harness for my tiniest twin. There was trouble from the start. I have a Suzuki XL-7, the seats are too wide to use these as a booster. My son could never find the latch for the seat belt. Either I had to latch it for him or his sister would latch him in first and then latch herself into the 5 point harness...then came cold weather with heavy coats...now my daughter has to take her coat off in the car because I can't get the harness straps to losen enough to get her under it. I have to take the seat out to get the harness to losen.

Also, you have to be really careful about latching the seatbelt when used as a booster. The belt gets caught on the arm cusions and does not fit snuggly against the child's abdomen/pelvis area to be safe. Make sure you pull it tight...the child will not be able to get it tight enough.

The shoulder strap holders are stationary. The do not let slack into or out of the shoulder belt. You, as the adult, physically have to take them out of the shoulder slots and put them back in after the child is seated in the seat.

I was very fortunate that the manager at TRU let me bring these back and exchange them for a simpler booster. Now they both have the traditional narrow booster seat and they are happy except for the lack of cushion on the seat...I'll probably run to the craft store and get a 1/2" foam sheet and cut it to fit under the seat cover for those really long road trips.

This purchase was by far, the most disappointing. I've always had Graco car seats...this one is just designed awkwardly.

Very Pleased!

I bought the one with the harness system because my son is tall, but wasn't quite heavy enough for just the shoulder/lap belt positioner. I loved this seat! It was easy to adjust, comfortable for my son, and I will grow with him until he is able come out of the booster seat! He is six now, and using the booster seat with the belt positioner, I really like that it locks the belt into place so I don't have to rethread it everytime he gets in and out, and it's already adjusted to the right fit! It is narrow, so it is very easy to use when you are using more than one car seat! On our trips to the grandparents who live 8 hrs away my son is very comfortable, and I like that it gives him more support when he falls asleep than the backless varieties! I didn't give it 5 stars because, after some washing the head rest pillow deformed and is now a little lumpy, however my son does not complain. I would have given 4.5 stars if I could!

This is the best seat ever!!!
I purchased 2 of these as I have twins and after doing a lot of research on many convertable seats I found this one to be the best overall.
First it is not too pricey. It works for children 25-100 lbs. so it is the only seat you will ever have to buy after the babies are to big for their infant seats. It is made by a great company that always gets a high rating from consumer reports in crash tests. It is pretty easy and simple to install. You can attach it to the car with the latch system in newer cars or use the seat belts in older cars. It has the five point harness still for kids up to 40 lbs. or you remove this and use the shoulder/lap belt in your car once they are bigger than 40 lbs. It is foward facing which the kids seamed to like being able to see more than in the rear facing, as well as this makes getting them in and out of the car easier. It has a removable headrest that is very cushy and helps support their little necks, you can remove it when they get bigger. the seat itself if very cushioned as well. My babies have fallen asleep in it quickly after leaving home. the seat also can be adjusted to sit straight up for bigger kids or be slightly reclined for smaller babies or toddlers. The best seat all around. I would recommend/buy this for anyone. A++++++++

Overall I really like this car seat. It is comfortable for my daughter and she likes using the cup holder. Was easy to assemble and install, and fits nicely in the back seat of my car. My only criticism is that I have to dig out the lower clasps each time I load her in. I look forward to the point when she grows big enough to use the seatbelt instead.

This carseat was incredibly easy to install, definitely fool-proof. I also really like how it goes from a carseat for my 12 month old who just outgrew his infant seat to a booster seat that will last him through the years. The easy strap adjustment is great for winter coats too. We have a Britax convertable in our car and I bought this for Grandma and Grandpa's car, and he'll go into it in our car once he outgrows his Britax. If I had to say something bad about it, the buckle across the chest on the 5-point harness that should be kept at under-arm level tends to slide down due to the angle of where the buckle joins the strap. Still a great product and the cup/snack holder is great, don't have one of those on my $220 Britax!

While this is not the prettiest car seat in the world, it is easy to
use and it seems safe. So far we are using the harness. My baby is 20 months and 27 pounds. The sides are cut very low so that the seatbelt will go across the child's hips when you get to that point. The only problems I have with it are that my daughter cannot reach the cupholder and that the pillow at the top and on the sides is black vinyl and we live in the desert. My daughter loves her new seat.

First of all, let me say that I'm not use to this type of harness so it's affected my over all opinion. I like the type of car seat that has the bar you just pull down and the belt goes over babies head and locks in place between his legs; one easy step. It's so much easier to get him in and out and he loves taking the straps off himself, like helping to undress himself.

Because I'm not use to this kind of harness system this car seat is much harder for me to get him into, having to snap the two belts into the lock between his legs and then the chest locking device. He hates my fumbling with the belts so long, trying to get everything latched. Then it is difficult to get the two belts unlocked. And it's not any more secure or safer than the one I'm use to. (I prefer the easier, one step harness).

The car seat is nicely padded and seems very comfortable once he's in. It's easy to install in the car and locks in pretty securely with the
latch system. The detachable head rest is a waste though, he just takes it off and throws it on the floor. The design of the seat is great for napping, the sides support his head nicely. It has all the latch belts and over head locking belts required by law now and seems like a really safe car seat.

For the price, and the fact that it will take him up to the age he no longer needs a car seat anymore, it's a really nice, safe seat for the price. As good as any I've seen on the market and better than many.
