Description:
Belt positioning boosters are the biggest advancement in child safety in years. Automobile seat belts are designed for children above 57" tall. Safety advocates suggest that your child ride in a booster as long as possible. Most states have enacted legislation to keep children in boosters until ages 6 to 8 years. But what it takes to keep an older child content is not the same as a baby. This is an age when children are busy in activities and moms, dads, and grandparents are all involved in dropping off and picking up the children. Our Folding Booster Car Seat provides the answers for both you and your child. The patented folding feature takes moving the seat from car to car and storing on the trunk to a new level of convenience. It's not just for travel, it is a seat that fits your daily lifestyle. Deluxe padding will keep your child comfortable and content, even on the long trips. Rotating armrests make installation easier because the belt path is clear. The rotating armrests also improve the ease of use because children have an easier time crawling in and out by themselves. The back support stays fully enclosed as the height is adjusted. This means side support and protection in every position. The headrest has a full EPS foam (bicycle helmet foam) liner to absorb energy in an impact. The six-position height adjust will grow with your child, and is designed for children 3 to 10 years old, 30 to 100 lbs, and 38" to 57" tall. It feels very substantial compared to others but weighs less than 10 lbs! Wide seat really fits the larger, older children.Get more product details from Amazon

We bought this seat for my daughter when she turned five and we both love it! It is comfortable for her and I feel confident in knowing how secure and safe she is in it. We travel often and I love that it folds in half and can be stored on the plane with no problems. Great product! We will buy another one when the time is right for my son.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety published a report recently, in which the Compass B505 and Compass B510 booster seats are NOT recommended. I have the Gold Dust B505. I was researching other seats, because after installing the Compass B505 in my van, it just never seemed to fit properly, as far as the belt placement. While researching other brands, I stumbled across a recent report that lists the two Compass models as ones to avoid. Just Google "The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety booster seat report" to read the article for yourself. While the seats are nice and cushioned and look nice, I won't risk my child's safety.

We bought a Compass B505 based on positive reviews and the fact that it folds for travel. When we started using it in my husband's car, the straps never seemed to fit as well as the Evenflo booster that we purchased for my car. Then I saw a report that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety sponsored a study conducted by the University of Michigan that found several boosters, including Compass B505, had poor seat belt positioning and this could cause injury in a crash.
br /I called Learning Curve customer support and asked about it and was read a statement that said that Compass boosters have a 5-star crash test rating. When I asked where I could see such crash test ratings, I was told that there were no such results available to the public. Infact, NHTSA has never crash tested the B505 (it has tested the B510). So the statement was misleading. I'll be buying another booster!

It took no time to figure out how to use this seat. My daughter meets the minimum height and weight requirements, so I am moving here from a 5 point harness Britax to this booster in a second car. The seat is easy to install and remove, and also easy to stowe in the trunk when not in use by simply pulling the rear latch and folding. I can definately see using it for travel on planes, as it is easy to fold and light enough to carry. My daughter also likes the fold out cup holders for water. They are sturdy and easy to tuck back in when storing or carrying the seat. Highly recommended.
Secure seat and good for travel too!

My daughter is only 2 and a half, but she is off the charts for height and weight. As such, she simply didn't fit into her regular car seat anymore. To be honest, I was a little apprehensive about switching her from a car seat to a booster seat before the age of 3, but she was VERY uncomfortable in her car seat and would cry whenever we stuffed her into it. So, I bit the proverbial bullet and bought this booster. One feature that really interested me in this seat was portability. My father lives out of state so we will be doing a lot of traveling. I wanted a seat we could easily check on an airplane. This seat fit the bill. The seat is not as compact as I would have hoped, but it is no bigger than a small piece of luggage and could be easily carried onto a plane. However, I think this seat will be a little cumbersome to "carry on" if you are trying to manage getting onto a plane with a 2 and a half year old and everything else that comes with her (coloring books, portable dvd player, snacks etc); so I will more than likely check this seat. As such I am going to order the carrying case (I saw in some reviews that some folks checked the seat in the box it came in, but I find that to be too cumbersome). As for the seat itself, my daughter LOVES it. She is very comfortable in it and calls it her "big girl seat" -- no more fights getting her into her seat!!! I LOVE that it has a compartment to store the owner's manual in so that you always have it at hand. Also, even though it is not a five point harness, I feel my daughter is very secure in it. I love that it has the wrap around headrest, and the height couldn't be easier to adjust -- we figured it out before we even opened the manual. When you thread the shoulder belt through the "catch" under the headrest, it positions the belt correctly over your child's body so that he/she is not choked by it. (Make sure you pull the belt all the way out and then let it slowly wind itself back until it is taut over your child -- this will lock the belt in place). I would have given this seat five stars if it folded down a little more compactly and/or came with the carrying case (it has a built in handle, but if you are going to check this on a plane, I would feel more comfortable having it in something to protect the fabric from ripping, staining etc). Overall this is a GREAT product which is comparably priced to other full booster seats which don't fold. I have recommended this to my friends.

We've owned the Compass booster car seat for 3+ years now, and it's still looking great despite daily use and abuse. I researched the safest carseats when changing my eldest son from a 5 point harness up to a booster. This Compass had the best safety rating. The seat fabric is easy to remove and wash. It has adjusted easily as my son has grown - he's now 53" tall (4'5") and 65lbs and its still good for him. We've done a a few long car trips (up to 1000 miles) and he's never complained about his seat. From practical point of view, the side cup holders slide back into the seat if you are tight on space, and the arm rests lift up for ease of entry. It folds in half neatly and is easy to transfer from car to car, and it's travelled safely as checked luggage on flights too. I will be buying another one once my 2nd child moves up from his Britax Marathon.
Great Product.

This product is great. I like that this seat is not at all flimsy as are some of the others on the market. I was a little surprised that I had to order it online. For such a well-made, sturdy, adjustable, foldable booster seat with moveable arm rests I would have thought it would be in stores. Especially, ones that have it in their online stores like Target, Babies R Us, etc.

br /Anyway, great seat. My daughter Loves it. My niece also has the pistachio green one from Target. We all love this seat!!

I recently purchased 2 of these seats for my children ages 6 and 4 for a second vehicle. The seats are very well made, with quality materials. We took the seats on the their first plane trip, and they were very easy to fold. I also purchased the carrying case. This made it very easy for travel. I really like the folding feature, and my kids like armrests and cup holders. I would definetly purchase again.

I got this seat for my grandson's first visit to Grandma's. He was right at the bottom height weight limit and it worked great. He figured out that he could pop the seat belt and be free and he really felt like a king on his throne in this seat, especially with the two cup holders. We had to try hard to figure out how to get the seat belt to tuck around the side so it was across the chest properly. He traveled well in this seat. It was a great purchase.Compass Adjustable Folding Booster

I have to admit I did choose this seat because of the color initially- I did check it out to make sure it was a safe one too of course...but it is better than just the great color( goes perfect with the interior of a 2008 Ford F150 Harley Davidson edition!) I also plan on buying the travel bag for this seat- pefect for airplane travel! It folds up easily and to a manageable size. My daughter loves the dual cupholders, and my husband loves that we didn't put a pink seat in his truck! ;-)

I did a lot of research on the best booster out there. I tried to like the Britax but the head wings were not for my daughter, she likes to be able to see outside and I know her safety should be more important but on long car trips there must be a happy child in the car. So we tried out the Compass and we could not be happier. It was rated by Consumer Reports as excellent, the same as the Britax. It has the side impact material. It fits her frame well, she is petite and tall. She is 4 so she is old enough for a booster and understands all the rules that go with it. She is very comfortable in it and she loves the bells and whistles. The cupholders and the arm rests. It is also so easy to fold and take into another car or leave with a friend, no more big bulky chair to drag around. I highly recommend it!

This booster is great and my daughter loves it. She is very petite and with the adjustable head rest we were able to get the shoulder belt to sit correctly on her and not rub her neck like other boosters. The only thing I don't like- but I think almost all boosters are like this- is that it doesn't tether into the child safety latches. When my daughter is not in the car I always rebuckle the seat in because I'm afraid if I ever got in an accident the seat would go flying and injure me or my other passengers.
