After using the Sunshine Kids Ultra Mat for 4 months, I purchased two more mats. This is the best seat protector I found for several reasons:
br /- It doesn't smell. I had to return everything I had bought at Babies R Us due to a heavy rubber smell that never went away even after airing the products for a week.
br /- It's made of two pieces so it can be used in stages. Use the bottom piece only when using a rear-facing infant seat, or both pieces when using a front-facing car seat.
br /- It's made of two pieces so it fits any height car seat. I have a Britax car seat which is really tall. The other seat protectors did not reach all the way to the top of my SUV's seat, so the car seat rested directly on the leather, but with this seat protector, I could raise the back piece as high as I needed it to fully protect my SUV's seat.
br /- It's thick enough that even after months of use, there's no marks on the SUV's leather seats.
br /- It has indentations in the bottom portion to accommodate car seats using the latch system.
br /
br /A note on the height issue: A friend of mine bought the Duomat 2-In-1 Car Seat Mat, which he found to be very nice as well and it did not smell. He had to return it however due to the fact that the mat was not as high as the seat of his Honda Odyssey, and his Britax Marathon car seat at the very top rested directly on the Honda seat with no protector in between.
The Best!!

This seat mat is the best I have ever seen and used. It comes in 2 parts- 1 just for an infant seat and both for any forward facing seats. There is also a part that tucks into the crevice of the seat to keep it from moving. It is able to be used with cars that have the latch system, though I do have to say that the covers are a little wide, but you can still latch the carseat. All in all, this seat cover is the best!

Well, almost perfect. This works great, looks great, and doesn't smell like some other brands that I've tried. It is the perfect size - not too big, not too small. It goes high enough up the back that it actually protects the top of the seat, as well! My only complaint is that I want to protect my headrest, too. The mat is designed to sit just below the headrest. I can move it up, but then I can't latch the carseat in the back of the seat. I'm considering making a hole in the mat to allow the belt to go thru. But, this is just so I can use it how it isn't really intended to be used.

br /Overall, great product. I've tried others that I didn't like at all and returned. When I had my son, I bought another for his seat, too.
Easy to use. Tight installation. Not wide enough to cover seat on sides.

Shipment was very fast. It was easy to use.
br /The actual slits to access the latch/belts are wider than in former models or what it is shown in the pictures. I guess they acknowledged prior complaints of difficult access. However, the tongue that slides in between the seat and the back to secure mat in place, now is narrower; don't know if that has an impact on security; it does not seem to interfere with the installation because the grip of the rest of the fabric is good. It also leaves a wider gap that may allow spills to get to the seats.
br /The fabric of the protector bunched up a little after the car seats were installed, but I sealed-tight them to the maximum. They do not move at all.
br /It leaves 1-2 inch of exposed fabric on the side of the seat ( Honda Odyssey/ mid row seats). But it is wide and tall enough to protect the seat from the car seat (Britax Roundabout). And comparing measurements, reviews, and safe installation of car seats, this still seems to be the best choice in the market.
br /It has two pieces; one for the seat, one for the back, that overlap, leaving more room for adjustment in height. Color is darker than in pictures. It has no rubbery smell unlike others. Long term results ....do not know yet.

After reading and hearing from other people about rubber and/or other chemical smells coming off some of the new auto seat protectors, this became one of our biggest concerns and we were very careful which one to buy. We went into several stores and tried to smell the product before purchasing it. They all smelled horrible. Based on a reviewer here that said this one did not have the rubber smell that many others did, we took a chance and ordered this one. That reviewer was right! It did not smell the way many in the store did and we are extremely happy with this purchase.
Great Investment

I recently bought a Tahoe with leather seats and I have 2 kids, both forward facing in the Alpha Omega Elite car seat. I only purchased this to protect the seats and decrease slipage. I am able to use the latch system without a problem. I did make a hole in the top of the mat to accomodate the teather strap under the headrest. The mat goes all the to the top of the headrest which is really nice. I also can't really use all of the toy pouches with my car seats, the base hangs over the openings. But not really a feature I was buying this for.
A must have...

I've been using this product for a couple weeks now and it is a must have for people with leather seats. No creases in my seats like my sisters! I use it with a Graco Carseat base.

I purchased this item to use behind a tall full-sized booster seat to protect our leather seats. It works great and covers the entire seat. It stays secure with the strap that hooks behind the headrest and the way it tucks into the seat at the bottom, instead of falling down when you move the carseat. I also like the fact that you can use just the bottom part of the pad for when we don't need to use the back part of the booster seat as our daughter gets older. This product is very thick and protects the seat well, as well as looking very nice.

We recently purchased a Sienna van and was looking for something to protect the leather seats in the van. We decided on the Ultra Mat based on the reviews we read on Amazon.com and are very happy with our purchase!

I bought 2 of these for separate cars and I am very impressed so far, easy to install, tall enough to cover my entire seat - and full protection from my super large tall Eddie Bauer forward facing seat. Padding is good and in the right places - i think it could be a bit thicker, but we'll see over time.
br /
br /I installed both of them in small/midsize SUV's with leather seating and the pad is a bit wide, but i can understand the reasoning behind it since it is supposed to be universal.
br /
br /the only issue i have right now is the seatbelt/latch fold/opening is never in the right spot for either car... again not that big of an issue, and may be due to the width of the seat, but i can see it being perfect in a minivan. either way, the latch straps or seat belt just presses on top of the padding as well, so its not a huge problem. it has a no slip bottom - so its safer as well. 2 piece design is perfect and pockets have been useful...

br /i highly recommend this to anyone with leather seating and a carseat that can dent or scratch it.

I went online and retail stores to check up different brands of seat protectors, and found this product worked the best for me. It's light weight and provides more coverage. It is not as thick as Prince Lionheart one but thick enough to protect my leather seat from any kind of dent or mark. It's water prove and does absorb a little water. I only hand wash it once and it looks pretty okay. I don't think I would ever thorw it in a washing machine though. Good product.

It's padded and strong, probably the only one in the marked that would protect high back leather seat. It does it's job perfectly. Will buy another one soon.

Again, this is 'okay,' mat to cover your car seat. My back seats are rather large and it barely covers them. If you have smaller car seats this may be okay for you. It is at least protecting the leather seats but I would have liked something larger.
