I had a lot of trouble choosing a convertible carseat when my son outgrew his infant carrier. We didn't have a large budget and everything in my budget was rated low or "suitable for back-up". After reading everything online I could find, and actually looking at the carseats in person at the store, I went with this model.
br /
br /It installs easilly, is not difficult to adjust the strap height if you read the directions, works well both with the latch system and without, is small enough to fit in my smaller car, and seems to be comfortable for my son. Oh, and no trouble with straps twisting. And baby loves the handy little mesh pockets for his toys!
br /
br /The only down-side is that if he falls asleep, his head slumps sideways, but I don't think that's unique to this model...just a downside of sitting upright.
br /
br /So coming from someone that can't afford $200 carseats for our vehicles, this one does very well as our full-time carseat, and I may very well buy a second one for my husband's vehicle when finances allow.
br /
br /My advice is to read the directions. And if you have any trouble getting it fitted, take advantage of your local police/fire-department services. I accidently put the seatbelt through the wrong slot and had trouble with the seat tipping over (!!!), but the day that happened, I made one phone call to the police department's expert and she knew exactly what I'd done and how to correct it. No problems since (and wouldn't have been if I'd read the directions properly in the first place).

This was the most comfy, visually attractive, and easiest to use carseat we tried, and we tried many. My daughter is long and thin, and this fits her well without being too bulky like most of the other seats. The straps are easy to use as soon as you get the hang of it, and she is very happy in it (except for boredom in the car).

I bought this car seat for our main car seat after buying a Britax car seat (which was twice as much). I figured that they both looked nice and comfy so what could be the difference? The Difference is in the installation and adjustment. This seat to me is EXTREMELY difficult to put into your car correctly. The strap that connects to the LATCH system is situated so that when you can't get a good angle to really wrench it down tight...which is what you need to do with this seat to get into place. In addition when this seat is in the Rear Facing position, it will easily pitch forward when you strap your little one in and pull up on the tightening strap. One of our cars has a tether strap hook on the floor so that solved that problem, but if your car doesn't have that, it is something to be careful of. The leg straps also seem to get twisted pretty easily.
br /
br /On the Up side, it is cheap. But is that a good thing if you can't adjust it to the point of feeling safe? And it goes up to 80lbs. It seems like once I am able to put it in the front facing position, it will be a lot more stable. (due to the tether strap)
br /
br /So I would really not recommend this seat to someone who might be moving it between cars at all, or has a car without a floor tether hook and putting it rear facing. Check out a Britax. A little more money but worth it.

After looking the actual carseat in the store, I decided to go for this one. If you read the installation instructions carefully for just once then life is so easy for installation. The product sits very securely in rear facing or front facing conditions. It has nice enough recline in front facing position so that our daughter sits in very comfortably. The head pillow is a bit large but not at at uncomfortable. The fabric is very great and easily washable. The net side pockets are great and shoulder belt pads are wonderful. I would strongly recommend this car seat for those who are looking for something around $100. Sears has it on sale for $109.

This carseat is not only great priced but, a great buy product too.My 6 month old loves this seat and falls asleep now everytime she sits in it.The installation is a little tricky and if you don't read the manual and your car manual you may have a hard time. The Latch system works wonderful and if it is rear facing and the seat seems to be tipping forward then the seat is positioned incorrectly. There is a marking on the top of the seat that tells you to the line level with the ground and if it is not it will tip. If you still can't get it you can always go to the firestation and they will install it for you.

My wife and I bought this on a Wednesday, received it on the following Friday, and installed it Saturday, and removed it by Sunday in the early evening and had it in the box, paperwork printed out to return it.
br /
br /Installation - NO PROBLEM. So long as you can read and understand the directions, installation shouldn't take more than about 10 minutes, and it was fairly easy.
br /
br /Comfortableness - LOUSY. The adjustable pillow is ENORMOUS. Yes, it is conveniently adjustable, but it extends forward from the seat-back about 3 inches. It is also not removable, so we couldn't just remove it so we could still use it.
br /
br /It may not happen to all babies, but our son's head was pushed forward too much for us to feel comfortable leaving him in it for any length of time.
br /
br /I suggest if you're looking to purchase a car seat, go to the store where you can put your mitts on them and babies in them, decide if you like it in the store, and then order it from somewhere online. After this carseat is sent back, my wife and I plan on doing just that.

Our 6 month old baby loves her new seat. She sits up higher than she did in her Graco carrier seat. She is very comfortable in it. I wouldn't suggest putting a newborn in it though. Wait until the baby has good head control.

My wife and I both attempted to install this car seat in the rear facing position with the LATCH straps. We found it impossible to get into a position in which we could really "wrench" it in place. Our 7 month old son never made it into the car seat as we never felt safe. Returned to Target next day after purchasing.

We were able to test out this car seat (forward facing) for a weekend. It was very uncomfortable because it does not have adequate head support on the side. When our son (21 mo) napped he would slouch over to the side and then wake up because he was too uncomfy.
br /
br /The strap adjustment was ok. Because it was a temporary installment, we used the car's shoulder belt, and that was fairly straight-forward. We didn't use the latch, so I cannot comment on the trouble other reviewers had.

I was disappointed with the straps, they keep twisting. I also find it difficult to tighten or loosen the straps while my child is facing back. I am hoping the seat will be easier to use when facing forward. I wish I had researched this one better.

This is a nice car seat. My 2 years old daughter loves to sit in there. It seems comfortable for her and the price is good too. The only part I don't like is when my daughter falls into sleep in the car seat, the pop up head pillow will make her head sway forward or to the side. I have to try to use two small pillows trying to fix her head when she falls into sleep.

The Eddie Bauer Deluxe Convertible Car Seat is easy to set up and use. Our Grandson seems comfortable in it (although using it is not his option!) Our local safety rep reminded us that in our older car we should fasten all unused seatbelts into each other so the loose metal ends are not free to fly around in case of an accident (since we don't have retractable seat belts in the back seat).

I was initially sceptical about buying this product. We already have Eddie Bauer Delux 3 in 1 convertible car seat which goes upto 100 lbs. We found that car seat comfortable but a little difficult to install rear facing.
br /
br /When we needed a second inexpensive car seat for 10 minutes of daily use, we decided to buy this from amazon. This car seat only goes upto 80 lbs. But we found it easy to install rear facing. Since it is a little bit smaller than more expensive car seat which goes upto 100 lbs, it is can recline more. It also has a better latch design and unlike the more expensive one, it does not pinch.
br /
br /We felt that we should have bought two of these car seats instead of more expensive one.

This seat seems SO comfortable, I wish I could get a few in bigger sizes for the whole family! My 6 month old used to cry every time I put him in his infant seat, but in this one he is perfectly content. It is very easy to use and ajust, and I can tell the mesh pockets and cup holder will come in very handy in the years to come.
br /
br /But I had to take away two stars because it is so hard to install properly rear facing. I drive a '94 Dodge Caravan and I do not have LATCH on my vehicle, so I had to instal it using the seat belt. In order to install it at the right incline, I had to put towels under the front of the seat. It was VERY wobbly no matter how tight we made it. It was pretty comical seeing me laying over the seat and my husband pulling on the belt with all his might! Finally I took it to a certified car seat tech and they gave me some foam pool noodle pieces to use instead of the towels, and now I finally feel safe putting my son in it.
br /
br /So if you buy this seat, I highly reccomend finding a certified car seat tech in your area. (Most fire and police departments have one, make sure they are certified, it requires over 40 hours of training and yearly renewal classes)

I really liked this seat until my son turned 2. I noticed that it was becoming increasingly tight in the crotch strap. Its not adjustable there so despite wanting to use it for its full lifetime, we had to switch. He is tall but far from being a huge kid. At 29 months, he is 38 in and 30lbs. I think if the crotch strap had been adjustable, we would have been able to use it until he hit the upper limit.

I bought this thinking it would fit in either my Landcruiser or my Camry. It is great in the Landcruiser. I can put it in the middle or on the side. As for the Camry...I have to put it on the back passenger side and push the seat all the way forward...which is terrible for long legged people like myself. If I put it in the middle, then both seats would have to be pushed all the way forward, which makes driving a bit difficult and unsafe, I would assume.
br /Once figuring out how to put the towel underneath the seat for rear facing and getting the lines parellel to the floor, my son fits pretty good in it. His head still flops forward a bit, when sleeping. I'm not sure how well it would be for a baby without head control.

I purchased this car seat for my car to transport on a daily basis the little boy I nanny for. He is three and says the seat is "squishy". Before this, I regularly took his mother's Britax from her car and put it in mine. My one complaint about the seat is the LATCH hooks. They are almost impossible to get loose enough to unhook. If you are planning to take the seat in and out of your car frequently, I would not recommend this one. However, if it is never going to leave the backseat of your car, this is a great alternative to some of the more expensive brands.

Bought this because the grandkids are coming to visit (age 2). Worked well. Easy to solidly fit into the back seat with the anchor system. Seemed comfortable- except for the piece that snaps across the chest which could be padded for more comfort according to our more discriminating passenger. Overall worked out fine, and should be useful for several years of visits. Much nicer than the basic Cosco model we'd rented before.

This is the only seat my son has ever used. From birth to the ripe old age of 16 months. He loves sitting in it and has no problem falling asleep on long drives. The recent recall involving this model was for seats from 2005 so it didn't effect us. The straps never twist and the seat is keeps it shape very well after being thrown in the washing machine. It is also one of the few seats we were even able to fit in our car rearfacing without moving the front seat completly forward. We're expecting another baby in January and will be getting this seat again.

We have this carseat in a different color for our daughter. She has been in it since she was 6 months old and is now 2 1/2. It is lightweight, fairly easy to install, and she has always seemed comfortable in it. Works well in a small car (we had it in a chevy cavalier) - it was a bit cramped when she was rear facing, but when we turned her around it was no problem at all. We like it so much we just bought a second one for our 7 month old son.

I bought this carseat for our second car. My son is 19 months old. The head rest pushes his head forward....I had to glue it down so it wouldn't be too uncomfortable. The ease of highering the straps is very HARD, not easy at all, I actually had to use pliers to do it. I plain don't like it. The store I purchased it from would not exchange it for me. I had the Edie Bauer Summit, but, was in an accident so I had to throw it out......THAT WAS A VERY GOOD CARSEAT, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SUMMIT.

This seat cannot be installed rear facing correctly. Our daughter nearly tipped over in it. Also the head rest pushes her head into her chest and the shoulder pads are so bulkly that no matter how tightly you adjust the shoulder straps she can still wiggle out of the seat. She is so uncomfortable that she cries every time we go somewhere. We have had to put her back into her carrier seat since we have returned this one and are now shopping for something else. This seat is dangerous...DO NOT BUY!
