I am not one to write reviews, but the other two for this seat might scare people off, and they are vague or down right wrong (Consumer Reports withdrew it's statement about the infant seats after they realized they did the testing wrong-I just checked their website and it says "
Mr. Digges and Mr. O'Neill concluded that Consumer Reports had set out to raise the bar for car-seat safety but stumbled instead into methodological errors with misleading results.
The misjudgments that the two identified stemmed mainly from CR's decision to develop and run its side-impact tests without extensive consultation with other experts. CR took that step based in part on its decades-long experience with front-impact simulations and because of the organization's long-standing policy of limiting contact with government and industry to avoid compromising the independence of its judgment. They said that this decision ultimately proved to be a mistake.
The May 2007 article states that Consumer Reports does not plan any further side-impact simulations until there is greater consensus among experts about how to do them. CR also noted that government regulators had disputed the way in which one seat had been evaluated for compliance with the current government standard. That disagreement led to Consumer Reports' withdrawal of its recall request and the earlier Not Acceptable rating")
So for a real review of this seat (without using it for a baby yet as I'm still pregnant):
Pro's
It's not to heavy but it has a nice talk seat back so it should last a baby until 22lbs. unlike my snugride that my daughter outgrew at barely 5 months due to length.
The harness adjuster is in the front. (again-not so for my snugride)
The harness straps seems nicer than most-thick like my Britax seats
The base has a built in lock off clip and installed really easy in my lap only lap. It would have installed with a lap/shoulder lap ok if I removed the plastic piece from my seatbelt that keeps the buckles from sliding all the way to the floor-but since I'm not sure where it will go in my car, I haven't done that yet (and yes it is ok to remove those for carseat installation). Also the anti-rebound feature of the base is great. Once you get the base installed it doesn't move at all, and you can't lift the back of the base toward the seat back like other bases.
It installs really easy without the base and the base is not required (some seats are)
The adjustable headrest is a breeze to use and goes from about 6" to 11" with 7 different positions. You will never have to re-thread the straps unless you have to take the cover off.
Very nice padding and looks like awesome side protection for the head. (reminds my of my Britax Boulevard) The lap padding comes off separately in case of diaper accidents.
The seat is good for 7 years, more than the 6 years most companies allow.
Great looking seat!
Nice and narrow-good for a 3 across situation
Some neutrals/con's
One one I received was manufactured in 01/06 (brought 5/07)
The buckle is a puzzle and is made of plastic. I think it might be hard to do with a wiggly baby.
The handle has to be up in the vehicle-so I can see a lot of people telling me that it should be down. And it is harder to put down then other seats I've used.
The harness adjust is a little stiff to use, I'm hoping it will become smoother with use. You have to push on the cover to loosen the harness, so I lifted the cover to look at the button and now I can get it much easier now that I know exactly where to push.
Overall, I think this is a great seat. For this price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
Good Seat for the money.

We bought this seat because it was a bit lighter than some of the others we looked at and the stroller that it clips into was very compact/lightweight.
Pros: Nice recline. Easy to install. Removable covers and it washes up really nicely.
Cons: Strap adjustment is tight and hard to pull (has eased up a bit with use). Handle sometimes sticks and is difficult to put down. Seems to bite into my sons legs a bit (but he's a big baby).
Overall, not too shabby.
Great Seat!

This is my second Combi carseat and I love the brand. The one thing that I think people glaze over in reviews is the one pull release. All you have to do is pull one side and both sides release the same amount of belt. I didn't realize what a luxury this was until I bought a different brand of convertible carseat for my older daughter and I have to readjust the straps everytime I put my daughter in it. I have also discussed this with my friends who have other brands and they have told me how much they hate it and it kept me from buying a different brand this time around.
This carseat is a bit heavier than the Graco or Evenflo models, all that has meant to me is that I don't lug my child for long distances in it and use a stroller. The buckle is a little bit more complicated than the Graco, but as soon as you get the hang of it it doesn't take long.
I love this brand and will never purchase another again!
Apparently safe but disappointing

New moms pick out dozens of products to not only keep their infants safe but to help out with the whirlwind of childcare. The car seat, being legally required and essential, is one of the most important. That's why this product is so disappointing. It's heavy and difficult to operate. In the flurry of moments before leaving, parents do not want to spend 5 extra minutes on stuck buttons or complicated straps. Simplicity here is traded for high maintenance gadgetry and the result is an inflexible, hard to manage product that adds to rather than relives the stress of parenting.
