br /2) It has an energy absorbing headrest that also supports my child's head when sleeping.
br /3) It's very comfortable. It has thick padding that is easy to clean and removes for machine washing.
br /4) It has flip-up armrests that make buckling up easier and also a more comfortable ride for my child.
br /5) It has two flip-out cup holders to hold sippy cups and special toys (in my opinion they may be too small for some sippy cups, but they fit ours just fine). Also the cup holders are angled so once the booster is in the vehicle's seat they are level with the ground.
br /6) The seat adjusts in height to accommodate a child from 38" tall to 57" tall. The seat back raises from the base and always provides full back support. It's very easy to raise...using both hands, push in on yellow tabs-one on each side-at the same time and lift up the back. (I compared this seat to the latest evenflo, britax, graco and cosco booster seats. The evenflo booster's seat back also raises at the base but in my opinion does not provide sufficient back support. The britax, graco and cosco booster seats only allow the head rest to raise leaving a gap where the shoulders need to rest. I did look at the Recaro online and decided it did not have everything I wanted and was too expensive.)
br /7) This booster seat folds for storage and has a built in carry handle. This makes it so much easier to carry; not as bulky. The back does NOT detach from the base. (I did not want a backless booster, therefore this is not a problem for me.) The box that the booster seat is shipped in has a handle and two locks. It was designed for transporting the booster by air as you cannot use it in an airplane since you must use a lap and shoulder belt.
br /8)The Compass B500 can be used for children weighing 30 to 100 pounds.
br /9)It is quite roomy but doesn't take up more space than a convertable car seat. It features a "seat-saver base" which won't damage your vehicle's seats.
br /10) If your booster seat is involved in an auto accident, Compass will replace it FREE once you have provided them the proper documents. This is explained in the manual.
br /I am very pleased with this seat. I highly recommend this seat. I bought my seat from Amazon.com and thanks to the baby sale, paid $.02 for shipping. I live in Guam and my seat arrived in only 5 days! Thanks Amazon.com for treating Guam as it should be treated...after all, we are a United States Territory. My 3 1/2 year old son loves his seat...he's always telling someone about his "new booster seat" and all it's cool features. Thank you, Compass, for a great product!

We have this booster and it's wonderful. The seat is very thick and soft and my son looks very comfortable. The headrest holds his head just right when he sleeps. He likes the cupholders. It folds up so I can get it into the back seat of the minivan. The seat adjusts to his height.
br /
br /One thing that's not mentioned which I thought was a positive safety feature is there's a reflective cording around the seat and it shines brightly in dim light. Whenever I go into the garage in the dark, the only thing I can see is the booster seat. It's so clearly marked. I was amazed the first time I noticed it. In an accident at night, a rescuer could more easily locate my child.

I recently had to purchase a booster seat for my 3 1/2 year old daughter who has recently outgrown her convertible car seat. When I went out searching for booster seats, I thought that they were mostly all the same. The first booster I purchased was by Evenflo and cost about a third of the B500. It worked great, but it was not well padded and I later found out that it did not contain any EPS foam. So back to the store it went. The second time around I compared the Britax Parkway with the Graco Turbo Booster with the extra cushioning. My daughter sat in the Britax and immediately complained about the head wings, so the Turbo Booster came home with us. After using the seat for a couple of days I realized how much I disliked the armrests. They did not pivot and my daughter had a hard time buckling her seat belt without it twisting or she would end up buckling it above the arm rest, which was a big no-no. So back it went. I went for the third and last time and purchased the B500. I love it. It contains the EPS foam, the pivoting arm rests and the best cushioning available. It actually fits the best out of all three in the 3rd row of my Honda Odyssey. Yes it is one of the more expensive models available, but it is worth it.
I believe that you have to try each product out in each of your vehicles and with your child to make sure it is a perfect fit all around.

We bought a Compass Booster about a year a ago - we travel a lot and liked the idea that it folded for easy transport. My son has loved this seat - it's cushioning especially. Recently we were in a very serious car accident - in a brand new, large SUV that will be a total loss, such was the severity of the collision. After impact our first thought was for the safety of our son - we turned around and found him to be safe and sound - upright in the seat - which had hardly even moved. The paramedics were amazed he had no injuries after such a serious collision - and attributed a lot of that to his car seat construction. Needless to say we'll be replacing his Compass booster with a brand new one (as you should always do after a car seat is involved in an accident) - and will feel assured that he will be as safe in this one - as the last.

I wanted to respond to a users comments regarding this booster seat not being FAA approved so that it does not discourage a potential buyer of this product. I went on the manufacturers website and the FAA does not approve of any belt positioning booster seats as airline setas only have a lap belt. Most boosters on the market are of the belt positioning type so this is not unique to the compass model. Also it is highly rated by consumer reports. It is great for carpooling after school too- easy to fold up and leave for the mom who is picking up your child after school! Highly reccomended.

I have been doing research on the different booster seats on the market and couldn't decide on one. It seemed that each booster I was looking at had one or more things that I didn't like. Some of the seats had flimsy backs that bent too easily when adjusting, some of them barely had any padding, and some of them didn't look as though they would hold the seatbelt securely at the shoulder. Then I found the Compass carseat and was immediately sold. The padding on this seat is thick and durable. The padding in my son's last seat flattened and the plastic on the back and seat was very uncomfortable for him. He LOVES how comfy this seat is. The back is adjustable and when adjusted to a higher setting you can feel it lock into place and the back does not start wobbling. It has a place to run the seat belt through that doesn't twist or pinch the belt. It makes it easy enough to fasten that my 4 year old does it. The arm rest are great in that they can be flipped up for buckling and put down when they want to use them. I also love the fact that this seat folds for travel. We returned on a trip before we bought the seat and from experience it is a pain to lug around a booster seat in an airport. I can't wait to travel again with this seat though. It'll be a breeze. Overall, this is an awesome seat. It is in my opinion one of the safest ones out there. Keep in mind I am a penny pincher, but it is worth EVERY penny!!!

My 5 year old daughter is thin for her age. She had problems with her bottom and legs falling asleep or going numb in her previous seat. She was always crying/complaining. Not anymore. The seat bottom is so nicely padded she hasn't complained once not even once on long car trips. Manufacturers always make car seat padded on the sides and are skipping one of the most important aspects - cushioning your bottom! I should also mention I am a car seat technician and I have done a lot of clinics the past four years. I have seen a lot of seats and none so far compare. I just consider the folding feature an added bonus. It has been great to travel with and send through luggage on an airplane. If your child complains about being uncomfortable then consider this seat the solution to your problem!

My 3 year old loves this seat. It is very sturdy, well padded and comfortable. It sits at just the right angle so they are not too upright or reclined. The entire back of the seat goes up when you raise it instead of just the head rest. a big plus!! The cup holders are deep and sit at just the rignt angle. also has easy flip up armrests. And it folds up compactly for storage!!! love it!!
I've done considerable research online in-store.

Unfortunately, my big 2 3/4 year old recently needed to give up his Britax Marathon (in my opinion, the absolute BEST booster seat out there for up to 65lbs.) to his little sister. I wanted something that my son would get the most use/time out of. Due to my past experience with Britax, I thought the Parkway would be the one...but the headrest seemed too confining and the height adjustment unsupportive. I also took a good look at the Graco TurboBooster which seemed poorly made fell apart. I was reluctant to even consider a FOLDABLE seat -- how sturdy could it be? VERY! Extremely well made - strong frame - height adjusts from the lumbar area - deep cup holders - strong, comfortably placed, retractable arm rests (not fabric covered, which I think is a plus) - 'head wings' comfortably supportive but not confining - easy to install buckle. Unlike other reviews, I find that the fixed seat (which is plenty wide deep for a big child) is adequately reclined for snoozing it provides more cushion than ANY other seat I looked at. Although I haven't had to launder it yet, the fabric seems very durable.

I do like this car seat. We just got it for our 4 year old. Easy to clean...easy to move between cars. We had the Britax Marathon so it feels a little big and not as secure as that but it is a booster. He likes it and is comfortable. I can definitly see it lasting a long time. I am getting ready to fly cross country and bring it in the bag with me as carry on luggage so we will see how that goes. Love that it folds. I do wish it had some sort of lock off sometimes he leans forward and it just doesn't seem secure but I have heard that with lots of boosters. I think it has great padding. So many like the Graco ones feel hard and uncomfortable. Some have commented on the fabric choices I guess I don't really care...it is neutral and easy to clean. Compared with other boosters I have used or looked at this one is great and I would recommend it. The other I considered were the britax but I travel by plane a lot and wanted something I could bring with me easily as carry on (so it doesn't get lost) I think that this booster will fit a kid for a longer period of time than the britax, it is roomy. I don't know that I would have wanted to use this when my son was three, I don't think he would have had the discipline to sit in it properly at that age so keeping in a car seat like the Marathon as long as possible is a good idea. But overall I am very happy with this booster seat and my son loves it. I love the arm rest that move up and down easy to buckle in and secure. The back also moves up and down and it is a full back so no moving up the back and having a narrow area around the head which I like. He has fallen asleep in it and been fine, just lean on the side wings. I have a subaru outback and the belt works perfectly across his shoulders. I have and would recommend this seat to others.

The Compass Booster Car Seat is outstanding! It is extremely light weight and easy to transport with its convenient carrying handle at the top of the seat and its ability to fold up. Kids love the dual cup holders, arm rests, and head/back rest that adjusts according to their height. The material is easy to clean and the cushion padding makes for a comfortable ride.

We started out with 2 options - Graco Turbo and this Compass Folding Booster. In the end, we decided to pay more and go with this Compass for the following reasons:
br /
br /1. Adjustable height for the headrest/shoulder belt - which allows my son to grow with the car seat. Even when he is older, he can still enjoy the head rest with the shoulder belt safely strapped over his chest.
br /
br /2. Foldable seat - When we need extra space in the back row, this seat can be folded and tucked away in the trunk. Also, we intend to travel with our 3 yr old son. I am fearful about the way the Graco Turbo Booster will be treated by the baggage handlers at the airport. At least the folding carseat can fit into an evenly shaped box and be checked in.
br /
br /The minus points of this car seat -
br /a. Its still a bit bulky in appearance compared to the Graco Turbo.
br /b. Even when folded, dont expect this seat to fit into your luggage. It will still need to be checked in as a separate piece of luggage. See the dimensions on the package.
br /c. Limited fabric choices - We got the Navy Blue which we think is pretty nice.
br /
br /The extra plus points -
br /a. the head rest is really cushy. My son loves it.
br /b. the seat is very roomy and plush.

We bought two of these for my daughter about a month ago. She loves them! I did a lot of research on booster seats before I purchased this one. The Britax seats had a slightly higher safety rating, but didn't seem to have all the features we were looking for. Comfort was a big issue for us. This seat has a lot of cushion, soft material, and the headrest works well as a pillow when needed. The arm rests also fold up and out of the way so that children can buckle themselves in. Some of the other recommendations that I read for this seat said this was a good seat for a larger child. I was worried this might be a problem for my daughter because she's so small, but she fits great.

Although this booster seat is a bit more expensive than some of the ones out there, I think it is well worth it. First, it has an adjustable back support that will grow with your child. Second, it has cushioning around the head, which will protect the child more in the event of a collision. Third, it has movable arm rests (up or down), making it easier for the child to get into the seat. Fourth, the seat is wider than some others out there, making it more comfortable for bigger children. Fifth, if you are taking it out of the vehicle frequently, it does fold down which makes carrying/storing it a lot easier.

I bought this booster because of the padding in the seat. We travel frequently long distances and wanted it to be comfortable. My daughter does say it is comfy and loves the cup holders for her drinks and toys. However, when she falls asleep her head flops around, as others had stated also. That is the only negative that I have found and do not think it will be a problem on a day to day basis. The easy fold feature is fantastic. The cup holders are great. The seat seems to be comfortable and the way the entire back is supported when it is expanded is excellent. The only drawback seems to be the lack of support for sleeping children and their little heads.

I know the Graco Turbo Booster is less expensive, but trust me when I say it is cheaper for a reason! When my now 5 year old moved into the booster seat world two years ago, the Turbo Booster was pretty much all that was out there. It was a great product, it served its purpose.
br /
br /Now my three year old has hit the booster age. I am a hands on kind of mom, so I went out and looked at all the boosters I could find. I played with the cup holders, I checked the padding, I even went so far as to install a few in my minivan (thank you for allowing me to do that, ToysRUs in Santa Cruz...) In the end, the Compass was the best. The padding was the softest and the seat was the safest. I like the armrests, they move up and down. The covers on the armrest of the Turbo slide off very easily. The cup holders weren't the best, but they were way better then the Parkway. This seat also folds flat, something I never use, but good if you need it.
br /
br /All in all, this seat was worth every penny. I actually went out and replaced my 5 year old's Turbo with a Compass!

When my second child outgrew her infant carrier and moved into our convertible car seat I needed to find another car seat for my 3 year old son. I was not sold on putting him in a booster seat since he was still so young. But after 3 months of searching online and going to stores I found the B500 Booster and loved everything about it. It is sturdy and when the back is raised as he gets taller it is completely padded all the way down. He is safe and secure and he loves that he has a big boy seat. He never complains about being in the car and falls asleep easily. It is very easy to move from car to car for going with grandparents and fits anywhere, even in the back seat of a Mustang. The armrests flip up so you can buckle with no problem. I love this booster and would recomend it to anyone whose child is ready to move out of the convertible car seat.

AFTER TONS OF RESEARCH, I RECENTLY REPLACED MY SON'S BOOSTER (THE EDDIE BAUER HIGH BACK) WITH THE COMPASS B500. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS SEAT! MY 3 1/2 YEAR OLD SON ACTUALLY WANTS TO KEEP IT IN THE HOUSE TO USE A CHAIR. THE HEADREST IS ADJUSTABLE AND IT KEEPS MY SON'S HEAD FROM FALLING OVER WHILE HE'S SLEEPING. IT ALSO HAS EPS FOAM. THE RETRACTABLE CUP HOLDERS ARE VERY HANDY, ALTHOUGH SOME OF HIS SIPPY CUPS DON'T FIT. THE ARMRESTS FOLD UP WHICH MAKES GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAR EASY. THE BEST PART IS THIS SEAT IS SAFE! CONSUMER REPORTS GAVE IT A HIGH RATING. IT ALSO FOLDS FOR TRAVEL, STORAGE, ETC. WHICH IS A NICE FEATURE THAT OTHER SEATS DON'T HAVE. IT ALSO COMES IN A REUSABLE BOX. THE ONLY THING COMPASS SHOULD DO IS OFFER MORE FABRIC COLORS, BUT I DO LIKE THE TRUE BLUE!

I tried an Evenflo and Graco seat before buying this one - not satisfied. Though it is a little more pricey, Consumer Reports gives it their highest rating. It's sooo padded, fits into the car better then others I tried (we have a Highlander), and when you raise the back to adjust for height there is no gap between the headrest and seat. It gives extra height by adjusting along the back, not the headrest. Super quality overall and very durable cover. I LOVE it! Not easy to find though. The Target I went to had only 1 and for once I saw no one had returned one! So I guess all people are happy!

The FAA does not approve ANY high back or positioning boosters due to there only being a lapbelt installed on the airplane. This is from the following web site: (...)
br /
br /CPSafety is a non-profit organization dedicated to safely transporting children.
br /
br /How do I know if I can use my particular child safety seat on an airplane?:
br /
br /- Check the label and/or carseat instructions. All seats must be approved for use on an airplane. The label will say something to the effect of "This seat is approved for use in motor vehicles and aircraft". In general, most infant seats, convertible seats and combination seats (high-back booster seats WITH an internal harness) are approved. What is not allowed: high-back belt-positioning boosters, low back boosters, shield boosters, travel vests and harnesses.

My son, Ben, is very tall for his age. At 4'2" he had out grown his last booster seat and I was having a hard time finding one that would not only fit him now but grow with him. The Compas booster has also raised him higher in his seat so it is easier for me to see him in the rearview mirror. This is a plus since he sits behind the driver. Ben is so happy with his new car seat that he has to show it to all his friends.

I held off on putting my very tall 4 year old into a booster because I didn't want to give up the 5 point harness. Finally, after much research we decided on the B500. I like the way it looks and the fit is great. My son fits snuggly into it and I feel he is safer or as safe as being in a 5 point harness. The only reason it didn't give it 5 stars is because his head bobs forward when he falls asleep (I don't think there's anyway around that) and I haven't had it long enough to try and remove and wash the cover.

We comparison-shopped for booster seats for a while, and found this to be greatly superior to anything we've used in the past. The price is higher than other booster-only seats (with no lateral head support), but the additional safety factor is well worth it. This is the second of this model that we bought, so now both active boys (4 and 7) are ensconced in them.

I would highly recommend this booster for parents as their children reach the proper height and weight. It's comfortable, light and easy to maneuver.
br /Being able to put the straps across the child at the proper height (adjustable by the way) is extremely important for their safety - and since you can use the straps in the car, they go right over bulky winter clothing without having to readjust like our old seat.
br /I would strongly encourage people to remember to belt the seat in even when no one is using it. It could become quite a projectile during an accident if not secured.

It is true that the child's head does sometimes fall forward however there are wings they can rest their head on. You don't want a booster to recline as this makes them not as safe. The recline feature on convertible seats are usually for use only in the rear facing position not to allow a child to sleep. THat said we just bought our second compass booster. My oldest loves his and we saw another for sale at a good deal so we bought it for my daughter. She can't wait. I love that they go down to 30 lbs as my kids grow out of their carseats height wise before weight. Its comfortable and easy to move in and out. He loves having the drink holders. If he wants to sleep we give him a pillow to help hold him up or he sleeps on the wings.

We recently decided to move our daughter up to a booster seat from a convertible Car seat. I looked around and this had the best reviews, I now know why! This is a great seat! My daughter loves it, she feels comfortable and loves the drink holders and arm rests. I really wish we had moved into this about three months earlier as we had made a couple of trips and rented cars each time. Car rental car seats are a rip off. They are convienent, but not comfortable, often hard to install (they never installed them for us)and in a matter of days you have paid . One time we packed up our seat and sent it as checked baggage, what a headach. This folds easily and sets up in a second. Would I buy it again, YES! in fact I am thinking of getting another for our other vehicle, so we don't have to swap it out.

I read good reviews written here for this booster seat, mostly about its features and safety, so went to a local store to check it out--then I came right back and purchased 2 of them on Amazon. I love the thick, firm padding on the seats. The previous seats we've had for the boys had similar features and were probably as safe as this one (after all, it's the seatbelts that save the kids in a crash, not the seat by itself), but the previous seats were too hard on their bottoms--I wouldn't want to be sitting on them, esp. on long trips. Among the row of seats on display at the store, this model had the best padding--better than those "designer" booster seats costing 2X or more. Go give a squish test youself...

I did a lot of online and store researching before I bought this seat for my 3 1/2 year old son. He loves the arm rests and the cup holder. It is light weight and so easy to move and fold when necessary. We liked it so much we are going to buy another one for when our 2 year son son is ready for that transition.

This seat is easy to adjust as he grows, easy to install and wrap the seatbelt through, sits firmly on contoured seats and is very easy to clean. I must admit that one of the features that helped me to decide on buying this seat was the interactive video that showed how it worked. br /1) It folds EASILY and is so light that it's great when we need to store it or switch it from car to car.
br /
br /2) It assembles and can be put into a car in seconds. The first time my husband put it into the car, he kept reading and re-reading the manual because it was SOOOOO EASY...he thought that he must have done something wrong. Nope...nothing wrong! That's how easy it is!!
br /
br /3) 2 cupholders. This is the feature my daughter likes most.
br /
br /4) It's easy to adjust the height of the back rest. When she grows, you just have to push the yellow buttons on the side of the headrest and the whole back elongates. It's really cool and simple.
br /
br /5) Its box is made so that you can use the box to check your car seat on an airplane trip. It has turn locks to help keep the box closed.
br /
br /All in all, a GREAT seat! Because it's so easy to move from car to car, we've only needed to have one for our 3 cars (mom, dad, grandparents). That makes the price even more economical. =]
This booster is well worth it

I wish I had seen this booster before going through what seemed to have been a dozen or so booster(of which are still in my garage). I have tried the Britax Husky felt that it was to large for my mini van not easy enough or fast enough to install in another vehicle this being in response to the other online reviewer. The only reason I didnt give this a 5 star rating is because of head falls foward when they fall asleep, but Ive found this happens with all boosters.

*actually the compass booster seat (B500) fits children 30-100 lbs who are 38" to 57" tall.... about 3-10 yrs old according to their website.

I use this booster for my 3 yr old dtr, and we love it! It is so light and easy to use, and folds up for easy traveling (along with the travel bag). It is sturdy and makes me feel she is very safe. I would highly recommend it.
Great booster seat, looks similar to others, but higher quality!

I decided to purchase this booster for my now 3 year old because it was the best I could find on the market.
PROS
- I thought that installing the seat next to my Roundabout was very easy, and took only a few minutes
- I love the flip out armrests because it makes it easier to buckle him in.
- I really like that the seat has an ample amount of padding and ESP foam (Foam not found in the simillar big kid (EvenFlow), more comfortable than the Turbo (Graco)
- I really like that when you adjust the seat for hieght, the back adjusts AS WELL as the head rest
- Provides ample support for a sleeping child
- I love the color, but even better is my son loves it more!
- The folding mechanism works wonders, although I am not too sure why anyone would use this feature other than for long time storage?
- The seat possitions him in a comfortable way, and although I thought the Turbo looked identical (for a cheaper price!) my toddler insisted that the Compass was the one he liked.
CONS
- The seat uses an actual seatbelt... I knew this way before my purchase, so its not much of a complaint rather than a set back, I was really hoping to have him in a five-point. I do think that the Compass would have a greater appeal if you could use either or.
- I really wasnt too fond that it was very tall, I mean I can imagine how horrible it would be with this seat installed front and center, I can see it in the corner of the rear-view mirror with it behind the passenger seat!
- I thought the cupholders were a tad bit flimsy, and that I should have never shown them to my son, as now one of them is jammed closed being that an action figure was shoved inside of it.
- It doesnt really recline all that much, but thats virtually the same with ANY booster seat (or rear-facing convertible)
All in all I think for the price, you cannot beat the quality. Its a fantastic booster seat indeed, and I hope my toddler outgrows it by the time my baby (5 months) is ready to use on himself!

I purchased this booster seat for my middle child. She is very tiny, so I didnt want a seat with no back. This seat is very padded, very comfortable, and she loves the arm rests that flip up and down. I had done some research before purchasing, and this seat was rated well. It rated well for safety and comfort. It is also easy to install and light weight.

We have 2 of these for my husbands car and they are so great! Very lightweight and easy to moe from car to car. My boys love to have their own cup holders and this one has one on each side. I recommend this to everyone! Haven't been on an airplane but looks easy to check in our carry on the plan since it folds in half!

The Compass booster is our secondary booster. It is in my husband's car as he drops our four-year-old daughter off at preschool on his way to work. He loves that it folds up and can be stored easily in the trunk, should he need to drive clients around. Our daughter also loves the seat. It's very roomy and well padded. Our little girl is very slim but this seat will accomodate a husky boy easily.

This is a great seat. The fabric is plush and the seat is well padded. It is easy for my 3.5 year old to climb in and buckle himself. The seat belt recoils as it should and the seat seems to fit him well. However, this seat DOES NOT recline. If you have a child that likes to nap in the car, you may need to explore other options. My child never falls alseep in the car, but since we purchased the seat two weeks ago, he has fallen asleep twice. I guess I should never say never! He slumped forward without any support, hanging in the seat by the buckle. I tried to prop him up with no success. The next time I put a rolled towel behind the seat. He leaned back while sleeping and used the head rest for support. I don't think it is recommended to sdjust the seat, but it does not seem unsafe.

I bought this booster to replace our Graco Turbobooster because I drive a Jeep Cherokee Sport w/ a very low back bucket seat (no headrests either). I feel my daughter (5 yrs. old) has more support because the whole back raises for height adjustment (not just the headrest). I've also heard that Compass will replace our booster seat if we are in an accident. We are both very happy.

This booster seat is exactly what we needed for our three year old son. It is easy to move from either side of the car, the drink holder is deep enough to keep his drinks from spilling, and most important my son is very safe and comfortable.

My three year old loves this seat. It is very sturdy and an easy install to move between vehicles. The retractable cup holders and arm rests are great because, my son can be as comvertable as possible. He loves seeing out the window and head restraints are a great place to lay a heavy head when tired.
br /Very easy to fold up and cleanable!!!
br /Love it!!

We loved this seat in every way except my son outgrew it when he was only 52 inches in height, which is well below the 57 inch height that the manufacturer says it is made to fit. My son's torso is not unusually long but even with the seatback in the highest position his shoulders were above the seat belt guides in the headrest which makes it unsafe. I wrote to the manufacturer asking if they'd had other complaints but did not receive a reply. By the way, we checked him on some other brands that were for a child his height, and his shoulders were not too high, only on this brand. I was very disappointed that we had to purchase him another booster for his final year of requirement by our state law, I had intended this booster to serve him until he no longer needed to use one.

We bought this seat after reading the reviews and comparing this seat to others in its price range. We are very happy with this seat. It is very well made and feels solid, unlike the Graco and Evenflo boosters with removeable backs which fell off when you pick up those seats to move them. I like how it is all attached - I feel my daughter is safer that way. I like how it folds and is easily portable. The cushioning is wonderful. The fabric is dark blue, which concerned me at first (during sunny days would it get hot), but it stays cool to the touch. There is a sticker on the seat that tells you when you should no longer use the seat, which is helpful. The only thing I was disappointed in was that it was last year's model, which I didn't know when I ordered it. So I lost a year of use. But overall, my daughter loves her new seats!
I love this booster!

My husband and I bought a second one after having had the first one for a little while for my 6 year old son. He liked it so much that we bought another one for my almost 4 year old. The seat is incredibly easy to clean (which is wonderful as the boys snack in the car a lot) and it's also so easy to fold and throw in the back of the car when we aren't using it. Both boys feel very comfortable in it and seem to not mind riding in it for long periods of time.

We bought two of these seats before a trip to Disney World. They were easy to travel with (thanks to the convenient box that they come in) and very comfortable for the kids (ages 5 and 3). We put them in our car when we got back and the kids can get in and out by themselves without any problem. The adjustable back is fabulous, as the whole thing rises and continues to provide support to the lower back. Plus, they are light enough to take in and out of the car easily. The seats are a little stiff when it comes to folding and unfolding them, but I don't do that very often so it's not a big deal. Frankly, I think that it makes the seat feel more sturdy.

My son was able to get out of the seat very easily. He had only been in the seat one time before the time he wiggled his way out.
br /But the seat was very easy to install, the box for storage carrying is a great idea. The seat is soft (especially to be a booster) and I loved that I could wash the cover.
br /Unfortunately thanks to the wiggle worm I had to return the seat.

We have been looking at various booster seats for our daughter. This compass boosters is one that we both like but have a couple questions about. If anyone could help us answer them, we would appreciate that!!
br /
br /**Going from the harness to a seatbelt....that is a concern for us. I'm sure it is safe, but a bit uneasy that it isn't as safe as the harness itself.
br /
br /**Is it that big of deal that it doesn't have a latch sysmtem to attach it to the seat?

Before I invest in two of these seats for my 3-year-old twins, can anyone tell me if they are FAA-approved? If not, can you recommend a lightweight booster seat that is? Although we love our Britax car seats, it is really a pain to lug two of them through the airport everytime we travel.

I purchased two of these (for two kids)and returned them today...I was looking for something to replace my nice Eddie Bauer seat (second one where the bottom buckle came right out after about a year of use)...Anyway, I have a squirmy, active two and a half year old, who easily can reach the buckle, undo it and then move around in the car as he likes....
br /
br /So now we're back to a convertible seat (Graco)...which is probably kinda small...but at least he can't houdini himself out of it yet, with the extra harness....
br /
br /There should be a secure seat with harness for larger children....

This was on Consumer Reports May 2005 top booster list. It wasn't at the top of the list, and I only bought it initially because the store I went to had the Compass B500 in stock but not the higher-rated seats from Cosco, Safety 1st, Britax and Graco.
br /
br /It's got very comfortable if streamlined booster padding (removeable and machine washable), and a head support that's great for car naps.
br /
br /Nice to have a convenient pocket for the well-done instructions right on the back of the seat. And being able to fold it up seems useful for families who have one parent drop off and another pick up. We only have one car right now, so that's not a benefit personnally to our family.
br /
br /When I tried to unfold it according to the instructions, there were several loud cracking sounds that made me nervous about doing this multiple times over its lifetime. Folding down, on the other hand, it's pleasantly simple to press the color-coded lever at the back of the seat.
br /
br /I returned this chair because it lacked tethers and LATCH. Although tethers and LATCH are not required for boosters at this time in regulatory history, I'd feel safer when I find a booster with at least the tether.

The Compass B500 is a booster seat for CHILDREN AGE 4 AND 40 POUNDS or more. I bought two three years ago and love them.
br /My grandkids like the cup holders. No arguing about which side of the car who sits on because the Compass has a cup holder on each side. The seats are easy to fold and light to carry. Now that the kids are older, I can take the back off so their friends can't tell that they're in booster seats.
FYI for bigger kids needing a harness booster!!!

I do not have this booster. One of the reviewers posted that there needs to be a booster for bigger kids that uses a harness. There is!!! Britax Husky uses a harness until 65lbs!!! It's pricey but well worth it if it will fit in your car.
