Description:

Belt positioning boosters are the biggest advancement in child safety in years. Automobile seat belts are designed for children above 57" tall. The First Years Compass B510 Booster Car Seat has a five-star Ease of Use rating. The First Years Compass B510 Booster Car Seat was one of only two high back booster seats to receive five stars and the only seat to receive five stars in every category to date under the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) new Ease of Use rating system. Safety advocates suggest that your child ride in a booster as long as possible. Most states have enacted legislation to keep children in boosters until ages 6 to 8 years. p But, what it takes to keep an older child content is not the same as baby. This is an age when children are busy in activities and moms, dads and grandparents are all involved in dropping off and picking up the children. The Compass Deluxe Folding Booster Car Seat provides the answers for both you and your child. p The patented folding features take moving the seat from car to car and storing in the trunk to a new level of convenience. It's not just for travel, it is a seat that fits your daily lifestyle. Deluxe padding will keep your child comfortable and content, even on long trips. Rotating arm rests make installation easier because the belt path is clear. The rotating arm rests also improve the ease of use because children have an easier time crawling in and out by themselves. p The back support stays fully enclosed as the height is adjusted. This means side support and protection in every position. The head rest has a full EPS foam (bicycle helmet foam) liner to absorb energy in an impact. And the deeper side wings provide additional protection for your child. The six-position height adjust will grow with your child. p bFeatures:/b ulliNarrow bottom rails allow the seat to fit into sculpted bucket seats even in small cars/li liTaller, higher belt path (2") to

I researched every booster and every saefty website before I purchased this booster. Everything I looked at was confusing ie...LATCH vs seatbelt etc. My son is 46lbs and about 49 in tall and just turned 5. I wanted a safe seat I feel the Compass seat provides safety as well as comfort. The seat, however, is very wide. We have a Chevy Tahoe it fills up the entire seat. It would not be a good seat for a small car. Overall I am happy with the purchase and quality and price. My son loves the Camo..it is very cool.

My son love this booster.

This is a great looking booster, I have no trouble getting him to use it anywhere I go. It has two cup holders that help him snack comfortable and neat which makes mommy happy. However it sits straight up compared to his car seat so when I'm taking a long trip and he decides to take a nap his head constantly falls to his chest. I dont know if all boosters in general sit up this straight. I am probably going to buy him a nap cap to take care of the problem. He rarely naps in the truck so it not too much of a big deal for me.

i was looking for a booster seat for my four year old son and we wanted something with a boyish look. i went on consumer reports and the compass deluxe folding, adjusting booster seat came up as one of the top rated seats. it was a little more pricey than the one that we had been using but, i did not mind, this was a safety seat for my son and that is important. we got the seat very quickly and began using it immediately. the seat is comfy and the height adjusts easily and the fold-out cupholders are great. there is one problem that we have personally with the seat, no recline. our other seat is a graco booster and the bottom detaches from the back so that you can use it as a true booster or as a convertible booster with a back and that feature allows the seat to lay back with your actual vehicle seat when you recline it. this makes for easier sleeping in the car and your childs head is not falling all over the place if he decides to take a nap. we just lean it back a little, so as not to be unsafe, and it works great. the compass seat does not come apart and therefore if you lean your vehicle seat back just a little, the whole booster seat tips back. my little boy falls fast asleep in the car and his little head is falling all over from side to side and forward all the time. if this is not important to you, then this is a great seat and it comes in a lot of different colors and patterns.

My 3 1/2 year old son is tall for his age and was uncomfortable in his car seat. We brought him to the local store to purchase a booster, but he did not like the ones they had in stock (they were "boring" looking). We purchased this one on line and he LOVED the camo cover and cup holders. He has no problem getting into and out of the seat himself in our Ford Explorer. The seat is also more comfortable than the ones I could buy in the store (there seems to be more padding). I love that it is very easy to take in and out of my car when needed and that it folds so easily. We are very happy with this booster.

We purchased this seat a little over a year ago. I did loads of research online at stores as well as multiple car seat safety websites. About the only thing safer was a Britax Regent (at the time), and that's not really a booster, but a 5 pt harness for larger kids.
br /
br /PROS:
br /
br /1. Folds up for travel. We've only had to do this once but it sure was nice to be able to fold it up for protection before slipping into one of those airline bags.
br /
br /2. Adjustable in height. This seat will fit most kids till their tall enough to go without a booster. This is good because it allows you to give your kid a semi-custom fit on their booster seat.
br /
br /3. VERY comfortable. My son prefers this seat over our back-up booster in the other car.
br /
br /4. Fabric cleans up well. I've pulled off the fabric and washed it in my machine (which has a hand wash cycle. Don't do this unless you have a hand wash cycle!) HANG TO DRY. Comes out beautiful.
br /
br /5. The arm rests are a bit short, but my kid doesn't seem to complain. They lift up out of the way easily, and the cup holders are permanently attached and slide in and out of the way very easily.
br /
br /CONS:
br /
br /1. It's a little on the wide side. There are worse things for sure, but we usually have to go hunting for the seat belt.
br /
br /2. At some point this will be an issue, but right now it's not while my kids are in the 4' range.....but once they get a little taller and we adjust the seat up higher, it'll get increasingly difficult to see out the back window of my car. I suspect this would be true of any tall booster seat. HOWEVER, my children's safety is at issue, so if I lose a little visibility out of the back, I'll make up for it with my outside mirrors.
br /
br /Overall I highly recommend this seat for either a main or back up booster seat. We're actually going to buy another one for my now 5 year old daughter. This is just a great seat!!

I've had this booster seat for about a month now and my 4 year old son just loves it. He says it's comfortable and he loves the cup holders. He feels like a big boy now that he is using the seat belt. I use it in my car (Nissan Altima) which has leather seats and it fits really well. I was afraid it was going to slide around a lot on the seats, but it only moves a little. It's pretty lightweight so it moves easily from car to car. I especially love the fact that it folds, it take up less truck space. I would definately recommend this booster seat!!

So cool!

This seat rocks!!! My son loves the camo and it's so easy to use and travel with. We fly a lot and this seat is the easiest i have ever traveled with!! It's so simple that my son (5) knows how it works and can do it by himself (with parents helping just a little bit). My my duaghter is old enough for a booster this is the one I'm buying (in a different color of course).

Well we have had this seat for 6 months now and it is really sweet. The nicest made car seat of all we have utilized as the kids are growing. Its the most comfortable and highest quality of all I looked at. I mean the only other one with similar ratings is three times the price. Like other reviews note the seat does not recline so sleeping the kids need a side pillow or their head falls forward. But the seat is really easy to adjust to the perfect height. It switches to another car in seconds. The foldable arms, cup and snack holders are sturdy. The fabric and padding and plastic are really well made compared to lesser models. I would recommend it highly.

Like many buyers out there I was looking for CAMO First. After receiving the seat from compass I was very pleasantly suprised at the quality of the seat. It has much more padding and support and when the boys fall asleep in them they can rest their head against the larger padded sides. Other seats that we have do not have the padding or comfort that these seats provide. Also, the way the strap is threaded through the seat it hits the boys in a comfortable position, they love them and so does Dad.

I finally sold my Britax Marathons and Roundabouts as my almost 4 and 5 year olds had trouble getting into them. These boosters are highly rated by the NHT and are collapsible, lightweight, and comfortable. Recommended.

Ever since my daughter graduated to a booster seat, my now 4-year old son has been campaigning for a "grown-up" seat of his own. She has an animal print Britax Star Riser, which has been fine but uncomfortable for long journeys. Her head seems to flop all over and she complains of a bad backache after 45 minutes or so.
br /
br /When it came time to retire the mammoth Britax Marathon that he was in, we looked high and low for a good booster. At the recommendation of a friends, we considered the Compass. While not MY first choice in patterns, my son loved the camo (very manly), and it seemed much more comfortable than the Britax with the same safety features. It is light and easy to take out and put in the car. My son has no problem falling asleep in the seat, which will improve everyone's mood during long car trips.
br /
br /All in all, excellent value for the price.

This is an excellent booster seat. I bought this for my son who is now 4 years old and 49 pounds. Finding a seat for him was hard because of his size. He is a big, tall kid. He is very comfortable in this seat. It is also great because we share it with my mom and my nanny. It is easy to move from car to car and it is easy to store. If you plan to travel, I would highly recommend getting the bag to go with it.

Love it!

I did some extensive research before purchasing a booster seat for my 4 year old. I just received this model and my son just absolutely loves it. He loves the comfort and the design and I just love how safe and secure he looks in it. It's very comfortable and the cupholders are perfect for his size. I'm so happy I made this purchase and recommend it highly!

I do not know much about these and cannot really compare..too much
br /But the quality looks good and the Kids Like the 2 that I bought (the
br /510). We had the seat only one for a while but the high back seems better for trips over 1 hour...
