Description:

Belt positioning boosters are the biggest advancement in child safety in years. Automobile seat belts are designed for children above 57" tall. The First Years Compass B510 Booster Car Seat has a five-star Ease of Use rating. The First Years Compass B510 Booster Car Seat was one of only two high back booster seats to receive five stars and the only seat to receive five stars in every category to date under the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) new Ease of Use rating system. Safety advocates suggest that your child ride in a booster as long as possible. Most states have enacted legislation to keep children in boosters until ages 6 to 8 years. p But, what it takes to keep an older child content is not the same as baby. This is an age when children are busy in activities and moms, dads and grandparents are all involved in dropping off and picking up the children. The Compass Deluxe Folding Booster Car Seat provides the answers for both you and your child. p The patented folding features take moving the seat from car to car and storing in the trunk to a new level of convenience. It's not just for travel, it is a seat that fits your daily lifestyle. Deluxe padding will keep your child comfortable and content, even on long trips. Rotating arm rests make installation easier because the belt path is clear. The rotating arm rests also improve the ease of use because children have an easier time crawling in and out by themselves. p The back support stays fully enclosed as the height is adjusted. This means side support and protection in every position. The head rest has a full EPS foam (bicycle helmet foam) liner to absorb energy in an impact. And the deeper side wings provide additional protection for your child. The six-position height adjust will grow with your child. p bFeatures:/b ulliNarrow bottom rails allow the seat to fit into sculpted bucket seats even in small cars/li liTaller, higher belt path (2") to

Nice carseat, but......

I recently bought 2 of these carseats, but was surprised to see that the back does NOT disconnect from the seat. I purchased these because I thought the back would be a nice option for long trips, but could detach the back and use just the base for everyday. Not so. It doesn't disconnect (like the Graco brand).
br /Has a nice option to raise lower the back to adjust the the height of your child. Nice material, moving armrests, 2 drink holders, etc.
br /Just didn't work for me.

We ordered one first to see how it is. (The only drawback to these seats is that it's only available online). But based on reviews and customers who had compared the particular seats that we were considering AND this one, we thought we'll try it. It seemed good so now we have two. We've only had them for a month but we like them so far. It's light, comfortable for the kids(even when sleeping), and the adjustable headrest for taller chlidren is great. It has the fabric and cushioning even when you extend the headrest.

LOVE THIS BOOSTER - and I have tried a lot!

Wow! This booster really had it all! I picked ours up locally at Target, which was more expensive than Amazon, but Amazon did not have them when we were looking. The folding dfeature caught my eye, as eveytime we fly, my car seats get completely messed up. Problem solved! Now the car seat is super comfortable, 2 cup holders, and is a great size! I can't say anything bad about it. Love it! Also the arms rests are really nice, and keep them in the seat, and not slouched to the side when they fall asleep in the car

I would highly recommend this product to keeping your little one safe.
br /My grandson loves his booster seat. Easy to use, good quality material on the seat, folds very easy and portable. I purchased two of these seats, one for my car and one for my daughter's car.

I bought this for my daughter and it is such a great seat. Comfortable, safe and easy to use. We love the cup holders and adjustable back. Would buy again and recommend.

Good booster, looks better in real life than in the photo

I bought this booster as well as the Combi Kobuk since we have two cars. I didn't see either of them in-person, but chose them based on reviews from Amazon, the Toddler Bargains book and a friend's recommendation. So... I bought the Compass because of its good reviews, but was not expecting much in terms of looks. I was pleasantly surprised. The website photo of the seat does it no justice. My son loves it too --- just little things like the movable arm rests and the retracting cup holders. I like the Kobuk too, but it is falls in the opposite camp i.e. great-looking website photo, but not as attractive in real life.

Awesome Booster!

My daughter used this seat for the first time today and she loved it. I loved that she looked very comfortable and safe and when she fell asleep, her head rested on the side without hanging down like it use to. She felt very grown up and she has always stayed still in the car so I haven't had a problem like the 1st reviewer. Please read the comments attached to the first review which are very informative. I did alot of research before I purchased this seat and I'm so glad I bought it. I also like that the fabric is easy to remove and wash, my daughter gets car sick sometimes and washing the fabric to her 5-point harness carseat was like crule unusual punishment. The fact that it folds is just gravy. I bought the bag for this carseat so I can check it on the plane without a problem. Love it, Love it, Love it!!!

I bought two seats like this for my two kids (at the time ages were 3.5 and 5) and I love them. What's great is that the base for these is a bit smaller than typical booster seats, which has made them easier to strap into the 3rd row of my Honda Pilot, which does not accomodate regular booster seats nearly as well. These are very comfy and the covers remove easily to throw into the washer and dryer for cleaning. I also love that I can easily fold them in half and put them behind the back seats of my Pilot for storage when I don't need them. I think my only complaint would be I'd love for the cupholders to remove so I could easily clean them. Maybe they do...but I've not figured out how yet!

We bought the Compass deluxe folding booster seat about 2 months ago and so far we love it. I would have loved to find a booster that still has the 5 point harness, but the ones we have tried have not worked in our car (older model Saturn sedan). So we got this one based on safety reviews and the similarity in style to another booster we have that fits well in our car. With this seat, my 4.5 year old son can buckle himself in and release by himself (which makes him feel very important). The seat fits very well in our car plus it is very easy to move from one car to another. It seems comfortable and sturdy and easy to adust and install. Granted I have only had it a few months, but so far we like it a lot.

Great booster seat. My son loves it. We plan on buying another one for our daughter who is very jealous after seeing this one. Easy to use. There is a lot of padding and when my son fell asleep in the car today his head did not flop forward, he seemed very comfortable. The shoulder strap fits great and it is in the right place with the guide so it can not slip off.

My wife and I did an extinsive research about best boosters that fullfill these criteria: 1) Adaptability (to change from a booster with back support to just a seat booster as our boy grows); 2) Quality Cover (fabric should not be polyster); 3) Easiness to use and store; and 4) Price.
br /
br /Bottom line: this booster has exceptionally fullfilled all these criteria plus my 3 year old son just loves it and when he falls asleep, he can rest his head on either supportive sides which is great.

This seat is attractive, lightweight, and easy to handle; overall we like it and feel it is a good value. The placement of the shoulder belt was a bit confusing at first because we didn't realize the head piece and back piece were separate (which allows the belt to slip between the two near the top of the seat.) Also, since we were used to a harness system, we simply didn't think about the fact that we'd lose the use of one adult seat in the back (this seat cannot be situated in the center of the back seat because it uses a shoulder belt.) Lastly, when our son falls asleep in it, his head has a tendency to bounce and his body slouches; perhaps this is because he just meets the minimum height/weight requirements.

I researched boosters for my daughter, starting 6 months before her 3rd birthday. This booster appeared to be the absolute best, both safety wise and, fortunately, price wise. We presented this booster to my daughter on her birthday and we have never looked back.
br /
br /It took about 2 days to convince her that the seat belt wasn't a toy, but after that, no problems have arisen. She can nap in it just as easily as her carseat before and she's learning about seatbelt safety. The cup holders are Wonderful and make her feel just like a big girl.
br /
br /I haven't had to clean it yet, so I'm not sure about that feature, but moving it from car to car (to truck to SUV) is a Breeze! So much easier than our carseat. We've even flown with it recently (the travel bag was so handy and easy to use) and had no problems carrying it in the airport and gate-checking it.
br /
br /I highly recommend this booster to anyone who asks me!

Love the Seat! The vendor is another story...

I ordered two of the Compass booster seats for my 3 year old daughter. We received this seat within one week, in original packaging and my daughter loves her "Big Girl" seat. I researched many boosters - this was affordable and comfortable.
br /
br /My other seat is another story... It arrived also within one week (ordered and received first week of Feb) not in the original box (in a B505 box which was TOO small) and the seat foam was cracked/falling apart and the seat frame was cracked. Working with the vendor/Happy Mothers has NOT been easy. Lots of phone tag, e-mails CONSTANT follow up on my part. Just today which is 3/9 - a month later... they assured me Compass was sending my new seat as of Tues 3/6. Yes, I got a person because finally they gave me a cell phone number to contact. Otherwise it's always a voice mail!
br /
br /I'm used to customer service like Babies R Us or Pottery Barn Kids - where things are taken care of within one week and I'm confident things will be taken care of.
br /
br /The "Price was Right", but the vendor/Happy Mothers is a mess!

I LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SEAT, EXCEPT THAT I FIND THE SHOULDER STRAP DOESNT GO SQUARELY ON MY SON'S SHOULDER BLADE, IT SOMETIMES GOES DOWN BY HIS UPPER ARM BECAUSE HE LEANS INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE CAR TO SEE OUT THE FRONT WINDOW. ALSO, IS THE BACK SEAT BELT SUPPOSED TO CLICK LOCK WHEN YOU PUT THE CHILD IN, OR ONLY WHEN GOD FORBID YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR STOP SHORT? OTHER THAN THAT, I REALLY LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, ITS QUITE LIGHT, VERY COMFORTABLE SEEMS PRETTY SAFE.
